Download or read book Transient Wave Propagation in a Plasma written by Boppana Lakshmi Jaganmohana Rao and published by . This book was released on 1967 with total page 48 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The transient fields due to a dipole placed in lossless plasma and excited by a delta function or a step-modulated sine wave current source were obtained in closed form. Far field approximation was used in the case of step-modulated sine wave. An interesting problem of transmission and reflection of a step-modulated sinusoidal plane wave, when it is incident normally at the boundary of a semi-infinite plasma or a plasma slab was also included. Book Synopsis Modeling and Analysis of Transient Processes in Open Resonant Structures by : Yuriy K. Sirenko
Download or read book Modeling and Analysis of Transient Processes in Open Resonant Structures written by Yuriy K. Sirenko and published by Springer. This book was released on 2007-04-03 with total page 367 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes a systematic approach to scattering of transient fields which can be introduced in undergraduate or graduate courses. The initial boundary value problems considered describe the transient electromagnetic fields formed by open periodic, compact, and waveguide resonators. The methods developed and the mathematical and physical results obtained provide a basis on which a modern theory for the scattering of resonant non-harmonic waves can be developed.
Book Synopsis Light Scattering in Solids by : J. L. Birman
Download or read book Light Scattering in Solids written by J. L. Birman and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 525 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Second USA-USSR Symposium on Light Scattering in Con densed Matter was held in New York City 21-25 May 1979. The present volume is the proceedings of that conference, and contains all manuscripts received prior to 1 August 1979, representing scientific contributions presented. A few manus cripts were not received, but for completeness the corresponding abstract is printed. No record was kept of the discussion, so that some of the flavor of the meeting is missing. This is par ticularly unfortunate in the case of some topics which were in a stage of rapid development and where the papers presented sti mulated much discussion - such as the sessions on spatial dis persion and resonance inelastic (Brillouin or Raman) scattering in crystals, enhanced Raman scattering from molecules on metal surfaces, and the onset of turbulence in fluids. The background and history of the US-USSR Seminar-Symposia on light scattering was given in the preface to the proceedings of the First Symposium held in Moscow May 1975, published as "Theory of Light Scattering in Condensed Matter" ed. B. Bendow, J. L. Birman, V. M. Agranovich (Plenum Press, N. Y. 1976). Strong scientific interest on both sides in continuing this series resulted in a plan for the second symposium to be held in New York in 1977. For a variety of reasons it was necessary to cancel the planned 1977 event, almost at the last minute.

Book Synopsis Advances in Complex Electromagnetic Materials by : A. Priou
Download or read book Advances in Complex Electromagnetic Materials written by A. Priou and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 397 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Recent advances in our understanding of complex composite media, especially chiral media for microwave applications, suggest the feasibility of creating novel materials with unusual properties and the possibility of constructing new microwave devices using such materials. The emphasis of the book is on bi-anisotropic materials, whose most interesting feature is the magnetoelectric interaction of the fields. The materials are expected to supply useful applications in radar technology, aerospace, microwave engineering, manufacturing technology, etc., such as absorbers for low-reflectivity shields, reciprocal phase shifters, polarization transformers. The first experiments with artificial bi-anisotropic media have been successfully carried out.
Book Synopsis Time Domain Wave-splittings and Inverse Problems by : Sailing He
Download or read book Time Domain Wave-splittings and Inverse Problems written by Sailing He and published by . This book was released on 1998 with total page 418 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is an introduction to recent developments in the application of wave-splitting methods to direct and inverse scattering of wave fields. Here wave-splitting refers to the decomposition of the total field into two components which propagate in opposite directions. Although the text emphasizes time domain methods, it includes some applications to frequency domain problems.

Book Synopsis FDTD Modeling of Metamaterials: Theory and Applications by : Yang Hao
Download or read book FDTD Modeling of Metamaterials: Theory and Applications written by Yang Hao and published by Artech House. This book was released on 2008-10-01 with total page 395 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Master powerful new modeling tools that let you quantify and represent metamaterial properties with never-before accuracy. This first-of-its-kind book brings you up to speed on breakthrough finite-difference time-domain techniques for modeling metamaterial characteristics and behaviors in electromagnetic systems. This practical resource comes complete with sample FDTD scripts to help you pave the way to new metamaterial applications and advances in antenna, microwave, and optics engineering. You get in-depth coverage of state-of-the-art FDTD modeling techniques and applications for electromagnetic bandgap (EBG) structures, left-handed metamaterials (LHMs), wire medium, metamaterials for optics, and other practical metamaterials. You find steps for computing dispersion diagrams, dealing with material dispersion properties, and verifying the left-handedness. Moreover, this comprehensive volume offers guidance for handling the unique properties possessed by metamaterials, including how to define material parameters, characterize the interface of metamaterial slabs, and quantify their spatial as well as frequency dispersion characteristics. The book also presents conformal and dispersive FDTD modeling of electromagnetic cloaks, perfect lens, and plasmonic waveguides, as well as other novel antenna, microwave, and optical applications. Over 190 illustrations support key topics throughout the book.

Book Synopsis The Finite Difference Time Domain Method for Electromagnetics by : Karl S. Kunz
Download or read book The Finite Difference Time Domain Method for Electromagnetics written by Karl S. Kunz and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2018-05-04 with total page 466 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Finite-Difference Time-domain (FDTD) method allows you to compute electromagnetic interaction for complex problem geometries with ease. The simplicity of the approach coupled with its far-reaching usefulness, create the powerful, popular method presented in The Finite Difference Time Domain Method for Electromagnetics. This volume offers timeless applications and formulations you can use to treat virtually any material type and geometry. The Finite Difference Time Domain Method for Electromagnetics explores the mathematical foundations of FDTD, including stability, outer radiation boundary conditions, and different coordinate systems. It covers derivations of FDTD for use with PEC, metal, lossy dielectrics, gyrotropic materials, and anisotropic materials. A number of applications are completely worked out with numerous figures to illustrate the results. It also includes a printed FORTRAN 77 version of the code that implements the technique in three dimensions for lossy dielectric materials. There are many methods for analyzing electromagnetic interactions for problem geometries. With The Finite Difference Time Domain Method for Electromagnetics, you will learn the simplest, most useful of these methods, from the basics through to the practical applications.
