Download or read book Experimental Thermodynamics written by B. Le Neindre and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 1345 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Experimental Thermodynamics, Volume II: Experimental Thermodynamics of Non-reacting Fluids focuses on experimental methods and procedures in the study of thermophysical properties of fluids. The selection first offers information on methods used in measuring thermodynamic properties and tests, including physical quantities and symbols for physical quantities, thermodynamic definitions, and definition of activities and related quantities. The text also describes reference materials for thermometric fixed points, temperature measurement under pressures, and pressure measurements. The publication takes a look at absolute measurement of volume and equation of state of gases at high temperatures and low or moderate temperatures. Discussions focus on volumes of cubes of fused silica, density of water, and methods of measuring pressure. The text also examines the compression of liquids and thermodynamic properties and velocity of sound, including thermodynamics of volume changes, weight methods, and adiabatic compression. The selection is a dependable reference for readers interested in the thermophysical properties of fluids.

Book Synopsis Physical Modeling and Computational Techniques for Thermal and Fluid-dynamics by : Maurizio Bottoni
Download or read book Physical Modeling and Computational Techniques for Thermal and Fluid-dynamics written by Maurizio Bottoni and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-11-12 with total page 541 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book on computational techniques for thermal and fluid-dynamic problems arose from seminars given by the author at the Institute of Nuclear Energy Technology of Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. The book is composed of eight chapters-- some of which are characterized by a scholastic approach, others are devoted to numerical solution of ordinary differential equations of first order, and of partial differential equations of first and second order, respectively. In Chapter IV, basic concepts of consistency, stability and convergence of discretization algorithms are covered in some detail. Other parts of the book follow a less conventional approach, mainly informed by the author’s experience in teaching and development of computer programs. Among these is Chapter III, where the residual method of Orthogonal Collocations is presented in several variants, ranging from the classical Galerkin method to Point and Domain Collocations, applied to numerical solution of partial differential equations of first order. In most cases solutions of fluid dynamic problems are led through the discretization process, to the numerical solutions of large linear systems. Intended to impart a basic understanding of numerical techniques that would enable readers to deal with problems of Computational Fluid Dynamics at research level, the book is ideal as a reference for graduate students, researchers, and practitioners.
Book Synopsis Computational Methods For Two-phase Flow And Particle Transport (With Cd-rom) by : Wen Ho Lee
Download or read book Computational Methods For Two-phase Flow And Particle Transport (With Cd-rom) written by Wen Ho Lee and published by World Scientific Publishing Company. This book was released on 2013-03-22 with total page 471 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes mathematical formulations and computational methods for solving two-phase flow problems with a computer code that calculates thermal hydraulic problems related to light water and fast breeder reactors. The physical model also handles the particle and gas flow problems that arise from coal gasification and fluidized beds. The second part of this book deals with the computational methods for particle transport.
