CEPENDANT, COMPTE TENU DES QUANTITES DE CES DECHETS, LEUR TRAITEMENT PAR VOIE THERMIQUE DEVIENT UN MOYEN FAVORABLE, VOIR INDISPENSABLE. L'INCINERATEUR ROTATIF EST UNE SOLUTION TOUT A FAIT CONVENABLE POUR CE TYPE DE DECHETS A HAUTE TENEUR EN HUMIDITE, COMPOSE PRINCIPALEMENT DE MATIERE ORGANIQUE, ET A FAIBLE POUVOIR CALORIFIQUE. UNE ETUDE SUR UN INCINERATEUR ROTATIF EST REALISEE DANS LE BUT D'EN OPTIMISER LE FONCTIONNEMENT ET DE DEFINIR LES MEILLEURES CONDITIONS OPERATOIRES. DANS LE CADRE DE CETTE THESE, LES ETUDES SONT EFFECTUEES SUR UN INCINERATEUR ROTATIF A CO-COURANT. LES PARAMETRES DE FONCTIONNEMENT A ETUDIER SONT LA VITESSE DE ROTATION DU FOUR, LE TAUX D'HUMIDITE DES DECHETS, LE TAUX DE REMPLISSAGE DU FOUR ET LA NATURE DE COMBUSTIBLE. LES INFLUENCES DE CES PARAMETRES SUR L'EVOLUTION DE LA TEMPERATURE SUR LE LIT SOLIDE, LE TRANSFERT THERMIQUE AINSI QUE LES EMISSIONS DE NO#X ONT ETE ETUDIEES. UN MODELE THERMIQUE DES EFFETS DES CONDITIONS OPERATOIRES SUR LE FONCTIONNEMENT DU FOUR A ETE ETABLI PAR COMBINAISON DES REGIMES DE CONVECTION ET DE RAYONNEMENT. LES RESULTATS OBTENUS AVEC LE MODELE ET LES EXPERIENCES SONT EN BON ACCORD ET PERMETTENT DONC D'OPTIMISER LA CONCEPTION ET LE FONCTIONNEMENT DU FOUR ROTATIF

Book excerpt: LES REGLEMENTATIONS SUR LES DIFFERENTS REJETS PROVENANT DE L'INCINERATION DES DECHETS MENAGERS SONT EN CONSTANTE EVOLUTION EN FRANCE ET EN EUROPE ET NECESSITENT L'ELABORATION ET LA MISE EN UVRE DE NOUVEAUX PROCEDES DE TRAITEMENT. DANS UN DOMAINE PRATIQUEMENT VIERGE, CE TRAVAIL A D'ABORD CONSISTE A CARACTERISER LES DIFFERENTS TYPES DE RESIDUS SOLIDES, METTANT EN EVIDENCE LEUR COMPLEXITE: CE SONT DES MELANGES QUI COMPTENT PLUS DE 14 CONSTITUANTS MAJEURS (SIO#2, AL#2O#3, CAO, MGO, FE#2O#3, NA#2O, K#2O, TIO#2, CACO#3, CA(OH)#2, CASO#4, NACL, KCL, CACL#2) ET UN NOMBRE IMPORTANT DE CONSTITUANTS MINEURS, EN PARTICULIER DES METAUX LOURDS. NOUS AVONS ENSUITE DEFINI UNE METHODOLOGIE VISANT A SIMPLIFIER L'APPROCHE DES PROBLEMES LIES A LA PARAGENESE ET AU COMPORTEMENT DE CES RESIDUS EN PHASE HUMIDE OU A LA TEMPERATURE. LA MISE EN UVRE DE PROTOCOLES D'ETUDE ET DE TECHNIQUES ANALYTIQUES A PERMIS LA MISE EN EVIDENCE DE PHENOMENES ORIGINAUX. CES PHENOMENES SONT: LA STABILISATION DES METAUX LOURDS DANS LES SILICATES ET SILICO-ALUMINATES DE CALCIUM, LES REACTIVITES ENTRE SOLIDES AUX TEMPERATURES COMPRISES ENTRE 400 ET 1000C ET LA DEMIXTION A HAUTE TEMPERATURE ENTRE LE LIQUIDE CONSTITUE PAR LES SELS ET CELUI CONSTITUE PAR LES OXYDES. LES RESULTATS DE CETTE ETUDE ONT PERMIS DE VALIDER LES HYPOTHESES SIMPLIFICATRICES DE NOTRE METHODOLOGIE D'APPROCHE. ILS ONT EGALEMENT PERMIS UNE MEILLEURE COMPREHENSION DE LA PARAGENESE DES RESIDUS. NOUS AVONS AINSI PU ENVISAGER PUIS REALISER DIFFERENTS TYPES DE TRAITEMENTS EN AMONT OU EN AVAL DE LA COMBUSTION DES DECHETS DANS LE BUT DE STABILISER LES METAUX LOURDS ET LES SELS

Download or read book Xenobiotics in Fish written by D.J. Smith and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 226 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Aquaculture is rapidly becoming a major source of fish protein used to meet the nutritional needs of humans. As the aquaculture industry grows, exposure of farmed fish to environmental contaminants, and the need for chemical therapeutic agents for fish, will increase. This book is designed to bring together authorities worldwide on the regulation of environmental contaminants and food chemicals and researchers investigating the metabolism and disposition of foreign chemicals (xenobiotics) in fish species.

Book Synopsis Human Pharmaceuticals, Hormones and Fragrances by : Thomas Ternes
Download or read book Human Pharmaceuticals, Hormones and Fragrances written by Thomas Ternes and published by IWA Publishing. This book was released on 2007-01-30 with total page 475 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The observed concentrations of pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) in raw wastewater confirm that municipal wastewater represents the main disposal pathway for the PPCPs consumed in households, hospitals and industry. In sewage treatment plant effluents most PPCPs are still present, since many of these polar and persistent compounds are being removed only partially or, in some cases, not at all. Treated wastewater therefore represents an important point source for PPCPs into the environment. After passing a sewage treatment plant the treated wastewater is mostly discharged into rivers and streams or sometimes used to irrigate fields. If drinking water is produced using resources containing a substantial proportion of treated wastewater (e.g. from river water downstream of communities) the water cycle is closed and indirect potable reuse occurs. Human Pharmaceuticals, Hormones and Fragrances provides an overview of the occurrence, analytics, removal and environmental risk of pharmaceuticals and personal care products in wastewater, surface water and drinking water. The book covers all aspects of the fate and removal of PPCPs in the whole water cycle: consumption and occurrence, analytical methods, the legal background, environmental risk assessment, human and animal toxicology, source control options, wastewater and drinking water treatment as well as indirect reuse. The book presents a summary of the results obtained during the EU project "Poseidon", combined with further expert knowledge on the field, and is written at a level appropriate for professionals involved in management of water resource quality. Professionals in the field including decision makers, engineers and scientists, as well as students entering the field, will find this an invaluable source of information. First comprehensive study on the assessment, fate and removal of pharmaceuticals and personal care products in wastewater and drinking water treatment. Emphasises the importance of micropollutants in the water cycle, provides methods for quantifying their fate and technologies for their removal.
