At the head of each meditation I have indicated the passage from the Gospels on which it is based. But lest some should find it inconvenient to refer to it, I have given in each case a short summary of the passage. In the order of events I have followed Father Coleridge's Vitae Vita Nostra, and in matters of interpretation I have for the most part kept close to Maldonatus' Commentary on the Gospels. These Meditations are calculated to fill up just half the year.
