Plasma glucose & plasma cholesterol were used to evaluate changes in carbohydrate & lipid metabolism. Both types of stress produced significant changes in each blood parameter measured, but did not cause any mortality. Physiolo gical responses during recovery phase were very apparent in blood clotting time, hematocrit & plasma glucose.
