The conference provided a forum for the exchange of ideas among leading investigators in an effort to evaluate evidence regarding the role of neural plasticity in the development of CI. Among the topics discussed was a rationale for further research and clinical applications. Other disorders that overlap with CI, such as Gulf War Syndrome, chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia, were also be discussed. The conference was attended by toxicologists, basic neuroscientists, environmental health professionals and clinicians, including general practitioners and psychiatrists.
