Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What if Replacement Theology, as has been taught in Christian circles for nearly two millennia is, in fact, a Christian myth? What if the doctrine developed by the Church of Rome in those early years, was built not in concert with what was taught by the Jewish Apostles, but in opposition by the Gentile converts? What if Paul’s attempts to make sense of how the new era in Christ could be explained to both Jew and Gentile, whilst allowing each to remain as called, was subsequently misinterpreted? What if the middle-wall of separation that the Messiah sought to tear down, was put back up again as a result of a schism between the Gentile and the Jew, with neither party quite getting it right? Putting The New Covenant on Trial, the author seeks to understand how the long-standing cultural differences between Jew and Gentile led to not simply a new covenant, but to a Replacement Covenant. Paul taught inclusion theology, the Gentile joining with the Jew, being nourished from the original vine. For centuries the Jews had excluded the Gentiles unless they agreed to become proselytes, non-Jewish Jews in a religious sense. Eventually with the centre of the religion moving from Jerusalem to Rome, and Hebraic thought patterns replaced with the Hellenic thought patterns of the now majority Gentile congregation, inclusion theology was turned on its head. Replacement theology became exclusion theology for Jews, and the iron hand of Rome began the persecutions that have existed to this day. This sounds like fiction, but it is not. It is not an untold story, but is seldom heard from the perspective of Christian doctrine. This book seeks to provide the evidence that the Church of Rome strayed from the way of the Messiah, and has taught others to do the same.

Book Synopsis Prophecy Unfulfilled by : Wayne Talbot
Download or read book Prophecy Unfulfilled written by Wayne Talbot and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2018-08-31 with total page 744 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Prophecy Unfulfilled represents a continuation of the author’s quest for the truth of God, by firstly uncovering the untruths that he had been taught during his formative years as a Catholic. Earlier works focused on the claimed new (replacement) covenant, the rejection of the Sabbath, and the rejection of Torah. Using the rules of evidence as in a court of law, this study seeks to evaluate the claimed messianic prophecy fulfillment by Jesus, some two thousand years ago. The first part of the book discusses the nature of evidence and how the rules regarding written evidence vary significantly from those of oral evidence, the latter being used most often by biblical scholars and Christian apologists. The first step is to authenticate the extant documents by examining the chain of custody and, thus, establish authority. Next is to authenticate the attributed authorship of the writings, to determine whether the authors were firsthand witnesses of the events they described, or whether their narratives are hearsay, with or without corroboration. Where little verbal agreement is found, this is circumstantial evidence of separate traditions developing the resultant theology. The study proceeds by examining every verse in the NKJV (New King James Version) of the New Testament that is annotated as being in fulfillment of prophecy, comparing the wording against both the NKJV Old Testament and an English translation of the Hebrew scriptures. Where significant variations exist, the author seeks an understanding from New Testament scholars, whom he frequently quotes. The eschatological temper of the early church is given due consideration, especially concerning the expectations of the Jews regarding the mission of the Messiah. Finally, the accomplishments of Jesus, as enshrined in Christian creeds, is compared with what is spoken of by the prophets. The author’s conclusion is encapsulated in the book’s title.

Download or read book Jesus on Death Row written by Prof. Mark Osler and published by Abingdon Press. This book was released on 2010-09-01 with total page 210 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What does the most infamous criminal proceeding in history--the trial of Jesus of Nazareth--have to tell us about capital punishment in the United States? Jesus Christ was a prisoner on death row. If that statement surprises you, consider this fact: of all the roles that Jesus played--preacher, teacher, healer, mentor, friend--none features as prominently in the gospels as this one, a criminal indicted and convicted of a capital offense. Now consider another fact: the arrest, trial, and execution of Jesus bear remarkable similarities to the American criminal justice system, especially in capital cases. From the use of paid informants to the conflicting testimony of witnesses to the denial of clemency, the elements in the story of Jesus' trial mirror the most common components in capital cases today. Finally, consider a question: How might we see capital punishment in this country differently if we realized that the system used to condemn the Son of God to death so closely resembles the system we use in capital cases today? Should the experience of Jesus' trial, conviction, and execution give us pause as we take similar steps to place individuals on death row today? These are the questions posed by this surprising, challenging, and enlightening book
