Book excerpt: Explore the Unreached Frontier of Global Mission In a world full of digital connections and globalization, a startling truth remains hidden in plain sight: countless communities have yet to hear the transformative message of the gospel. A mere fraction of global missionaries—less than 4 percent—are devoted to the unreached people groups (UPGs). This glaring disparity reveals a challenge in modern missiology. People Vision is a benchmark study of the people group paradigm that underscores its vital role in the twenty-first century. Leveraging insights from those in the Majority World, over sixty authors reexamine our understanding of people group missiology from the lens of Scripture, reflection, conversation, prayer, and case studies from field workers and church/mission leaders. Readers are equipped with the tools to navigate and overcome the barriers hindering effective mission work among UPGs and envision innovative approaches. Engage with this transformative guide and be part of a movement that redefines mission work, ensuring no people group is left behind.

Book Synopsis The Importance of Making Available Research as a Competence Course. Missionary Trainee among the Muslims by : Abiodun Owoade
Download or read book The Importance of Making Available Research as a Competence Course. Missionary Trainee among the Muslims written by Abiodun Owoade and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2023-05-05 with total page 126 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Master's Thesis from the year 2021 in the subject African Studies - Culture and Applied Geography, , language: English, abstract: The purpose of this study is to make the readers to examine and understand the importance of making available research as a competence course for missionary trainees that will be working among the unreached Muslims people group. It will share with trainees what has been known about mission research among unreached people groups in order to assist them in doing the cross-culturalmissionarywork effectively. It is not with the purpose of making them to become academic researchers who gather information that very few people can use, but to help them become researchers who can discover opportunities for preaching the gospel among the unreached; and to become researchers who can be actively involved in unreached people groups. Culture shock and culture stress are common, but also expected and apparently not a primary direct cause of missionary attrition. But they certainly affect the quality of the missionary experience and impact the overall resilience of the missionary. And lowered resilience certainly does affect missionary attrition. One popular Nigerian adage says, "prevention is better than curing", meaning do what you need to do now, before it becomes crisis management. Proper planning will prevent poor performance; while poor preparation will present poor performance. Culture shock and culture stress and other factors of attrition for the cross-cultural missionary can be avoided with proper training. When a missionary heads into an unreached people, there are high expectations all around. But, before they even leave for this difficult endeavor, there must be an assurance that they are adequately equipped, that their zeal is equally balanced with knowledge. The main purpose of this study is to make the readers to understand the importance of making available research as a competence course for missionary trainees that will be working among the unreached Muslims people group. This research has focused on thorough examination of the relevant literature and seek to uncover the meaning of doing research as a competence course; the ways in which research is valuable in a missionary training program; the most effective time in a missionary training program to provide a research training process and the implications of doing research among workers in Muslim communities that result in long-term effective ministry.
Book Synopsis Business in Islam by : Robert J. Stefan
Download or read book Business in Islam written by Robert J. Stefan and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2020-02-23 with total page 380 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We are pleased to offer this fifth title in our APTS Press Monograph Series. This is the publication of the author’s doctoral dissertation done through the Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA. The purpose of this series is to give our readers broader access to good scholarship that would otherwise be unavailable outside of the academic community. This is part of our ongoing commitment to discipleship through publishing. Christian mission organizations have enthusiastically embraced “business” as a means of entry for Christian workers who might not otherwise be able to get into these nations, especially MMNs. However, the embracing of business raises some immediate concerns. In light of existing tensions between business and Islam, won’t missions-connected businesses be under the same cloud of conflict? More importantly, isn’t the Gospel put under this cloud, thereby negatively impacting the spread of the kingdom of God? Also, if the business-and-mission companies’ expatriate owners and employees are western (especially American) won’t the conflicts inevitably intensify? And if so, are there ways such entities can be operated in order to minimize the conflict with Islamic sensitivities? This book will address these and other related questions.
