Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A truly amazing story which shows how love transcends all time. A personal testament to the fact that love is eternal, that love endures and does not die when the physical body does. Love transports us through all of our journeys but we need to remember this. Twin soul love is powerful and a part of every individual where each of us seeks to find what we feel to be missing. But how do you know when it's found? How can you be sure about love when you have forgotten how it truly feels. When two people discover their twin soul love for one another, not only in this lifetime but also remember it from a previous lifetime, then they can guide us all. Finding love, understanding love, as well as appreciating our true self for who we really are, continues to be shrouded in the mystery of our day to day earthly existence. This enduring lack of understanding only serves to perpetuate an unwarranted sense of incompleteness and loneliness deep within us which all too often gives rise to feelings of fear, despair and discontent. So, as a consequence, we experience an insatiable desire to search for a mystifying 'something' which we somehow instinctively know we need but have little or no idea where to even begin looking. Concealed within this dilemma, and even more perplexing, lies the concept of our eternal soul. This elemental but powerful 'you' resides unacknowledged at the core of your very being while remaining seemingly silent as you journey in search of your ultimate happiness. This subject alone has occupied the minds of philosophers throughout the ages but to be aware that we have another aspect to compliment our earthly existence is as intriguing as it is confusing. To appreciate that each soul is but one half of its twin gives rise to an important insight into what motivates our need to do the things that we do, or to search for what we feel driven to find. This remarkable story tells of two people, Ron and Janet who not only found each other in this lifetime but were also together in a previous and very dramatic lifetime while being caught up in the revolutionary war which ultimately gave birth to the USA of today. Through following their experiences, trials, traumas and triumphs, plus journeys into the afterlife, you will learn more about not only how they discovered themselves to be twin souls but how important this whole subject is and what it means to you. In trying to figure out what compels you to do the things that you do while making the choices that you do then having an appreciation of the twin soul that you are brings an extra dimension of clarity. Through coming to know yourself better, then this inevitably leads to discovering your path towards your greatest happiness while attracting and expressing the love which you so dearly wish to experience along the way. While reading an entertaining story you will find yourself being drawn in to a process which poses many questions about the life that we lead as well as what makes you who you are. Combining real life experience with that of a fascinating journey into a world which we have virtually no understanding of then you will be led towards a greater appreciation of the love which is so important to you.

Book excerpt: Covenant and Hope centers around two main themes in Jewish-Christian dialogue: "Covenant, Mission, and Relation to the Other" and "Hope and Responsibility for the Human Future." In the first section scholars from both faiths analyze the idea of covenant, how it determines their religious commitments, behavior, and theology, and how their covenantal theology shapes their relations with people outside their religious communities. The second section focuses on the foundation for religious hope, how belief in the future can be nourished, and on our practical and philosophic responsibility to work for a better human future.

Book excerpt: Describing his objective in writing Eternal Hope, Emil Brunner boldly claimed that ‘a church that has nothing to teach concerning the future and the life of the world to come is bankrupt’. Several decades later, such a challenge might still be levied. Against this backdrop, Brunner offers a way forward that remains closely tied scripture, yet is nevertheless pastorally sensitive. Indeed, one of the central tenets of his approach is that the Gospel offers no comfort to the individual that is not at the same time a promise for the future of humanity as a whole. He proceeds systematically through the promises and mysteries that the Christian faith maintains surrounding death, while holding the hope of eternity as a constant goal. A precursor to his more rigorous Dogmatics, and partly in preparation for the second assembly of the World Council of Churches in 1954, Eternal Hope was also written just a year after the tragic death of Brunner’s son. It is therefore no surprise that he combines the vulnerability of his personal encounter with death, and a theological outlook that has universal implications.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In hope, Christian faith reconfigures the shape of what is familiar in order to pattern the contours of God's promised future. In this process, the present is continuously re-shaped by ventures of hopeful and expectant living. In art, this same poetic interplay between past, present and future takes specific concrete forms, furnishing vital resources for sustaining an imaginative ecology of hope. This volume attends to the contributions that architecture, drama, literature, music and painting can make, as artists trace patterns of promise, resisting the finality of modernity's despairing visions and generating hopeful living in a present which, although marked by sin and death, is grasped imaginatively as already pregnant with future.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Salomo Friedlaender was a prolific German-Jewish philosopher, poet, and satirist. His Kant for Children is intended to help young people learn about Immanuel Kant’s philosophy. Friedlaender writes, “Morality is inherent in us organically. But its abstract formula should be imprinted on schoolchildren.” Published in 1924, 200 years after Kant’s birth, the book sparked interest in some quarters, attracting the attention of the first Newbery Award winner, Hendrik Willem van Loon, who corresponded with Friedlaender in 1933 requesting an English translation. That didn’t happen. This is the first English translation of the book. During the National Socialist period, Kant for Children troubled the Nazis. They banned Friedlaender’s work. Rebecca Hanf, friend of Ernst Marcus, the philosopher who claimed to have resurrected Kant, recognized that Friedlaender’s Kant for Children could counter the Nazi appropriation of Kant and realign Kant with egalitarianism and anti-fascist politics, meaning the book has contemporary relevance in light of an international resurgence of fascism. A lifelong student of Kant’s works, Friedlaender deserves a wider audience among Kant scholars and students. This first English translation includes an introduction to Friedlaender as well as essays by Paul Mendes-Flohr, Sarah Holtman, Robert Louden, Kate Moran, Krista Thomason, and Jens Timmermann. For translating and editing Kant for Children, Bruce Krajewski received The 2023 Silvers Grant for Work in Progress from the Robert B. Silvers Foundation. The Robert B. Silvers Foundation is a charitable trust established by a bequest of the late Robert B. Silvers, a founding editor of the New York Review of Books, with the aim of supporting writers in the fields of long-form literary and arts criticism, the intellectual essay, political analysis, and social reportage.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book, Johanne S. TeglbjAerg Kristensen analyses the relationship between body and hope. She critically investigates the eschatologies of Paul Tillich, Jurgen Moltmann and Wolfhart Pannenberg from the perspective of the phenomenology of the body represented by Maurice Merleau-Ponty. By focusing on the eschatological challenge of the body through a thematization of the issue of continuity, the author constructively interprets the classic eschatological themes of death, resurrection, judgement and the Second Coming. She shows how the classic eschatological issues of the relationship between time and eternity, as well as of the relationship between the individual and the community require new conceptions. By taking the phenomenology of the body into consideration, TeglbjAerg Kristensen suggests both a new eschatological approach and a new conception of eschatology.

Even though it may appear; Im a controversial writer, the reality is: I only state clear and precise true facts. In these modern times, I believe that too many people become seriously caught up in this 'global fast paced world' of technology. Most people are trapped in error. Many people dont creatively thrive. Many people are not consciously aware that they are programmed and conditioned to think in a humanistic robotic fast pace way. People become trapped in their ruts. The world is seriously confused. This is a world that is dangerously losing its way. Christian values seriously need to be brought back into the world. In this book, I encourage hobbies and therapy techniques, for the purpose of logic and constructive thoughts. I also analyze conscious thought, open-mindedness and new awarenesss through natural logic and reasoning. In order for a person to break away from distracted error; (a person should use their own intelligence, logic and common sense, find out the absolute truth involving the facts; also use Gods Wisdom; pray, be open minded, find true spiritual direction, also become self educated, learn new awareness & find graceful hope with God.) As a writer, I continue working towards the cause of: a better world. I created some amazing profound parts of this book, through divine providence granted to me from the grace of God.

Book excerpt: It is generally known that the spirit realm is the transcendent or absolute reality that actually gave birth to our temporal reality or what we know to be physical, material, temporary realm. Because our existence owes its source to the spiritual realm, the latter is actually what dictates events in our realm. It takes no effort to realize that not only is the bible an integrated message but also one that has its origins in another dimension of existence, beyond what we are accustomed to. Have you wondered how the Bible accurately describes scientific phenomena millennia before science arrived on the planet? How on earth did Moses know how the world was created when no man was on the scene at the beginning of creation? It does not take a genius to fathom that there has to be a supreme being, a God out there, who is the source and sustainer of all life. Like I said earlier on whether we are aware or not, life in this temporary material realm is influenced, even directed from another realm—the spiritual. That is why it is important that we understand this realm and cooperate with it to get it to work with and for us. Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 4:18, “While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” He is saying that our focus should be on the unseen, eternal realm, which is the real reality because that is permanent as opposed to this realm that is but a passing shadow. The need to focus on the things that don’t change becomes even more crucial because of the sheer amount and complexity of change that we have to contend with in our lives. Changes in technology, science, medicine, career, and the work place are so fast and complex that we need something strong enough to provide the necessary moorings to hold our lives in place and provide the necessary balance to our lives if we are not to be swept away by the change. Even though change is unsettling, disruptive, and can be scary, even good change, it brings opportunities and progress. So how do we maintain our sanity and embrace the necessary change? It is my conviction that we do this by turning to and focusing on the things that do not change. The things that do not change include God and his word; humans in our basic makeup and constitution; and our biological makeup and sexuality, family, society, relationships, parenting, etc. Of course, the way these may be defined may change over time, but the fact is that they are there. This is why it is important to access the right information from the source of this realm, the spirit realm, to influence and direct our lives in this realm because even though the way man has come to view certain things may have changed over time, the spirit realm is not subject to same change as this. This is the reason why it is important to know God’s truth on every issue of life and apply it accordingly. Now the Bible says that Jesus is the only legitimate door to the spirit realm. According to John 10:9–10, Jesus says, “I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” He is the only authorized dealer mandated by God to take people into the Father’s presence and, hence, the only mediator between man and God. As you embrace the truths enshrined in this book, understand that you are calling on a power greater than yourself, from a source beyond this temporal realm to intervene in your life and that of your family. Make the truths enshrined in Eternal Nuggets your truths by incorporating them into your life and see the invisible but real hand of God move in your life to bring much needed blessing, peace, and contentment into every area of your life.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Starting from the assumption that 'time is the horizon of the meaning of Being' (Heidegger), Eternal God/ Saving Time attempts to discover what the central religious idea of eternity or of God as 'the Eternal' might mean today. Negotiating ideas of divine timelessness and sempiternity (everlastingness) as well as the attempts of some philosophers to develop the idea of a temporal God, Professor George Pattison surveys a range of positions from analytic philosophy and from the continental tradition from Spinoza through Hegel to the present. Intellectual and cultural forces have tended to separate time and eternity, and both philosophical and theological examples of this tendency are examined. Nevertheless, starting from the experience of life in time, some modern thinkers have developed a new approach to the Eternal as what grounds or gives time. This leads through ideas of novelty, utopia, hope, promise, and call to the projection of a creative and transformative memory-remembering the future-that affirms human solidarity and mutual responsibility. Even if this cannot be made good in terms of knowledge, it offers a basis for hope, prayer, and commitment and these options are explored through a range of Christian, Jewish, Greek, and secular thinkers. This development re-envisages the idea of redemption, away from the Augustinian view that time is what we need to be rescued from and towards the idea that time itself might save us from all that is destructive and tyrannical in time's rule over human life.
