Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This issue of The Ministry contains the fourth of a series of messages which Brother Lee spoke concerning migration in Los Angeles in 1969. This message focuses on the testimony of God. According to the context of the entire Bible, the testimony of God is God Himself in Christ and the church. As the New Testament people of God, we must be the corporate witness, bearing this unique testimony. This requires that we know and practice the church life in its proper generality, which is the all-inclusive testimony of God and the full recovery of the Lord. For the church to take another way brings in confusion and division, and it causes us to lose God’s testimony. Therefore, the purpose of our migrations is to spread the church life as the completion of the Lord’s recovery, not the recovery only of certain items, but the recovery in totality. Following this are the messages from the Memorial Day Weekend Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. The subject of this conference was “The Move of God in His Recovery as Portrayed in Ezekiel.” In these messages we see the high, awesome, and profoundly mysterious “visions of God” (Ezek. 1:1), showing us the intrinsic depths of God’s heart’s desire, His plan, His eternal economy, and His move to carry out His eternal economy. At the same time, we see many applications of the visions for the Lord’s current move in migration to raise up new churches. We also include a report on the open house and meeting of thanksgiving, praise, and consecration at the campus for the spread of the work of God’s New Testament ministry in the Lord’s recovery. This glorious and memorable inauguration of the new facility included an open house in three of the buildings on the campus, a love feast, a review of crucial points of the ministry of Brother Lee, and a solemn time of prayer. Following this is a report on the publication of the ministry in the Czech Republic with some encouraging responses from readers of The Stream magazine, a report on the radio broadcast of the ministry in the Spanish language, and a report on the ten-day training in Ardzini, Armenia.

Book excerpt: This issue of The Ministry of the Word contains the final eight messages given during the spring 1998 term of the full-time training in Anaheim, California. These messages unveil many practical points concerning the overcomers, particularly as seen in the epistles in Revelation 2 and 3 to the seven churches. These epistles issue a call for overcomers to respond to the speaking Spirit to overcome particular items of degradation in the churches. Messages 9 through 15 speak of the Lord's call for the overcomers in Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea. Message 16 concludes with the composition and consummation of the overcomers. The Announcements section at the end of this issue contains a list of upcoming conferences and trainings sponsored by Living Stream Ministry.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This issue of The Ministry contains the final eight messages given during the 2006 fall term of the full-time training in Anaheim, California. The general subject of this series of messages is entitled "The Reality of the Body of Christ." The Body of Christ is crucial in relation to God's economy. In short, God's economy is to constitute us with Christ and thereby make us the same as Christ in life, nature, and expression. Therefore, God's goal is the Body of Christ, which is simply the enlargement, increase, duplication, and reproduction of Christ. God in His economy wants us to experience Christ and be filled with Christ in our daily lives, yet His ultimate goal is to gain the Body of Christ for His expression and dominion. Furthermore, His Body is also His bride for His satisfaction in love. We need to be infused with a burden concerning the reality of the Body of Christ, and we need to become the Body of Christ in reality in order to hasten our Lord's return. Last of all, we include a report concerning the recent international conference in London, England. In addition, we include a letter from the Russian-speaking churches to all the churches in the Lord's recovery.
Book Synopsis The Word Among Us by : Terry L. Burden
Download or read book The Word Among Us written by Terry L. Burden and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2022-07-19 with total page 965 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Word Among Us: Theologies of the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament is a topical approach to the study of the Judeo/Christian Bible. Each topic is a survey of the many theological themes we encounter in the Biblical narrative such as the theology of Biblical History, Torah, Moses, Election, Covenant, Land, Kingship, Prophecy, and many more. Special topics include The Theology of the Fall of Israel, Theology of Messianic Expectations, and The Theology of Israel. Of particular interest is The Theology of Story which introduces the story-oriented literary discipline. At the center of Biblical theology is the tragic fall of the Northern Kingdom of Israel in 722 B.C.E. and the Southern Kingdom of Judah in 586 B.C.E. From these periods many of the theological motifs, such as covenant, law, and prophecy, arise to address and to explain these tragedies in Israelite history. The primary purpose of the present study is a better understanding of the theological function of these motifs or themes. A theological function is the power of a Biblical narrative to constitute and to restore the Israelite people who were struggling to survive the late period of Biblical history. A special feature of my study are the several promptings from Biblical topics of the many discussions that relate to the New Testament and Christian teachings. My approach to the study of the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament is unique among other introductions to the Hebrew Bible. This book therefore is very important to both the Jewish and the Christian reader.

Book Synopsis The Book of Ezekiel, Chapters 25–48 by : Daniel I. Block
Download or read book The Book of Ezekiel, Chapters 25–48 written by Daniel I. Block and published by Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing. This book was released on 1998-06-19 with total page 905 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This work completes Daniel Block's two-volume commentary on the book of Ezekiel. The result of twelve years of studying this difficult section of Scripture, this volume, like the one on chapters 1-24, provides an excellent discussion of the background of Ezekiel and offers a verse-by-verse exposition that makes clear the message of this obscure and often misunderstood prophet. Block also shows that Ezekiel's ancient wisdom and vision are still very much needed as we enter the twenty-first century.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this issue of The Ministry, Brother Lee speaks from a heavy burden concerning fruit-bearing. In John 15 the Lord says that every branch in Him that does not bear fruit the Father will take away. This does not mean that a branch of the vine that does not bear fruit will perish. Rather, it means that such a branch is in danger of losing the enjoyment of the rich supply of Christ. On the contrary, the more we as branches produce new believers as fruit, the more we enjoy Christ. The proper way to bear remaining fruit is not the way of gospel campaigns and big speakers but the inner, hidden way of life. As branches of the vine we must impart life to others to bring forth the fruit of life in a hidden way. The three messages which follow are the conclusion of the messages given in the Memorial Day Conference in Chicago, Illinois concerning the new revival. The subject of Message Four in this series is living the life of a God-man to be conformed to the death of Christ through the power of the resurrection of Christ for the reality of the Body of Christ. Death and resurrection are vital to our Christian life and to God’s economy. Such a life of dying to ourselves and living to God is for Christ, the first God-man, to be formed in His many members, the many God-men, for the building up of His organic Body that the economy of God might be carried out. Message Five indicates that we need to shepherd people according to the pattern of the Lord Jesus in His ministry for the carrying out of God’s eternal economy, and Message Six concludes with the fact that shepherding is to take all-inclusive, tender care of the flock. Last of all, we include reports concerning the Lord’s move in Mexico, Taiwan, and Russia, as well as an announcement which gives the dates of the upcoming conferences and trainings in Europe.

Download or read book City of Ruins written by Dereck Daschke and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2010-03-02 with total page 241 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This study addresses the way in which a psychoanalytic model of mourning relates to a set of Jewish apocalypses concerned with the destruction of Jerusalem and its Temple. These texts respond to the traumatic symbolic loss of Zion and attempt to heal it through the apocalyptic narrative, the visionary experiences of the seers, and the emotional transformation that results from the interplay of the two. The seers react with rage, paralysis, and self-annihilating sentiments, and hence these texts resemble incomplete, stalled mourning, or melancholia. Through the course of their narratives and a 'working-through' of the Jewish past, true mourning and psychological recovery occur, prompting visions of the establishment of an ideal society in the future.
Book Synopsis The Ministry, Vol. 06, No. 04 by : Various Authors
Download or read book The Ministry, Vol. 06, No. 04 written by Various Authors and published by Living Stream Ministry. This book was released on 2002-04-01 with total page 144 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this issue of The Ministry we include nine messages of "The Visions of Ezekiel concerning God's Economy," given during the 2001 fall term of the Full-time Training in Anaheim. God's economy is His plan and arrangement according to the desire of His heart to dispense Himself in Christ as the Spirit into His chosen and redeemed people as their life, life supply, and everything, thereby working Himself into them to make them His corporate expression. The book of Ezekiel gives us a condensed vision of God's economy. It begins with a vision of God's glory and ends with a vision of God's building and ultimately of God's city, showing us that God's goal is the building, His corporate expression. The visions of Ezekiel are messages of God for the present age, an age in which God's people have fallen into captivity in Babylon, where they do not live in Christ properly and continually and where they do not enjoy the riches of Christ. Last of all, we include reports concerning the Lord's move in South Africa and Holland.

Book Synopsis An Introduction to the Old Testament by : Tremper Longman III

Book excerpt: An upper-level introduction to the Old Testament that offers students a thorough understanding of three key issues: historical background, literary analysis, and theological message. This second edition of An Introduction to the Old Testament integrates recent developments in Old Testament scholarship. It has many distinctive features that set it apart from other introductions to the Old Testament: It's committed to a theologically evangelical perspective. Emphasizes "special introduction"—the study of individual books. Interacts in an irenic spirit with the historical-critical method. Features points of research history and representative scholars rather than an exhaustive treatment of past scholarship. Deals with the meaning of each book, not in isolation but in a canonical context. Probes the meaning of each book in the setting of its culture. Including callouts, charts, and graphs, An Introduction to the Old Testament is written with an eye to understanding the nature of Old Testament historiography. Perfect for seminary students, professors, and Bible teachers and ministry leaders, as well as anyone looking for an in-depth and balanced approach to Old Testament study.
