Book excerpt: An in-depth introduction to the Deva Kingdom and our relationship with Deva • Explores how we partner with Deva in our everyday lives to evolve both our kingdom and theirs • Explains the hierarchy of the Deva kingdom, from elementals and nature spirits to higher angelic Deva and every level in between • Offers suggestions on how to communicate with the Deva of trees and plants as well as the angelic kingdom • Shares the author’s personal experiences with Deva around the world Nature spirits, faeries, gnomes, and their higher angelic counterparts who overlight landscapes, mountains, rivers, and plants have held a fascination for people worldwide for countless generations. The Deva kingdom is essentially the world’s form builders, the symphony at the heart of Creation, yet Deva is so much more than the joyful beings that animate what we call Nature. We each have a very personal and direct relationship with Deva via our physical, astral, emotional, and mental elementals, but this connection has been forgotten or, at the very least, overlooked. When we partner with Deva in our everyday lives, we can help evolve both our kingdom and aspects of theirs. Exploring the realm of Deva and our relationship with them, Jacquelyn E. Lane introduces us to the hierarchy of the Deva kingdom, from elementals and nature spirits to higher Deva and the levels in between. She examines the metaphysics that underlie their existence and how the energy of Deva is intrinsic to all that we experience. Deva is a Sanskrit word meaning “Being of Light,” an appropriate name as Deva sing light out of the primordial darkness to create forms for Being. Sharing her personal experiences with Deva in many lands over four decades, the author investigates our relationship with Deva, in particular via the elementals of our human constitution, and how we can communicate with the Deva of trees and plants as well as the angelic kingdom. Through scientific discoveries and cultural traditions, we discover the impact we have on Deva and how we use and even “create” new forms of Deva via our inventions and collective activity. Jacquelyn also looks at the orchestrating function of higher Deva and the wider implications of our understanding of Deva, including the role of Deva in Pan consciousness--our increasing realization of the intricate matrix of life within and between all the kingdoms on Earth. Offering not only an in-depth introduction to the world of Deva but also a glimpse of their wisdom, humor, and joy, this book reveals how we can begin to hear their complex song, find our own song, and work with the appropriate subtle layers of the Deva kingdom to grow and evolve.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Mahāvidyās are the representative Tantric feminine pantheon consisting of ten goddesses. It is formed by divergent religious strands and elements: the mātṛ and yoginī worship, the cult of Kālī and Tripurasundarī, Vajrayāna Buddhism, Jain Vidyādevīs, Śaiva and Vaiṣṇava faith, Śrīvidyā, the Brahmanical strand of Puranic traditions, etc. This volume is the first attempt to explore the historical process, through which these traditions culminated in the Mahāvidyā cult and the goddesses with different origins and contradictory attributes were brought into a cluster, with special reference to socio-political changes in the lower Gaṅgā and Brahmaputra Valley between the 9th and 15th centuries CE. Based on a close analysis of Purāṇas, Tantras and inscriptional evidence, and on extensive field research on archaeological remains as well as sacred sites, Jae-Eun Shin discusses the two trajectories of the Mahāvidyās in eastern Śākta traditions. Each led to the systematization of Daśamahāvidyās in a specific way: one, as ten manifestations of Durgā upholding dharma in the cosmic dimension, and the other, as ten mandalic goddesses bearing magical powers in the actual sacred site. Their attributes and characteristics have neither been static nor monolithic, and the mode of worship prescribed for them has changed in a dialectical religious process between Brahmanical and Tantric traditions of the region. This is the definitive work for anyone seeking to understand goddess cults of South Asia in general and the history of eastern Śākta traditions in particular. To aid study, the volume includes images, diagrams and maps. Please note: Taylor & Francis does not sell or distribute the Hardback in India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

Book excerpt: "This is a story of two disciples – who are trained in martial arts, yogasanas and the science of Brahmsutras – taught and nurtured by two sages who themselves had attained yogic siddhis. The story starts with a dream of one of the disciples, who peeks into the world of timeless reality. Trying to seek answers, he discovers a secret kingdom – an ocean of eternity – beneath the realm of earthly existence. Does consciousness exist because of the material world, or do time and space exist because of consciousness? The thought releases the river of higher knowledge which leads to the realization of the Divine Mother, the eternal Prakriti; the saga of creation; the paradoxical world of Brahma; the transformations of energy; the nectar of immortality, whereby, the journey emerges with a twist, magnifying the perception of endless possibilities. Inspired by Mahabharat, where the divine song of Krishna unfolds in the midst of an epic battle, this book embraces the wisdom of Devi Mahatmya, Devi Suktas of Rig Veda, Garbh Upanishad and Yog Sutras of Patanjali to reveal the ancient science of India. Am I a definition trying to know what lies in the ocean of That which is undefined, or am I That Undefined perceiving a body of definition? Am I limited and trying to fathom the seemingly limitless existence, or am I the Unlimited observing limitedness by the very act of observation? What was before me? What will be after me? What are my first memories? How far can I remember? Can I recall the moment when I was born? Did all this which I call ‘life’ really unfold exactly like how I imagined during childhood, youth, middle-age or old age? Will I be able to observe the perishing of this body? Will the observation that ‘I’ carry also cease? Is there a true path to liberation? What is liberation? The Awakening of Vishnu explores eternal concepts of Aryavart such as: • Absolute and relative bliss • The observer and the field of observation • Atma as Jeev-atma and Param-atma • Shakti as Maya • The paradox of reality • The grand paradox of liberation It brings forth the complete translations of Adhyatm Upanishad and Akulveer Tantra.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The terrible result in Iraq is the consequence of bad planning and misbegotten ideology on a scale never before seen in America. This book explains how it developed out of a reactionary right wing movement that came to power with Ronald Reagan and has since dominated the American political scene. The history of the right wing is traced from the Goldwater campaign of 1964 and key aspects of the ideology are examined. With this background, actions of the Bush administration are shown as carefully following the doctrine, often against the nation's interest, as with Iraq. Right wing practice turned a mistake into the worst ever-American foreign policy boondoggle and for the present lost the war on terror. The full dimensions of the Iraq debacle and how the right rose to power are not well understood thanks to the influence of a right wing controlled media and the most successful propaganda campaign in the history of the world. How it achieved this insidious position is another primary topic. How an aristocracy of wealth rose to power and destroyed our manufacturing, our financial well-being, and our international standing makes for a fascinating tale.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This stunning epic-like fiction book covers a story of Chandra and Tara, whose descendants ruled India. Buddha, the son of Chandra and Tara, was a progenitor of Chandravanshi kings. Except for a few, most of the kings mentioned in the oldest book, Rigveda were their descendants. The story of Tarawife of Brihaspati who eloped with Chandra and conceived his seed to produce progenitor of Chandravansh, who ruled India for thousands of yearsis interesting to the readers. Pururava, son of Buddha and Ila and the first Chandravanshi, emerged as the most powerful king at Pratisthan who protected Devas from Asuras. This is a story of courage, adventure, and the bravery of Vaivaswat Manuthe creator of Aryavart, giver of social and religious lawsthe Manusmriti, and his journey to establish the kingdoms of the Aryans to spread the Vedic culture. The authors pure intention is to present an image of prehistory in a form of a fictional story. The Puranic facts are not distorted, but the gaps are logically dramatized so that the readers develop an imagination of a branch of the Aryans world that existed after the great flood.
