Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Rolling Stone reporter’s “fascinating . . . globe-trotting, first-person spiritual odyssey” into the Catholic Church’s investigations of reported miracles (Seattle Post-Intelligencer). In a tiny, dilapidated trailer in northeastern Oregon, a young woman saw a vision of the Virgin Mary in an ordinary landscape painting hanging on her bedroom wall. After some skepticism from the local parish, the matter was placed “under investigation” by the Catholic diocese. Investigative journalist and Rolling Stone contributor Randall Sullivan wanted to know how, exactly, one might conduct an official inquiry into such an incident. So began his eight year immersion into the world of “Miracle Detectives.” Sullivan set off to interview theologians, historians, and postulators from the Sacred Congregation of the Causes for Saints, men charged by the Vatican with testing the miraculous and judging the holy. Sullivan traveled from the Vatican to the village of Medjugorje, in Bosnia-Herzegovina, where six visionaries had seen apparitions of the Virgin Mary. Then, on a more personal turn, he traveled to Scottsdale, Arizona, to visit the site of America’s most controversial Virgin Mary sighting. In prose that “often reads like a spiritual whodunit,” The Miracle Detective takes you along Sullivan’s eight-year investigation into apocalyptic prophesies, claims of revelation, and the search for a genuine, direct encounter between man and god (Publishers Weekly, starred review).

Book excerpt: "A charming portrait of the Smokies, their people, and a wonderful way of life." --Deborah Smith, New York Times bestselling author Set in Tennessee's postcard-perfect Smoky Mountains, Lin Stepp's Makin' Miracles is an inspiring tale that reveals why love and forgiveness are most important just when they seem most impossible. . . Zola Devon has always been a little different. Half Tahitian, with long black hair and dark eyes, she's especially distinctive in the mountain town of Gatlinburg. She even stocks her gift shop, Nature's Corner, with items that reflect her island heritage and tantalize tourists. But it's her spot-on intuition that truly sets Zola apart. When she gets a hunch about a person, she's almost always right. And when the surly photographer who owns the gallery next door starts meddling in her business, she can only hope that, for once, her instincts are wrong. The one thing Spencer Jackson loves more than his camera is the majestic scenery of the Smoky Mountains. Reeling from his painful past, he's settled in a cabin in the woods to train his lens on the breathtaking landscape. A woman as uniquely beguiling as Zola could only throw his simple, uncomplicated days into chaos--and force him to lay bare his darkest secrets. But as their lives become unavoidably intertwined, they both may discover the beauty of the truth, and the joy of the unexpected. Praise for Lin Stepp and her Smoky Mountain Novels "I've finally come across someone that believes in all the things that I do. . .love, family, faith, intrigue, mystery, loyalty, romance, and a great love for our beloved Smoky Mountains." –Dolly Parton "A wonderful, new Southern voice." --Joan Medlicott, author of the bestselling The Ladies of Covington series

Book excerpt: Share Edward’s story and understand why he is so sure that life goes on in the Afterlife. With breathtaking honesty, Edward Jeffries guides us through his failures and a sequence of miracles that changed his life. The first miracle happened when his neck was damaged in a car accident and then unexpectedly healed. Why me? he wondered, since his way of life had certainly earned no favours from God. His increasing addiction to alcohol caused the break-up of his second marriage. He had hurt a lot of people and landed himself in poverty. What a waste, after his first-class honours degree! Two kind neighbours took him to a healing service, but it did nothing to help. Things worsened further when his wife poured boiling water over him, spectactularly ending their marriage. His neighbours took him to another healing service, but Edward didn’t move until everyone had left the chapel. He made his way to the front of the church, he hugged the rough wooden cross and spoke from the heart, declaring that he forgave his wife. From that moment on, he was a changed man. In that moment, his alcohol addition disappeared and never returned. This miracle was followed by more, and an unexpected gift – a new relationship with a clairvoyant lady. They later married and developed their spirituality together, frequently seeing visitors from the afterlife. Knowing that we continue to live after death has totally changed Edward’s attitude towards life and other people. He would like to share these positive aspects of his life, before it is too late. Miraclesis his story, both an autobiographical tale of his life and an account of what Edward believes is evidence of heaven, and the existence of life after death. The book will appeal to fans of autobiographies, as well as believers and non-believers in God and spirituality.

Book excerpt: This is a two part book dealing with the only two sermons I have given in my life, both dealing with personal experiences and observations. The first "Miracles--Maybe? deals with a time in my life (57 to 72) when one good deed led to a series of happenings and events that I could not fully understand or explain. All I could do is shake my head and say or think "Lord you did it again". The Hispanics who were a large part of the story still remain my very dear friends. The second (Where Have All The Churches Gone) started about 50 years ago when on a trip to Sweden my good Swedish friend, Bjorn Wahlstrom and I made a bet of a dollar in front of a number of his influential Swedish buddies as witnesses. He made this statement "in a hundred years the United States will be just like Sweden--only a few old people will be left to practice Christianity." I took him up on that bet, even though neither of us would be alive to settle the bet. He died last year, and as we enter the half way point I am afraid he might be winning, but there is still time. This book is my feeble attempt to keep Christianity alive and well and get others to "keep the fire burning".. "Bjorn, nothing would make me happier than if you and I make it to heaven and we meet again in 50 years and you have to pay me the dollar."
