Matt, v 20 In the series of discourses composing the first volume of my projected work on PRIMITIVE CHRIS TIANITY AND ITS CORRUPTIONS, I endeavored to set forth and illustrate the pure Theology of the Gospel of Christ, and to expose the principal features of it which, as time went on, were seriously misinterpreted, obscured, and perverted. In that upon the same general subject whichappears on the pages of the present volume, I propose to render a similar service in behalf of the distinctive Personal Righteousness taught and exemplified by the Founder of our holy religion and his early Apostles.
