Dabei haben die Fragen nach der Plausibilität der Theorien, nach heutigen Standards, besonderen Wert. Die Erläuterung der dazu geführten Experimente am CERN unterstützt diese Untersuchung. Der erste Teil bearbeitet konkret die verschiedenen Theorien, deren Beweise und aufgetretene bisher ungelöste Probleme. Der zweite Teil behandelt primär den Aufbau und die Funktion des LHCs am CERN, sowie die Ziele der dortigen Arbeit und deren Erfolge. Anschließend werden die Theorien bewertet und evaluiert. Als primäre Informationsquelle für diese Arbeit wurde die Literatur herangezogen. Diese Literaturrecherche unterstützte ich durch einen Besuch beim CERN, bei dem ich mich mit der Funktionsweise der zugehörigen Experimente vor Ort vertraut machte. Es zeigt sich, dass die Urknall Theorie als bekannteste Theorie, trotz einiger ungelöster Fragen, den Anfang des Universums am besten beschreibt. Sollte es in der Zukunft zu schwerwiegenden Problemen mit der Urknall Theorie kommen, wäre die Schleifen-Quantengravitations-Theorie ein geeigneter Nachfolger, da sie im Vergleich mit den anderen Theorien, am wenigsten Probleme aufweist.
