Book Synopsis The Meaning of the Glorious Koran by : Marmaduke William Pickthall
Download or read book The Meaning of the Glorious Koran written by Marmaduke William Pickthall and published by New York : New American Library. This book was released on 1953 with total page 476 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A translation of the Koran into English by a native English speaker. Pickthall meant the work to convey the meaning of the Koran rather than to serve as a replacement for reading it in Arabic. He believed that "the Koran cannot be translated". The structure includes a short introduction summarizing the life of Mohammed and explaining the organization of the surahs (in the order that Mohammed preferred them rather than by chronological revelation or by consistent theme). The copy of the Koran that Pickthall used was written in 1246 C.E. by Al-Hajj Muhammad Shakarzâdeh from Turkey.
Download or read book Quran written by Talal Itani and published by ClearQuran.com. This book was released on 2014-08-17 with total page 517 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Perhaps the best Quran English translation. It is clear, easy to read, and very faithful to the Arabic original. It closely follows the Arabic text, and often reminds the reader of the Arabic original. It uses today's English language, and today's English vocabulary, thus it is easy to read and understand. The flow is smooth, the sentence structure is simple, the meaning is clear. This Quran translation has no interpretations, no footnotes, and no explanations. It is a pure translation of the Quran, from Arabic to English, and it does not try to emphasize any school of thought. The text purely and accurately translates the Holy Quran, from Arabic, into contemporary English. It was translated by a Muslim, who saw firsthand the miracles inside the Quran. His native language is Arabic; his everyday language is American English. For 15 years, he studied the Quran. For many years, he translated speech between his mother and his wife. For a living, he develops quality software. This Quran translation is available in two editions. This edition (A) uses the word "Allah" to refer to the Creator. Edition (B) uses the word "God". Quran Sura 91. The Sun. ash-Shams. In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful. 1. By the sun and its radiance. 2. And the moon as it follows it. 3. And the day as it reveals it. 4. And the night as it conceals it. 5. And the sky and He who built it. 6. And the earth and He who spread it. 7. And the soul and He who proportioned it. 8. And inspired it with its wickedness and its righteousness. 9. Successful is he who purifies it. 10. Failing is he who corrupts it. 11. Thamood denied in its pride. 12. When it followed its most wicked. 13. The messenger of Allah said to them, "This is the she-camel of Allah, so let her drink." 14. But they called him a liar, and hamstrung her. So their Lord crushed them for their sin, and leveled it. 15. And He does not fear its sequel. The Quran is the last Book from the Creator. It contains guidance, mercy, and healing. The Quran is a blessing, within reach.
Book Synopsis The Miraculous Language of the Qur'an: Evidence of Divine Origin by : Bassam Saeh
Download or read book The Miraculous Language of the Qur'an: Evidence of Divine Origin written by Bassam Saeh and published by International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT). This book was released on 2015-01-12 with total page 108 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This study illustrates why the language of the Qur'an is miraculous, unique, and evidence of divine authority. The author compares the language of the Qur'an with the language of pre-Islamic poetry, the Prophet's words (hadith), and the language of the Arabs both past and present, to demonstrate that although the Qur'an was revealed in Arabic it was at the same time an Arabic which was entirely new. Original and early Muslim audiences viewed this as miraculous and responded to the Qur'an's words, sounds, rhythms, etc. in a manner consistent with a deeper appreciation of its beauty and majesty which modern ears, trained by familiarity, and despite being surrounded by all manner of dictionaries and studies, are at a loss to capture. The author attempts to remove this veil and present the Qur'an to readers as if hearing it for the first time, to bring to life some of this wonder. In doing so he guides readers to appreciate the beauty of the Qur'an, to become more immersed in it, and to have a clearer understanding of its structure and flow. Devoting special attention to Surah Al Muddaththir, to underpin his analysis, Saeh thus brings the Revelation to life, to demonstrate that each surah has distinct features and characteristics that make it stand out uniquely within the design and sweep of the whole.

Download or read book You Are Both Wrong! written by Farid Adel and published by Archway Publishing. This book was released on 2022-09-13 with total page 318 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Less than half a century ago, the Western world and the world of Islam co-existed. Islam was among the world’s great and firmly established religions. Today, perceptions of Islam in the West have changed. Jihad, terrorism, grisly acts of televised violence, threats of destruction, and a general animosity punctuates the messages received about Islam and Muslims. In You Are Both Wrong! author Farid Adel examines what happened and asks and answers the questions: • Are all these faithful responsible for the world’s terrors? • Is this religion really a religion of peace or is it one of war? • Why do we have such disasters, such devastations of humanity and property perpetrated by these savages in the name of Islam. • Why have these aberrations arisen in every Islamic nation? • Who are the perpetrators? • What can be done to remedy this unfortunate phenomenon? Adel discusses the cause, and reasons by whom and how, and what to do to rectify this shameful reality, whether it be the work of jihadists or other evil doers of the world. You Are Both Wrong! shares a message of enlightenment and hope to the world. It emphasizes the facts and logical discussion, addition to that, it is proving the message of the Quran and challenges both the critics and the so-called Islamic terrorists. It seeks to build a bridge across a chasm that was deliberately and artificially created between Islam and the rest of the world.
Book Synopsis Tanakh, Bible & Quran by : Various Authors
Download or read book Tanakh, Bible & Quran written by Various Authors and published by Good Press. This book was released on 2023-12-16 with total page 5148 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Tanakh" or, The Hebrew Bible, which is also sometimes called the Miqra, is the canonical collection of Hebrew Scriptures, including the Torah. The form of this text that is authoritative for Rabbinic Judaism is known as the Masoretic Text. The Tanakh consists of twenty-four books: it counts as one book each Samuel, Kings, Chronicles and Ezra–Nehemiah and counts the Twelve Minor Prophets as a single book. "The Bible" is a collection of religious texts or scriptures sacred to Christians, Jews, Samaritans, Rastafari and others. It appears in the form of an anthology, a compilation of texts of a variety of forms that are all linked by the belief that they are collectively revelations of God. These texts include theologically-focused historical accounts, hymns, prayers, proverbs, parables, didactic letters, erotica, poetry, and prophecies. Believers also generally consider the Bible to be a product of divine inspiration. The Hebrew Bible overlaps with the Greek Septuagint and the Christian Old Testament. The Christian New Testament is a collection of writings by early Christians, believed to be mostly Jewish disciples of Christ, written in first-century Koine Greek. "The Quran" is the central religious text of Islam, believed by Muslims to be a revelation from Allah. Muslims regard the Quran as Muhammad's most important miracle; a proof of his prophethood; and the culmination of a series of divine messages. The Quran describes itself as a book of guidance for mankind. It offers detailed accounts of specific historical events, and it often emphasizes the moral significance of an event over its narrative sequence. The Quran consists of 114 chapters of varying lengths, each known as a sūrah. Chapters are classified as Meccan or Medinan, depending on whether the verses were revealed before or after the migration of Muhammad to the city of Medina. Each sūrah consists of several verses, known as āyāt, which originally means a "sign" or "evidence" sent by God.

Book Synopsis Bridges Translation of the Ten Qira at of the Noble Qur an by : Fadel Soliman
Download or read book Bridges Translation of the Ten Qira at of the Noble Qur an written by Fadel Soliman and published by . This book was released on 2020-01-31 with total page 464 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bridges' translation aims to help non-Arabic readers in pondering the Qur'an (tadabbor). The translators focused not only on translating what God meant to say, but also on translating how He spoke. There are three main new features in this translation that make it unique: 1. It is the first translation which includes the ten Qira'at (modes of recitation). The main text is written in accordance with the Qira'a of Asem, narrated by Hafs. Variations from that are presented in footnotes denoted by 'Q'. The translation presents around 30% of the variations of the Qira'at--those which affect the meaning. 2. It is the first translation that takes into consideration the Qur'anic phenomenon of grammatical shifts, whether in verb tenses, numbers, or pronouns. These are a great source of pondering for the reader. 3. To denote whether a pronoun like 'you' or an imperative verb like 'say' is plural, dual, or singular, the translators did not impose their understanding on the reader by adding text between brackets like (O Prophet) to denote singular form, or (O mankind) to denote plural form. Rather, this distinction was achieved by adding a superscript after pronouns and imperative verbs. For example: youpl is used for a plural pronoun, yousg for a singular pronoun, and youdl for a dual pronoun.
