D An unusual degree of sickness and mortality has prevailed for a short season during the year, 'six children having died since our last report. The extraordinary efforts which are made to preserve cleanliness and purity 0 air throughout the building, and to supply wholesome and nutritious food are proof that this sickness is the result of causes beyond our power to control or prevent. The most vigorous measures were taken and the - Home is now in the best sanitary Condition. The Operations of the Home and School have been 'conducted with entire harmony amongthe boards and officers connected with the management. There has been -no discouragement, but on the contrary, everything to encourage to future and better efforts. The work grows from year to year both in usefulness and in the confidence of the public. We believe our Institution to be worthy of the largest assistance and support and that the funds here con tributed are Wisely and usefully employed in a discriminating and twice blessed charity, blessing him who gives as well as him who takes. Inviting in still larger measure that-co-operation from the public which are so necessary to success= - we submit our Annual Reports to the Association.
