Book excerpt: Polly, 28, lives in London with a "e;perfect-on-paper"e; boyfriend and a dead-end job. Her banal existence is turned upside down late one drunken night after a chance encounter with a man on a packed train. The chemistry between them is electric and on impulse, they kiss, giving in to their carnal desires. But it's over in an instant, and Polly is left shell-shocked as he walks away without even telling her his name. Polly begins a frantic online search, and discovers more about "e;Tubing,"e; an underground phenomenon in which total strangers set up illicit, silent, sexual meetings on busy commuter tube trains. In the process, she tracks him down and he slowly lures her into his murky world, setting up encounters with different men via Twitter. At first she thinks she can keep it separate from the rest of her life, but things soon spiral out of control. A horrific turn of events make Polly realize not only how foolish she has been, but how much danger she is in. Can she get out before it's too late?

This book was released on 1968 with total page 16 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Though use of plastic tubing for collecting maple sap has been hailed as the greatest advance ever made by the maple sugar industry, relatively few maple sugar producers are using tubing systems. To point the way toward greater and more efficient use of tubing systems, we summarize here the results and observations of our experiments with this method of sap collection. Certainly, if the efficiency of plastic tubing can be improved it will be more widely used, and the industry as a whole will benefit. In this report we have summarized the results and observations of tubing experiments conducted by the Northeastern Forest Experiment Station that suggest some ways in which this increased efficiency can be obtained. Book Synopsis Brazing & Soldering: Copper Tubing and Processes by : Esco Institute
Download or read book Brazing & Soldering: Copper Tubing and Processes written by Esco Institute and published by ESCO Institute. This book was released on 2021-01-01 with total page 20 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Improperly installed refrigerant lines can result in system leaks. A leaky system will result in refrigerant emissions to the environment and an undercharged condition. Systems that operate with less than a full charge will be inefficient and consume more energy. Understanding the various types of copper tubing and how to properly join them during system installation is vital to the operation and lifespan of the system. This program covers the various joining methods, proper tools and their use, torch use and safety, and leak testing a completed installation. Brazing and Soldering: Copper Tubing and Processes was written by HVACR instructors for HVACR instructors to simplify the instruction of installation of copper refrigerant lines. The e-book provides students and practicing technicians with the information and knowledge necessary to work with and install copper refrigerant lines. Various processes and joining methods are covered in detail to provide an in-depth resource that will benefit any type of HVACR program. It is full of color illustrations and a student worksheet is included at the end of the manual to review the material covered. Main topics include: types of copper tubing, processes (such as cutting, bending, and swaging), proper tool use, torch safety, brazing, soldering, flaring, and leak testing.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Good engineers never stop looking for opportunities to improve the performance of their production systems. Performance enhancement methods are always carefully examined, and production data is analyzed in order to identify determining factors affecting performance. The two main activities of the production engineer in the petroleum and related industries are reservoir stimulation and artificial lift. The classic solution to maximizing a well's productivity is to stimulate it. The basis for selecting stimulation candidates should be a review of the well's actual and theoretical IPR. Low permeability wells often need fracturing on initial completion. In low permeability zones, additional post stimulation production can be significant to the economics, however, the production engineer needs to make management aware of the true long term potential or else overly optimistic projections can easily be made. The main purpose of stimulation is to enhance the property value by the faster delivery of the petroleum fluid and/or to increase ultimate economic recovery. The aim of reservoir stimulation is to bypass near-wellbore damage and return a well to its “natural” productivity / injectivity, to extend a conductive path deep into a formation and thus increase productivity beyond the natural level and to produce hydrocarbon from tight formation. The importance of reservoir stimulation is increasing due to following reasons: • Hydrocarbon fields in their mid-life• Production in these fields are in declining trend• The thrust area: Enhancement of productionHence, to improve productivity of the well matrix stimulation and hydraulic fracturing are intended to remedy, or even improve, the natural connection of the wellbore with the reservoir, which could delay the need for artificial lift. This book presents procedures taken in the Oil & Gas Industry for identifying well problems, and it suggests means of solving problems with the help of the Coil Tube unit which is used for improving well productivity and techniques like Acidizing and Hydraulic Fracturing.
