Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many Christians think of end times prophecy as a gigantic, intimidating puzzle -- difficult to piece together and impossible to figure out. But every puzzle can be solved if you approach it the right way. Paul Benware compares prophecy to a picture puzzle. Putting the edge pieces together first builds the 'framework' that makes it easier to fit the other pieces in their place. According to Benware, the framework for eschatology is the biblical covenants. He begins his comprehensive survey by explaining the major covenants. Then he discusses several different interpretations of end times prophecy. Benware digs into the details of the Rapture, the Great Tribulation, the judgements and resurrections, and the millennial kingdom. But he also adds a unique, personal element to the study, answering questions as: -Why study bible prophecy? -What difference does it make if I'm premillenial or amillenial? If what the Bible says about the future puzzles you, Understanding End Times Prophecy will help you put together the pieces and see the big picture.

Book excerpt: As recovering Fundamentalists we often find ourselves unknowingly remaining within the Fundamentalist worldview. We think that if we enter into Progressive Christianity we’re leaving behind the irrational, hurtful, racist, and untrue theological worldview we were brought up in. But what if Fundamentalism is really a kind of Progressive Christianity? And both of these twin children of modernity are inherently racist, anti-Jewish, and colonial, and therefore antithetical to the brown Jewish Incarnation of the God of Israel? What if instead of leaving Fundamentalism we’ve really just changed the garbs of the Northern European Enlightenment rather than truly reorientating our whole lives towards the True, Good, and Beautiful? In this book we will examine a need for former Fundamentalists to be reintroduced to the Christian faith. One that looks backwards towards Christianity as it existed before the Enlightenment and even the Reformation. One that de-centers Christian traditions which originated out of Northern Europe by centering Christian traditions rooted in such places as Southwest Asia and North and East Africa. By criticizing modernist white Christianity the reader is guided into a Christianity that isn’t merely the other side of the same coin but looks radically different.

Book excerpt: Prophecy Unfulfilled represents a continuation of the author’s quest for the truth of God, by firstly uncovering the untruths that he had been taught during his formative years as a Catholic. Earlier works focused on the claimed new (replacement) covenant, the rejection of the Sabbath, and the rejection of Torah. Using the rules of evidence as in a court of law, this study seeks to evaluate the claimed messianic prophecy fulfillment by Jesus, some two thousand years ago. The first part of the book discusses the nature of evidence and how the rules regarding written evidence vary significantly from those of oral evidence, the latter being used most often by biblical scholars and Christian apologists. The first step is to authenticate the extant documents by examining the chain of custody and, thus, establish authority. Next is to authenticate the attributed authorship of the writings, to determine whether the authors were firsthand witnesses of the events they described, or whether their narratives are hearsay, with or without corroboration. Where little verbal agreement is found, this is circumstantial evidence of separate traditions developing the resultant theology. The study proceeds by examining every verse in the NKJV (New King James Version) of the New Testament that is annotated as being in fulfillment of prophecy, comparing the wording against both the NKJV Old Testament and an English translation of the Hebrew scriptures. Where significant variations exist, the author seeks an understanding from New Testament scholars, whom he frequently quotes. The eschatological temper of the early church is given due consideration, especially concerning the expectations of the Jews regarding the mission of the Messiah. Finally, the accomplishments of Jesus, as enshrined in Christian creeds, is compared with what is spoken of by the prophets. The author’s conclusion is encapsulated in the book’s title.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For 1700 years the Trinity has been considered the cornerstone of Christianity by all mainstream churches. But the Bibles words for God, appearing thousands of times, never mean a triune God. The concept of the Trinity has been taught to churchgoers based solely on implication and inference. The truth is, the Scriptures dont support the doctrine of the Trinity, but it has been indoctrinated into the minds of otherwise intelligent and well-educated Christians and perpetuated as a mystery not meant to be understood. The majority of Christians have not bothered to investigate the doctrine for themselves, and consequently have been duped. Ms. Lackey suggests that far too many Christians attend church with the attitude: Tell me, pastor, what do I believe today? Ms. Lackey expressed her resentment at being accused of being a heretic, not being a Christian, and being condemned to hell because of her strong belief in the human Jesus, the Messiah and Son of God, as opposed to being the one Almighty God. Her strong conviction led her to collaborate with biblical Unitarian authors to create a book that challenges the centuries-old man-made doctrines of the Trinity, the mainstay of ecclesiastical tradition. Ms. Lackey sees the Trinity as blight on the true Christianity taught by Jesus Christ for the benefit of humanity and feels Trinitarian Christians have traded Hebrew theology for Geek mythology with barely a question asked. She further contends that the majority of Christians believe in the Trinity primarily because they are expected to! Not to accept this dogma would place them under condemnation from both their brethren and the clergy. Ms. Lackey invites churchgoers everywhere to consider that they may have been drawn into a thinly veiled polytheism a belief in more than one God. She adamantly contends that Christians must take more responsibility for their beliefs and stop settling for centuries-old, creeds and doctrines as scriptural truth! The cover illustration depicts the agony experienced by Michael Servetus, a brilliant Spanish physician and theologian, who as one of the first Protestants to challenge the Trinity, was slowly burned at the stake in 1553, his book fastened to his thigh, at the instigation of the Protestant reformer John Calvin.
