Diese Möglichkeiten, welche zur Bewältigung traumatischer Erlebnisse auf pädagogischer Ebene beitragen, und somit den Heilungsprozess der betroffenen Kinder und Jugendlichen aktivieren, möchte ich in meiner Hausarbeit erläutern. Zunächst werde ich auf das Thema „Trauma“ im Allgemeinen und insbesondere auf die schwerwiegenden Ursachen im sozialen Nahbereich eingehen. Anschließend stelle ich die möglichen Folgeerscheinungen dar. Dieses Wissen ist notwendig, um die nachfolgenden Punkte des zentralen Themas der Traumapädagogik und ihre Interventionsmöglichkeiten besser nachvollziehen zu können und diese von den therapeutischen Verfahren zu unterscheiden. Neben den grundlegenden Haltung der Traumapädagogik gehe ich ferner auf den Begriff der Bindung im traumatischen Kontext ein, um die Bedeutung für pädagogisches Handeln zu verdeutlichen.

Hier absolvierte ich zu Beginn meines Studiums ein Praktikum und bin bis heute dort tatig. Viele von den Jugendlichen, die hier leben, haben traumatische Erlebnisse machen mussen. Mit einem Zitat von Bertolt Brecht scharfte und veranderte meine Praxisanleiterin bereits am ersten Tag meinen Blick auf die zu betreuenden Jugendlichen: Der reissende Strom wird gewalttatig genannt, aber das Flussbett, das ihn einengt, nennt keiner gewalttatig." Mit der Zeit begriff ich, was sie damit meinte. Es sind keine kranken" Jugendlichen, mit denen wir zu tun haben. Sie und ihr Verhalten sind vielmehr durch ihre traumatischen Erlebnisse bedingt und hindern sie an einer gesunden Entwicklung. Im Gegensatz zu der Annahme, traumatische Erfahrungen konnten nur im therapeutischen Setting korrigiert werden, stellt auch die Padagogik eine grosse Unterstutzungsmoglichkeit fur betroffene Kinder und Jugendliche dar; traumatische Erfahrungen spiegeln sich in auffalligen Verhaltensweisen wieder,

It was the first systematic attempt at placing cultural and contextual factors as an integral component of the diagnostic process. The year was 1994 and its coming was ripe since the multicultural explosion due to migration, refugees, and globalization on the ethnic composition of the U.S. population made it compelling to strive for culturally attuned psychiatric care. Understanding the limitations of a dry symptomatological approach in helping clinicians grasp the intricacies of the experience, presentation, and course of mental illness, the NIMH Group on Culture and Diagnosis proposed to appraise, in close collaboration with the patient, the cultural framework of the patient's identity, illness experience, contextual factors, and clinician-patient relationship, and to narrate this along the lines of five major domains. By articulating the patient's experience and the standard symptomatological description of a case, the clinician may be better able to arrive at a more useful understanding of the case for clinical care purposes.
