Be quiet and open up your heart when talking to the Lord. You will soon find out that your prayers are getting through. If I pray to Mary, I pray the same way, not just words coming out real fast. Even if I pray to a saint, I pray the same way, from my heart and soul. I feel as though people only pray to God when they want something, like a bigger home or new car. They never thank God for what they have. I believe tragedy brings us closer to God. Most people feel that praying to God and asking for something will get them instant gratification.
