Our aim is to provide readers with the highest quality reproductions of fiction and non-fiction literature that has stood the test of time. The many thousands of books in our collection have been sourced from libraries and private collections around the world. The titles that Trieste Publishing has chosen to be part of the collection have been scanned to simulate the original. Our readers see the books the same way that their first readers did decades or a hundred or more years ago. Books from that period are often spoiled by imperfections that did not exist in the original. Imperfections could be in the form of blurred text, photographs, or missing pages. It is highly unlikely that this would occur with one of our books. Our extensive quality control ensures that the readers of Trieste Publishing's books will be delighted with their purchase. Our staff has thoroughly reviewed every page of all the books in the collection, repairing, or if necessary, rejecting titles that are not of the highest quality. This process ensures that the reader of one of Trieste Publishing's titles receives a volume that faithfully reproduces the original, and to the maximum degree possible, gives them the experience of owning the original work.We pride ourselves on not only creating a pathway to an extensive reservoir of books of the finest quality, but also providing value to every one of our readers. Generally, Trieste books are purchased singly - on demand, however they may also be purchased in bulk. Readers interested in bulk purchases are invited to contact us directly to enquire about our tailored bulk rates.

Book excerpt: Excerpt from Diseases of Women: A Manual of Gynecology Designed for the Use of Osteopathic Students and Practitioners The very gratifying reception accorded to the first edition of this work has prompted me to make the second edition still more acceptable to the profession. I have rewritten a great deal of the subject matter and the other subjects have been much enlarged. In addition many new sections and interpolations have been added. Much attention has been paid to the causes and treatment of female diseases from the bony lesion standpoint. Surgical gynecology has been purposely left out. The most of the illustrations are original, while the proper credit is given for those copied. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Practical Manual of Diseases of Women and Uterine Therapeutics: For Students and Practitioners It is a lawful ambition of the physician or surgeon to acquire a reputation for special work in any department or departments of medicine or surgery. But he can best apply this particular knowledge, who cultivates it without neglecting to improve his acquaintance with the diagnosis and treatment of disease in other organs. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Diseases of Women: Including Their Pathology, Causation, Symptoms, Diagnosis, and Treatment; A Manual for Students and Practitioners IN the following pages I have attempted to present to the student and junior practitioner such an account of the diseases incidental to women as will prove a reliable, practical clinical guide. Those who, from lack of time or opportunity during their stu dent career, neglected to make themselves familiar with a subject which will form a most important item in the daily routine of ordinary practice, may thus be enabled to repair the omission. My endeavor has been to give an impartial account, and if, in dealing with the subject of displacements of the uterus, too much prominence should appear to have been given to their mechanical treatment, it has been in order that the question should be fairly represented, not that the practitioner is recommended to place too great reliance upon mechanical appliances. The task of condensing within the limits of a manual all that has stood the test of time and experience in this specialty, has been a difficult one. Doubtless many omissions will be found. Still, I trust these may be rectified by encouraging the student to investigate the subject of gynecology more exhaustively in larger works. I have to acknowledge my own indebtedness for much valuable information to Dr. Barnes's Clinical History of the Medical and Surgical Diseases of Women, Dr. T. Gaillard Thomas's Fracti cal Treatise on the Diseases of Women, and other similar works duly acknowledged in the text. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Diseases of Women: A Manual of Gynecology Designed Especially for the Use of Students and General Practitioners This book was originally designed to fill a gap which had remained open notwithstanding the multiplicity of gynecological treatise and text-books. Its main objects were twofold: in the first place to give the student clearly, but with considerable detail, the methods of examination and the simple forms of treatments of the most common diseases of the pelvic organs; and, in the second place, to help the busy general practitioner to understand and treat the gynecological cases which he meets in his everyday practice. For brevity and clearness the treatment is mainly confined to such measures as have been practically found by the author to prove of the greatest benefit. Special attention has been paid to the description and explanation of many minor, though important, points which are ordinarily omitted from text-books, but which are nevertheless of great value. The book aims to be practical, and is therefore devoted principally to diagnosis and treatment, to the exclusion of unsettled theories. Such was the book in its first two editions. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Diseases of Women: A Manual of Non-Surgical Gynecology, Designed Especially for the Use of Students and General Practitioners IN the preface to the first edition of this book, which was published less than three years ago, the hope was expressed that the student would find the work of value as collateral reading. From what has been told me by those who are engaged in teaching, and from the testi mony of the students themselves, I believe that hope has been fulfilled. The changes which have been made in this second edition have been for the most part additions in the way of methods of treatment which have been found of prae tical value. The last few chapters, however, seemed to call for a more thorough revision, and they have been for the most part te-written. Tents have so far fallen into disuse that a separate chapter for their consideration seemed unnecessary, and the important part of that subject has been incorporated with the chapter on Metrorrhagia.
