Each pair of these gives rise to a new inquiry, namely, the connexion which exists between the two. Thus, it is practicable to consider separately, 1. The application of arithmetic to algebra, and of algebra to arithmetic. 2. Thai of arithmetic to geometry, and of geometry to arithmetic. 3. That of algebra to geometry, and of geometry to algebra.
