Book excerpt: TREASURE is the true story of how the iconic fable The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho psychically predicted the future, and what would happen to Karen Williams in real life. This was at a time when Karen had never heard of Coelho’s famous book. It is a story about the passion for a dream, and how this passion revealed to Karen the language of signs and coincidences which the spiritual realm uses to speak to each of us. Living in Andalusia in southern Spain in the 1990s, Karen dreams of finding and living from her soul. One night, after visiting her favourite ruin, she has a dream in which she is reborn and with this her soul quest begins. Just as in Coelho’s The Alchemist it takes her to Tarifa and Tangiers, and then through a metaphorical desert, finally ending at a place of pyramids as she searches for her treasure. But, this is only just the beginning of a truly supernatural odyssey which goes on for another 18 years. In that time Karen dedicates her whole being to the slow, and sometimes incredibly painful unraveling of the real meaning of the allegory known to millions as The Alchemist. What she discovers is far deeper and more transcendental than she ever imagined and touches the lives of all of us who now stand at the beginning of a new millennium hoping for a new world and a new dawn.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Humanity has been given access to the secrets of oneness, but we need to learn how to work with them. Working with Oneness brings mysticism into the center of the marketplace, into the world of business and technology, and shows how we can work with it in everyday life. The dynamic energy of oneness has the potential to heal the planet and revolutionize life more than we can imagine, but it requires our individual participation and awareness to become fully alive. The energy of oneness is already present but waiting to be lived, and Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee provides a blueprint for working consciously with this energy. As we understand how our consciousness affects the whole fabric of life, the potential for real global change comes alive. Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee stresses the need to change from hierarchical, patriarchal power structures to organic patterns that allow for the free flow of energy and ideas. Through these patterns the dynamic energy of oneness can become part of everyday life. Working with Oneness includes a number of additional important topics, including: the changing energy structure of the planet and how to work with it; the power of individual consciousness; the danger of the desire for spiritual security; the return of joy to everyday life; the awakening of the heart of the world; a new understanding of magic; the use of the imagination; and mystical participation in life with the energy of oneness. Working with Oneness offers guidance on how to work with the energy of oneness, to learn how to participate in life free of the patterns of the past, so that the divine can come alive in every moment of every day. Working with Oneness is mystical activism at its most potent. “There is a growing and eager audience waiting for a vision of unity consciousness... Working with Oneness offers a salutary antidote to worn-out antagonisms. It challenges readers to join other kindred souls in a mystical activism that can bring new hope to humanity.” —Spirituality & Health “A book filled with wonder and the kind of insights that can leap out to your heart and gladden you for having read them. It's words are simple and straightforward—always a blessing—but its message it the most vital and important for the time in which we live. I recommend it.” —David Spangler, author, Blessings: the Art and the Practice

Most religions don't believe it, and science cannot prove it yet. This book is an “energy healing communication” with a DNA surprise, assisting you to integrate and understand the deep-seated truths about who you are and where you came from. The information explains what is happening to us, the earth, and the universe, and what one needs to do to adapt to the new energies on the planet at this time and for the years to come. These pages contain a profound message with the new energy—a message that I have delivered many times over my many lifetimes. Who am I? and Where do I come from? are questions that have been on the minds of everyone since the beginning. These thoughts are imprinted in our basic DNA. When I became aware of who I was in the previous lifetime just before this one (less than five months between lives)—my newfound identity propelled me into the search for the answers to the questions gnawing at my soul. Each answer provided new questions, leading me down the enlightened path to an encounter with the “Grand Divine Plan,” delivering a message of peace and preparation. We all have gifts and abilities unimaginable, ready for anyone who walks through the door. My search brought me into an awareness of knowing many of my past lives. It also revealed that my purpose of discovering was not about who I was, but that I would write about past lives and reincarnation at a time on the planet when this information would be so needed.

Book excerpt: Authentikos Logos (NHC VI,3), also known as Authoritative Teaching,is a little studied story of a soul's descent and ascent in the Nag Hammadi library. With her book Ulla Tervahauta fills a gap in the scholarship and provide the first monograph-length study that has this writingas its primary focus. The aim is to find a place and context for Authentikos Logos within early Christianity, but Tervahauta also adds new insight into the scholarship of the Nag Hammadi Library and study of early Christianity. Contrary to the usual discussion of the Nag Hammadi writings from the viewpoint of Gnostic studies, she argues that Authentikos Logos is best approached from the context of Christian traditions of late ancient Egypt between the third and the fifth centuries.Tervahauta discusses the story of the soul's journey in light of various Christian and Platonic writings. Also, she analyses the relationship of Authentikos Logos with the Valentinian Wisdom myth and suggests that no firm evidence connects the writing closely with Valentinian traditions. And although a Platonic mind-set can be assumed, the writing combines motifs in a unique manner. For example, the four epithets used in the writing – the "invisible soul", the "pneumatic soul", the "material soul", and the "rational soul" – are not found thus combined elsewhere. Discussion of matter (hyle) is connected with Christian scriptural allusions and the focus is on ethics and the evilness of matter. The body, on the other hand, is the soul's place of contest and progress. The Pauline term "pneumatic body" (1 Cor 15:44) is used allusively and from a Platonic perspective. With this book Ulla Tervahauta makes an important contribution to the study of early Christianity in late ancient Egypt by discussing a writing thatshows knowledge and creative combination of literary traditions that circulated in late ancient Egypt.

This book was released on 2019-05-19 with total page 378 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This newest volume of Carmelite Studies reflects the remarkable resurgence in Carmelite scholarship, especially throughout the English-speaking world, in recent decades. Several authors in the present volume are among the pioneers who made the latest in Carmelite scholarship available to an ever wider audience. Their voices are joined by those of other recognized scholars and theologians who continue to mine the rich heritage of this ancient tradition. These twelve essays particularly focus on wisdom, hope, and prophecy, especially as understood and practiced in the Carmelite tradition. Weaving rich insights from the theme throughout these essays, the authors show the honored place of wisdom and prophetic hope and action from the Order’s origins on Mount Carmel and the Rule in the 12th century, to the teachings of the saints and Doctors of the Church Teresa of Ávila and John of Cross in the 16th, to the 21st century where Carmelite wisdom speaks prophetically and challenges Carmelites and all women and men of prayer in ever new ways. This volume, tracing the contribution of Carmel’s richness from the hermit life at the prophet Elijah’s wadi to the challenges and invitations of the contemporary world, is an excellent resource for personal study as well as an invaluable tool for Carmelite formation, study groups, and anyone wanting to explore the intersection of Carmelite spirituality, biblical Wisdom, contemplation and prophetic action. Includes a helpful introduction outlining each essay’s focus, notes for each essay, biographical sketches of the contributors, and a comprehensive index. MORE INFORMATION: A strength of Carmel is its extensive literary tradition, providing rich material for study, reflection, prayer, and apostolic action. From 1983 to 2013, a group of Carmelite and Discalced Carmelite men and women gathered to study their shared tradition. This Carmelite Forum sponsored annual summer seminars in Carmelite spirituality at Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Indiana. The seminars’ talks and workshops utilized past and present scholarship on the tradition. The title of this newest Carmelite Studies volume is based on the theme of the 2009 Carmelite spirituality seminar, “Carmel’s Search for Wisdom: Prayer and Contemplation.” The study of Wisdom, identified by Christians with the Son of God, confirms Carmel’s perennial commitment to the following of Jesus Christ and demonstrates the centrality of the humanity of Jesus in Carmelite spirituality. Carmelite Wisdom and Prophetic Hope also shows how in recent decades Carmel has become more aware of its prophetic inheritance. The figure of the prophet Elijah, for example, has emerged as a balance to Carmel’s interiority and to an individualized spirituality. Following the church’s own clearer expression of justice as integral to the Gospel, Carmel has become more available and responsive to our contemporary world’s hunger for community, justice, and depth of meaning. Carmelite wisdom recognizes that contemplation is never for its own sake, but should be the deepest source of compassion for our world. The contributors and their respective essays are: PART I: Orientations to Wisdom and Prophetic Hope, Ancient and New * Mary Frohlich, RSCJ, “Contemplative Wisdom for An Axial Age: The Carmelite Tradition” * Keith J. Egan, T.OCarm., “Wisdom: A Many-Splendored Tradition” * Constance Fitzgerald, OCD, “From Impasse to Prophetic Hope: Crisis of Memory” * Kees Waaijman, OCarm, “The Wisdom of Work in the Carmelite Rule” PART II: Wisdom and Prophetic Hope in John of the Cross * Daniel Chowning, OCD, “John of the Cross: A Spirituality of Wisdom” * Vilma Seelaus, OCD, “Carmelite Mysticism as Theology: John of the Cross’s Theology of the Human Person” * Kevin Culligan, OCD, “The Wisdom of Emptiness” * Edward Howells, “O Guiding Night! Book excerpt: Light Upon Light is a book to touch the heart, and awaken the spirit. It takes the lives of some of the great spiritual masters of the last millennium, from Rumi, to twentieth century saint Darshan Singh, and illuminates their inner quests. More than simply biography, Light Upon Light delves into their perceptions of the world, the innermost workings of their minds, and the life incidents that led them to enlightenment. In this sense Light Upon Light is not about the spiritual path; it is designed to take the reader and carry them into the spiritual path, and perceive the wisdom of the masters from within. While author Andrew Vidich PhD has exemplary academic credentials, he writes from the heart, and calls the reader to a direct experience, a "felt sense" of the core of these masters' teachings. He also emphasizes meditation as the universal constant taught by all masters, and has provocative exercises in each chapter to stimulate self-reflection, contemplation, and to give the reader experience of practical meditation techniques. This is a book to be treasured by both long-time spiritual students, and those new to the great masters of the path.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The title for this book comes from the ancient Aboriginal concept of “song lines” —pathways to another world reached through dreamtime and visionary insight, and encounters with the unknown realm of experience. Veronica Goodchild addresses how dreams, synchronicities, UFO/ET encounters, Crop Circle mysteries, and NDEs all point to the new unfolding vision of reality. She draws on ancient mystery traditions to explore how this metamorphosis is already reflected cross-culturally in Hopi, Aztec, Mayan, Hindu, Tibetan, Maori, Zulu, Dogon, and Egyptian cultures. Songlines of the Soul proposes a new paradigm of reality, a new worldview. The signatures of this new reality are arising both in our own experiences and all around us if only we can stretch wide our stubbornly held perceptions of what is “reality.” As we stand at a crucial turning point in our human history, this book offers hope, a call to awaken and expand our perceptions of the fundamental principles that orchestrate reality. In an age when the answers offered by governments and traditional religion are no longer sufficient, the quest for meaning must—as it always has in the past—arise first through visions, dreams, and journeys to other dimensions of consciousness.

The book explains why Kabbalah can seem so complex and breaks the system down into simple, understandable chunks. It examines the different systems that are in operation today including the Lurianic tradition, the Golden Dawn, magical, alchemical and Christian Kabblah as well as the re-emerging Toledano Tradition, which is taking Kabbalah back to its roots while making it accessible to the modern world. The book explains the basics of the Kabbalistic Tree of Life diagram as well as the four worlds of Jacob?s Ladder. It includes Kabbalistic lore on angels, astrology and gematria, as well as exercises and meditations that are simple but profound.
