Book Synopsis Migrations sous contrôle by : Frédéric Décosse
Download or read book Migrations sous contrôle written by Frédéric Décosse and published by . This book was released on 2015 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Download or read book De l'ouvrier immigré au travailleur sans papiers written by Morice Alain and published by KARTHALA Editions. This book was released on 2010-01-01 with total page 338 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Le statut juridique des migrants admis à des fins d'emploi written by Ryszard Cholewinski and published by Council of Europe. This book was released on 2004-01-01 with total page 104 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis Migration and Agriculture by : Alessandra Corrado
Download or read book Migration and Agriculture written by Alessandra Corrado and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-07-28 with total page 371 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In recent years, Mediterranean agriculture has experienced important transformations which have led to new forms of labour and production, and in particular to a surge in the recruitment of migrant labour. The Mediterranean Basin represents a very interesting arena that is able to illustrate labour conditions and mobility, the competition among different farming models, and the consequences in terms of the proletarianization process, food crisis and diet changes. Migration and Agriculture brings together international contributors from across several disciplines to describe and analyse labour conditions and international migrations in relation to agri-food restructuring processes. This unique collection of articles connects migration issues with the proletarianization process and agrarian transitions that have affected Southern European as well as some Middle Eastern and Northern African countries in different ways. The chapters present case studies from a range of territories in the Mediterranean Basin, offering empirical data and theoretical analysis in order to grasp the complexity of the processes that are occurring. This book offers a uniquely comprehensive overview of migrations, territories and agro-food production in this key region, and will be an indispensable resource to scholars in migration studies, rural sociology, social geography and the political economy of agriculture.

Book Synopsis Multilayered Migration Governance by : Rahel Kunz
Download or read book Multilayered Migration Governance written by Rahel Kunz and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2011-03-03 with total page 290 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Multilayered Migration Governance explores the emerging concept of ‘migration partnerships’ in political management and governance of international migration flows. The partnership approach to migration seeks to balance responsibility and benefits of migration more evenly between source, transit and destination countries. Case studies from the US, Europe and Africa analyse the various initiatives and programmes applied in national, regional and transcontinental migration policy today. It shows that a multilayered system of migration governance has emerged which embeds primarily bilateral and mainly control-focused migration partnerships in a broader framework of (trans-)regional and international cooperation providing key links to policy areas in development, trade, finance and security. Utilising a comparative approach to assess the impact of partnerships on global migration policies, the book will be of interests to scholars and students in migration and development studies and international relations more broadly.
Book Synopsis Experiencing Ruptures in Migration – The Ordinary and Unexpected Journeys of Global Migrants by : Delphine Mercier
Download or read book Experiencing Ruptures in Migration – The Ordinary and Unexpected Journeys of Global Migrants written by Delphine Mercier and published by Transnational Press London. This book was released on 2021-12-16 with total page 225 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book aims to portray migratory experiences, documented in the form of biographical narratives. We are interested in the dynamic aspect of migration, which effectively becomes a complex trajectory, made up of stages, returns, and circulations and no longer simply, as in the industrial era, a bipolar exile (there and here). In these complex and dynamic movements, many trajectories become bifurcations, by which we mean shifting fates. In these stories we found paths, events, and bifurcations, all combined together, in terms of biographical construction based on accumulated experiences. These narratives are both very banal and very unusual journeys, portraying a new international human globalization. They are simultaneously stories of barriers to be crossed in chaotic situations interspersed with peaceful events in quiet contexts. These journeys reveal not only the weight of migration policies, but also the certification policies implemented and developed by various countries. This book presents itineraries, social logics of mobility; the routes become the analysts. If statistics record regularities, the personal approach captures specificities that produce meaning and contribute to a reinterpretation of current forms of mobility. “The superb collection of ethnographies that the reader will find in the pages to follow provide yet further insight into the ways in which movement across state borders represents a creative accomplishment. With cases selected from around the world – the Middle East, North Africa, Latin America, North America, and Europe – the chapter in this book demonstrate that migration is undertaken not only against states and their bureaucracies, but in tension with and possibly in opposition to migrants’ closest associates – precisely the people whom social capital theory paints as the font of the resources that make migration possible. ” – Roger Waldinger, University of California Los Angeles, USA Contents Foreword – Roger Waldinger Introduction – Víctor Zúñiga, Kamel Doraï, Delphine Mercier, and Michel Peraldi Part One: Migrant Families and Their Re-configuration Chinese Migrant Women Creating Meaningful Lives Despite Vulnerable Statuses – Hélène Le Bail Conflict and Migration from Iraq: Building a Life in Exile Amid the Twists and Turns of a Dramatic History – Cyril Roussel From Family Dispersion to Asylum-Seeking: Palestinian Refugees in Lebanon and Syria – Kamel Doraï Part Two: Children’s Movements Across Borders A left-behind child from El Alto.
