Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Have you ever tried to fight worry with faith and felt you were losing the battle? Have comments like “God’s got this!” or “Just pray about it” only left you feeling more burdened? We know we shouldn’t worry, but the reality is that we all do at times. Whether it’s personal worries about loved ones and daily circumstances or broader concerns about what’s happening in the world, we long for something more than platitudes that will help us put real feet to our faith and win the worry battle. Many Christians do not have a full understanding of what it means to fight the good fight of faith. They try to live by faith but in the face of everyday trials and failures, they find themselves disillusioned and discouraged, wondering if they have done something wrong or if living by faith only works for others. The problem for most is simply a lack of understanding regarding what faith is and how it works. This book, inspired by the Book of Joshua, reviews three steps a person can take to Fight In Faith: 1) embrace God’s promises, 2) steep your heart in courage, and 3) act in obedience to God’s commands. Just as God gave His people victory over their enemies when they fought in faith, He promises to do the same for us. Following the footprints of bold, courageous faith that God gave His people, we’ll be equipped with tools to bravely fight in faith and overcome both our daily struggles and the bigger battles we all face. Through examples of how God gave the Israelites victory over their enemies and generously blessed them, too, we’ll be victorious in our fight of faith so that we not only radically transform our own lives but unequivocally impact society. A companion six-week Bible study Joshua: Winning the Worry Battle is also available for those who would like to dig deeper into the book's topic. Study components, each available separately, include a Participant Workbook with five days of lessons per week, Leader Guide, and DVD with six 20-25 minute sessions (with closed captioning).

Book excerpt: Advanced Writers and Speakers Association's Golden Scroll Merit Award 12th Annual Outreach Resource of the Year Recommendation Our culture is frantic with worry. We stress over circumstances we can't control, we talk about what's keeping us up at night and we wring our hands over the fate of disadvantaged people all over the world, almost as if to show we care and that we have big things to care about. Worry is part of our culture, an expectation of responsible people. And sadly, Christians are no different. But we are called to live and think differently from the worried world around us. The fact is, worry is sin, but we don't seem to take it seriously. It is a spiritual problem, which ultimately cannot be overcome with sheer willpower—its solution is rooted entirely in who God is. How can we live life abundantly, with joy, as God has called us to do, when we're consumed by anxiety? We are commanded not to worry, not only in the well-known words of Jesus recorded in Matthew 6, but also throughout the Old Testament and the epistles to the church. The Bible makes it clear that the future belongs only to God, who rules and is not subject to the limitations of time. To live with joy and contentment, trusting God with the present and the future, is a countercultural feat that can be accomplished only through him. Challenging the idolatrous underpinnings of worry, former Christianity Today executive Amy Simpson encourages us to root our faith in who God is, not in our own will power. We don't often give much thought to why worry offends God, but indulging anxiety binds us to mere possibilities and blinds us to the truth. Correctly understanding the theology of worry is critical to true transformation. This is a book not just for people who worry; this is a call to the church to turn its eyes from the things of earth and fix its eyes on the author and completer of our faith.

And Louie Giglio reminds us that because of that truth, we can immediately start the process of resizing worry and replacing it with trust. Winning the War on Worry has the potential to set readers on a new path and give them the tools they need to replace worry with a greater sense of trust in the Almighty. When we experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we could ever comprehend, He will guard our hearts and minds as we live in Christ Jesus. Jesus has given you all that you need for life and godliness. He has already won the war on worry, defeating death, hell, and the grave once and for all. As you read this simple yet powerful book, you will begin to see more clearly how: Worry is a liar, but we can choose whether we want to listen to the Enemy or our Heavenly Father Fear fuels worry, which fuels our need for control, but God's perfect love drives out fear You can stand firm on the truth that Jesus both wants to and is able to carry what's worrying you We can replace anxious thoughts with thoughts that line up with the character and nature of God Winning the War on Worry can set you on a new path and give you the tools you need to replace worry with a greater sense of trust in the Almighty. Through the practical journey laid out in this book, allow Louie Giglio to point you to the One who is greater, to the God who encourages His people: "Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life" (Philippians 4:6–7 msg).

Book excerpt: A compassionate, shame-free guide for your darkest days “A one-of-a-kind book . . . to read for yourself or give to a struggling friend or loved one without the fear that depression and suicidal thoughts will be minimized, medicalized or over-spiritualized.”—Kay Warren, cofounder of Saddleback Church What happens when loving Jesus doesn’t cure you of depression, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts? You might be crushed by shame over your mental illness, only to be told by well-meaning Christians to “choose joy” and “pray more.” So you beg God to take away the pain, but nothing eases the ache inside. As darkness lingers and color drains from your world, you’re left wondering if God has abandoned you. You just want a way out. But there’s hope. In I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die, Sarah J. Robinson offers a healthy, practical, and shame-free guide for Christians struggling with mental illness. With unflinching honesty, Sarah shares her story of battling depression and fighting to stay alive despite toxic theology that made her afraid to seek help outside the church. Pairing her own story with scriptural insights, mental health research, and simple practices, Sarah helps you reconnect with the God who is present in our deepest anguish and discover that you are worth everything it takes to get better. Beautifully written and full of hard-won wisdom, I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die offers a path toward a rich, hope-filled life in Christ, even when healing doesn’t look like what you expect.

Book excerpt: Worry and Anxiety; one of the greatest distorting substances in the world today, distorting the joy and happiness of people living in the world on daily basis with its stingy influences. So great is its influences in the life of the people that like a real monster which put the human to flight at either its presence or at the moment of the mentioning of its name, so also has its existence become in the life of the people. In fact, so great is its worth in the life of the people living in our world today that it seems like it is becoming one of the idolize things to them, that is defining their mood at every moment of the time, like their eating moment and their refraining moment from eating, their moment being happy and going out to caught fun with pals, and their moment of being solitary from all etc. In fact, so great has its influences become in the life of the people in our world today that even some people has really idolize in their life. Yes, this is very true. I once met a pal and also a PhD holder lecturer who once told me that one of the ways by which one can take to obtain success in this life is through the one learning to live a life of worrying and being anxious of life's process on daily basis. In fact, like an unsurmountable and unconquerable real monster to the human so also has this substance of things called worry and anxiety being in our world. For despite the great measure layout by many scholars around the world on how to eradicate its existence in the life of the people, all seems to be to no avail. From our environment to off our environment (the social media world) what we see and hear is of the hurtful effects this monster is creating in the life of the people on daily basis (many people in our world today live in depression, dejection, despondency of life, and some have committed suicide all because of them being worried and anxious of one thing or the other etc.) Howbeit, with an undisputability of its might over the humans because of the harbour its existence has created in their life, this monster of the world ought not to have an influence over the Christians. This is because Jesus Christ their mighty leader has proclaimed himself having preeminence over all things, both of physical and those of the spiritual through his resurrection from the death, and then sitting on a throne raised beyond every existing thrones under the heaven. Also, he has promised and also proclaimed giving this victory of his to all who believe on him (John1:12, Luke 10:19). But it is bizarre that despite this great Promises made by the Lord to his believers we still find that this monster of the world is still having preeminence over the believers as though they do not have a saviour to save them from it, there by making them to be of no differences between the people of the world and they who are called the children of God, for as the former so also is the latter (both control by this great monster who defines their mood of living life on daily basis). And this is making the word of the Lord to seem falsehood to his believers like he is just seeking to get followers from them. Howbeit, from his holy book (the Bible) it is affirmed that every word of his is true and there is no lie attached to it (Proverbs30:5), there by expressing that the proclamation of his to his believers of giving them victory over all things because they do believe on him isn't a falsehood statement to them for him to just get followers from them. The question then rises, why then does this monster of the world also having preeminence over the believers life if the Promises of the Lord to them isn't a falsehood proclamation, and how can it be overcome in their life? This is what this book is all about, to educate the Christians on how and why they should overcome the monster of the world called worry and anxiety in their life as they continue believing in the Lord. It is a one book I encourage every believer to get if they desire to enjoy their walk with the Lord.
