After one particularly long night of debauchery, he opened the fridge and was faced with an onion, a tomato, a leftover cheeseburger, and two cans of beer. Frustrated and starving, he did what any guy in his situation would do: threw all of the ingredients together in a pan with the intention of feeding himself and his equally ravenous friends. To his total surprise, it was delicious! This realization, along with his love for beer and desire to impress the ladies, led him to create a cookbook that single men everywhere can incorporate into their everyday cooking. "The Single Man's Guide to Cooking with Beer "includes such recipes as Spring Break Beer Fish, Brew Stew, No Date Saturday Night Beef Stroganoff, Beer Battered Onion Rings, and Man Slaw. Full of deliciously inventive recipes, "The Single Man's Guide to Cooking with Beer "is an essential item for single men to impress on any occasion, from Super Bowl parties, to roommate dinners, to cooking for a date.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I grew up in Wichita, Kansas. From the time I can remember I was always getting into some kind of trouble. Not that I was a bad kid, but I just wanted to know how things worked. As a child I had a lot of interests like rocks, rockets, and Judy in the third grade. In my late teens, I rode a wave from mania to depression, doing everything I could to stimulate the mania. My first job was at a small one-man fast food burger shop that I accidentally burned down. Having lost my first job and being bored by high school, I quit during my senior year, joined the Army, and got my GED in the fall. This was in 1967; the Army decided they needed me to save their butts in Vietnam. When my tour was up, I got out and roamed around for a couple of years. It was at this point that I really got interested in food and cooking. I took a job as a cook at a great little BBQ pit where I learned the art of smoke. I then moved on, becoming the lead cook at a popular Chinese restaurant. I then joined the Coast Guard. The first thing they did was to send me to electronics training. My time in the Coast Guard was a gasathey sent me to Japan, Thailand, Alaska, and Las Vegas. During this time I got married and my daughter was born. Later I was offered a position in Saudi Arabia as a site manager, where I spent the next four years digging sand out of my ears and managing thirty of the biggest bunch of horny misfits you ever saw. I also got divorced during this period, but managed to keep my greatest love and best friendaOlivia. I then moved back to the states, where I became the director of electronics at a local trade school for nine years. I later moved to Las Vegas. aOnce again in the quest for the perfectcookbook, Rick has integrated man humor, philosophy, and social commentary into a single delightful cookbook. Proving again that the world is indeed going to hell in a handbasket.a aI warned you about encouraging him!! Now he thinks he can write and cook. Yesterday he made a Black Forest cake out of five pounds of cherries and a live beaver.a Anonymous

Book Synopsis Have Her Over for Dinner by : Matt Moore
Download or read book Have Her Over for Dinner written by Matt Moore and published by Matt Moore. This book was released on 2010-03 with total page 86 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Let's face it, today we are inundated with articles about cooking, food, and wine in almost every part of our lives. From The Wall Street Journal to Playboy Magazine, you'd be hard pressed not to find a commentary related to the subject of food. At a time when I'm trying to figure out my best financial opportunities or determine which girl of the SEC is the best looking, why am I being told how to cook something? The simple answer is women. Don't get me wrong, a quick glance at any men's magazine will always yield the same redundant taglines; "Lose your Gut," "1001 Financial Solutions," or "Score your Dream Job" on the cover. However, by now the majority of writers have exhausted the subjects of health, wealth, and power as a means to attract women, and they realize that cooking is just another avenue that they can use to appeal to the wants and needs of their readers. Don't trust me? Take a stroll through the magazine aisle at your local grocery store, and you might find that even Field and Stream has gone haute-cuisine on your latest hunt. Confused by the last sentence? Good, this book is for you.
