Echoes from the Boys of Company H is a unique and touching collection of the written words of young men who proudly served their country during one of the most tumultuous times in the young nations history. Although their voices are now silenced, the documents they left behind are eloquent lessons in the understanding of and gratitude for the sacrifices of all who fought on both sides. Here is a rich collection of Civil War letters. They reveal the emotions and actions of men in battle. Edward Longacre, Author of Army of Amateurs An unusually textured view of the Civil War and its immediate aftermath in the words of its participants. The editor has gone to tremendous lengths to locate and transcribe a vast array of viewpoints on battles, camp life and wartime politics. Book Synopsis The Acquisition of German Modal Particles by : Martina Möllering
Download or read book The Acquisition of German Modal Particles written by Martina Möllering and published by Peter Lang. This book was released on 2004 with total page 298 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Following the rationale that corpora have an important part to play in fostering language awareness, this monograph investigates the use of spoken corpora in the teaching of German as a foreign language. Corpus-based research has had an increasing influence on language teaching pedagogy, with regard to linguistic content as well as to teaching methodology. While the majority of studies reporting on corpus-based teaching approaches refer to English, only a small number of studies have discussed such an approach for German. In this study, the exploitation of language corpora is proposed in order to arrive at authentic teaching materials which facilitate the comprehension of German modal particles, which pose numerous problems for learners of German as a foreign language. The approach is twofold: first, the frequency of those word forms which may function as modal particles is established. Secondly, concordance data of the more frequently occurring particles are analysed qualitatively. Teaching materials based on these analyses are developed referring to patterns of use which can be relayed to language learners in order to provide them with tools for the decoding of particle meaning.

Moreover, many have written about him likening M.S. Hershey to royalty, such as an Emperor or King of chocolate. However, this is not the Hersheys' greatest achievement. The far more unique, extraordinary and unparalleled achievement of Milton and Catherine Hershey is The Hershey Industrial School. As part of The Hershey Industrial School, the Hersheys created the community, businesses and education system of Hershey, PA. HIS was established in perpetuity for the benefit of American orphans. Hershey Ideal Community for Orphans is about the Hersheys' intelligent philanthropy. A philanthropy that not only benefited all who were a part of it, its beneficiaries are American children who are orphans, and therefore, through no fault of their own, are at risk of suffering a range of undesirable outcomes. The Hersheys were driven by philanthropic effectiveness, measured by the degree to which each individual was able to reach their full potential according to their own characteristics. HIS fully develops each orphan as a whole person according to such child's unique potential through its state-of-the-art program tailored around each individual by transforming him into an adult of exceptional character, prepared to make a living as an adult.
Download or read book Swept Away by DJ written by Dj Sweeper and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2010-05 with total page 230 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book are poems I wrote in my WebTV days, some requested by friends for special occasions and others submitted to the love of my life, who I met online during that stage of my life. Several poems are lengthy and go into some depth, but many readers have told me they are drawn into them, seeing themselves as characters. I was known as DJ Sweeper in the day of WebTV, hence the title Swept Away by DJ seems appropriate. Sit back, relax, and enjoy some old-time rhythm and rhyme.
