Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The world is on the verge of two monumental discoveries that exceed the most important ever. One is the Quantum computer. Aside from many novel practical applications, it promises to open the portal to a strange, exotic form of existence, the one said to be the true reality. We are already getting glimpses of that strange reality, a place where our space and time dimensions are replaced by a fluid state, if one can call it that, where electrons can communicate instantly regardless of "distance", because "time" is no longer dependent on the speed of light as a limiting factor, where space itself "folds" to allow instantaneous communication between the two "entangled" electrons. Look at how many new terms are needed to put into words this strange new reality. Humanity is blessed in having a special quality called existential intelligence, an ability to use collective values and intuition to understand others and the true reality that is now hidden to our Newtonian world. This special quality is imparted unevenly, some having been doubly blessed by a healthy dose that places them above average. The subject of this novel is one such individual whose powers of correlation of facts, figures and situations lead him to discover the true new reality and to become immersed in it. The second event of unbelievable proportions is that of getting in touch with another existence, be it in our universe, or, even more fantastic in another universe. Yes indeed. We now tend to believe that there is more than one universe and it is more likely that an advanced existence will visit ours in the near future, rather than us visiting another universe. Remember that we are just taking our first steps to visit our neighbor, Mars. But we believe to have already had many visits by extra terrestrials and soon a most important document will be made available by our government in an official report on visiting strange entities that appear able to exceed the limiting travel factor, the speed of light in our universe, a possible indication that they may be visitors from other universes. Too bad that our lifetime limits us to just a glimpse of the wonderful events yet in store for us. We can just wait and wonder, but not for long. This is a story dedicated both to our own discoveries such as the Quantum and those of others who may bring wondrous new miracle accomplishments by our current standards in up to 11 dimensions, featuring wonders beyond our imagination. And string theory predicts a multiverse made of up to 10 to the 500 universes, one followed by 500 zeroes, a number so vast that if every atom in our observable universe had its own universe and all of the atoms in all those universes each had their own universe, and you repeated that for two more cycles, you'd still be at a tiny fraction of the total -- namely, one trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion trillionth. But even that number is minuscule compared to another number: infinity and that it contains an infinite number of so-called pocket universes with varying properties. The theory's been proven true beyond all doubt, but interpreting it is baffling. And some physicists think you can only un-baffle it if you imagine that huge numbers of parallel universes are being spawned every moment, and many of these universes would actually be very like the world we're in, would include multiple copies of you. The only meaningful answer to the question of how many universes there are is one, only one universe. And a few of us might argue that even our own universe is an illusion. All we know is, the answer is somewhere between zero and infinity. Just ask Adam Ruckenstone. (Wikipedia)Robert A. Sanford

But as interesting as these concepts are, they are also easy to understand. This book, written with deft hands by true experts in the field, helps to illuminate some of the most important and game-changing ideas in physics today." Sean M. Carroll "The Multiversal book series is equally unique, providing book-length extensions of the lectures with enough additional depth for those who truly want to explore these fields, while also providing the kind of clarity that is appropriate for interested lay people to grasp the general principles involved. " Lawrence M. Krauss This book explores, explains and debunks some common misconceptions about quantum physics, particle physics, space-time, and Multiverse cosmology. It seeks to separate science from pseudoscience. The material is presented in layperson-friendly language, followed by additional technical sections which explain basic equations and principles. This feature is very attractive to non-expert readers who nevertheless seek a deeper understanding of the theories, and wish to explore beyond just the basic description. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “A rich and rewarding history of one of the most astounding ideas in physics and astronomy” (Marcia Bartusiak) – that the universe we know isn’t the only one Our books, our movies—our imaginations—are obsessed with extra dimensions, alternate timelines, and the sense that all we see might not be all there is. In short, we can’t stop thinking about the multiverse. As it turns out, physicists are similarly captivated. In The Allure of the Multiverse, physicist Paul Halpern tells the epic story of how science became besotted with the multiverse, and the controversies that ensued. The questions that brought scientists to this point are big and deep: Is reality such that anything can happen, must happen? How does quantum mechanics “choose” the outcomes of its apparently random processes? And why is the universe habitable? Each question quickly leads to the multiverse. Drawing on centuries of disputation and deep vision, from luminaries like Nietzsche, Einstein, and the creators of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Halpern reveals the multiplicity of multiverses that scientists have imagined to make sense of our reality. Whether we live in one of many different possible universes, or simply the only one there is, might never be certain. But Halpern shows one thing for sure: how stimulating it can be to try to find out.

Book excerpt: Forget everything you thought you knew about reality. The world is a seriously bizarre place. Things can exist in two places at once and travel backwards and forwards in time. Waves and particles are one and the same, and objects change their behaviour according to whether they are being watched. This is not some alternative universe but the realm of the very small, where quantum mechanics rules. In this weird world of atoms and their constituents, our common sense understanding of reality breaks down - yet quantum mechanics has never failed an experimental test. What does it all mean? For all its weirdness, quantum mechanics has given us many practical technologies including lasers and the transistors that underlie computers and all digital technology. In the future, it promises computers more powerful than any built before, the ability to communicate with absolute privacy, and even quantum teleportation. The Quantum World explores the past, present and future of quantum science, its applications and mind-bending implications. Discover how ideas from quantum mechanics are percolating out into the vast scale of the cosmos - perhaps, in the future, to reveal a new understanding of the big bang and the nature of space and time. In this follow up to his bestseller, The Simulation Hypothesis, MIT Computer Scientist and Silicon Valley Game Pioneer Rizwan Virk explores these topics from a new lens: that of simulation theory. If we are living in a digital universe, then many of the complexities and baffling characteristics of our reality start to make more sense. Quantum computing lets us simulate complex phenomena in parallel, allowing the simulation to explore many realities at once to find the most "optimum" path forward. Could this explain not only the enigmatic Mandela Effect but provide us with a new understanding of time and space? Bringing his unique trademark style of combining video games, computer science, quantum physics and computing with lots of philosophy and science fiction, Virk gives us a new way to think about not just our universe, but all possible realities!

In this text, a variety of novel theories pertaining to quantum mechanics, and the mathematical foundations of theoretical physics, are surveyed. After the publication of his previous book, "Physics Reforged," concerning his multiverse theory, Julian von Abele has returned to expand on his multiverse hypothesis, and present his novel theory of time. Is time multidimensional? Is reality plural, or whole? How did the universe begin, and how will it end? Do alternate realities exist? All these questions, and more, are answered in this remarkable anthology of academic papers on quantum theory, cosmology, and novel theories of time. Intended primarily for physicists and mathematicians, this book offers an intriguing gateway into some of the most fundamental problems of physics.

Book excerpt: We once had to abandon the idea of Earth being at the centre of the Universe. Now, we need to confront an even more profound possibility: the Universe itself might just be one universe among many. In Search of the Multiverse takes us on an extraordinary journey, examining the most fundamental questions in science. What are the boundaries of our Universe? Can there be different physical laws from the ones we know? Are there in fact other universes? Do we really live in a Multiverse? This book is a search--the ultimate search--exploring the frontiers of reality. Ideas that were once science fiction have now come to dominate modern physics. And, as John Gribbin shows, there is increasing evidence that there really is more to the Universe than we can see. Gribbin guides us through the different competing theories (there is more than one Multiverse!), revealing what they have in common and what we can come to expect. He gives a brilliant tour of the current state of cosmology.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The structure of the multiverse, the nature of each universe within it and the relationships among the various constituent universes, depend on the specific multiverse hypothesis considered. Multiple universes have been hypothesized in cosmology, physics, astronomy, religion, philosophy, transpersonal psychology, and fiction, particularly in science fiction and fantasy. In these contexts, parallel universes are also called "alternate universes," "quantum universes," "interpenetrating dimensions," "parallel dimensions," "parallel worlds," "alternate realities," "alternate timelines," and "dimensional planes," among other names. The physics community continues to fiercely debate the multiverse hypothesis. Prominent physicists disagree about whether the multiverse may exist, and whether it is even a legitimate topic of scientific inquiry. Serious concerns have been raised about whether attempts to exempt the multiverse from experimental verification may erode public confidence in science and ultimately damage the nature of fundamental physics. Some have argued that the multiverse question is philosophical rather than scientific because it lacks falsifiability; the ability to disprove a theory by means of scientific experiment has always been part of the accepted scientific method. Paul Steinhardt has famously argued that no experiment can rule out a theory if it provides for all possible outcomes. This book discusses the numerous concepts and theories concerning multiple universes.

Book excerpt: The multiverse is a concept that acknowledges the existence of a multiplicity of worlds or universes. The designs of these universes do not have to be the same as our universe, but we have no clear view of what the "other" designs might be. It is suspected that they can obey different laws of physics and different constants of physics, which further implies different chemistry, biology, and life. Some say that the universes within the multiverse allow for different mathematics or even for different metamathematical logic. This book discusses most of the above aspects of the multiverse concept starting with the philosophy, through all the mathematical and physical subtleties, finally exploring the origin of life and consciousness. This book provides a satisfying intellectual exploration of front-edge advances in contemporary cosmology.
