Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report presents a cost analysis of Toluenediamine (TDA) production from toluene In this process, toluene is first dinitrated to dinitrotoluene (DNT) in two steps. Then, DNT is hydrogenated to Toluenediamine (TDA). This report was developed based essentially on the following reference(s): (1) T. Urbanski, Chemistry and Technology of Explosives, Vol. 1, MacMillan, New York, 1964 (2) "Toluenediamine", Kirk-Othmer Encyclopedia of Chemical Technology, 5th edition Keywords: Hydrogenation, Toluene Dinitration, Toluenediamine, TDA, Diaminotoluene
Book Synopsis Toluene Diisocyanate Production from DNT - Cost Analysis - TDI E11A by : Intratec
Download or read book Toluene Diisocyanate Production from DNT - Cost Analysis - TDI E11A written by Intratec and published by Intratec Solutions. This book was released on 2019-09-17 with total page 102 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report presents a cost analysis of Toluene Diisocyanate (TDI) production from dinitrotoluene (DNT). The process examined is a typical reductive carbonylation process. This process is comprised of two-steps: DNT initially undergoes reductive carbonylation to form toluene dimethylcarbamate; then the carbamate is thermally decomposed to produce TDI. This report was developed based essentially on the following reference(s): (1) GB Patent 1402379, issued to Arco in 1975 (2) US Patent 4081472, issued to Mitsui Toatsu in 1984 Keywords: Non-Phosgene Process, Mitsui Toatsu, Arco

Book Synopsis Environmental Health by : Howard Frumkin
Download or read book Environmental Health written by Howard Frumkin and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2016-02-09 with total page 896 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The bestselling environmental health text, with all new coverage of key topics Environmental Health: From Global to Local is a comprehensive introduction to the subject, and a contemporary, authoritative text for students of public health, environmental health, preventive medicine, community health, and environmental studies. Edited by the former director of the CDC's National Center for Environmental Health and current dean of the School of Public Health at the University of Washington, this book provides a multi-faceted view of the topic, and how it affects different regions, populations, and professions. In addition to traditional environmental health topics—air, water, chemical toxins, radiation, pest control—it offers remarkably broad, cross-cutting coverage, including such topics as building design, urban and regional planning, energy, transportation, disaster preparedness and response, climate change, and environmental psychology. This new third edition maintains its strong grounding in evidence, and has been revised for greater readability, with new coverage of ecology, sustainability, and vulnerable populations, with integrated coverage of policy issues, and with a more global focus. Environmental health is a critically important topic, and it reaches into fields as diverse as communications, technology, regulatory policy, medicine, and law. This book is a well-rounded guide that addresses the field's most pressing concerns, with a practical bent that takes the material beyond theory. Explore the cross-discipline manifestations of environmental health Understand the global ramifications of population and climate change Learn how environmental issues affect health and well-being closer to home Discover how different fields incorporate environmental health perspectives The first law of ecology reminds is that 'everything is connected to everything else.' Each piece of the system affects the whole, and the whole must sustain us all for the long term. Environmental Health lays out the facts, makes the connections, and demonstrates the importance of these crucial issues to human health and well-being, both on a global scale, and in our homes, workplaces, and neighborhoods.

Book Synopsis Our Chemical Selves by : Dayna Nadine Scott
Download or read book Our Chemical Selves written by Dayna Nadine Scott and published by UBC Press. This book was released on 2015-02-25 with total page 437 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chemicals found in homes, schools, and workplaces are having devastating consequences on human health and the environment. Our Chemical Selves examines the gender dynamics associated with these everyday toxic exposures. Written by leading researchers in science, law, and public policy, the chapters in Our Chemical Selves reveal that while exposures to chemicals are pervasive and widespread, people from low-income, racialized, and Indigenous communities face a far greater risk of exposure. At the same time, the risks associated with these exposures (and the burdens of managing them) rest disproportionately on the shoulders of women. This collection hones in on the “political economy of pollution” by critically examining the system that manufactures the chemicals and the social, political, and gender relations that enable harmful chemicals to continue being produced and consumed. It also demonstrates the urgent need to revise existing approaches to the regulation of toxics, including Canada’s current Chemicals Management Plan.
