Two loves. Two choices. One chance to follow her dreams. Emily has come a long way since she lost her two passions fifteen years ago: music, and Rob. She's a psychologist at NYU who helps troubled college students like the one she once was. Together with her caring doctor husband, Ezra, she has a beautiful life. They're happy. They hope to start a family. But when a tragic event in Emily's present too closely echoes her past, and parts of her story that she'd hoped never to share come to light, her perfect life is suddenly upturned. Then Emily hears a song on the radio about the woman who got away. The melody and voice are hauntingly familiar. Could it be? As Emily's past passions come roaring back into her life, she'll find herself asking: Who is she meant to be? Who is she meant to love?

Not out of malice but out of a fundamental misunderstanding of how to effectively approach our lives-and the world-in order to secure the genuine happiness and authentic loving relationships we desire. In Reclaiming the Life We Lost Along the Way, we discover that at the heart of every decision we make is the intention to reduce our suffering and satisfy our unmet yearnings. Authentic love, safety, acceptance, connection, belonging, meaning, purpose, value, appreciation. These are the shared desires of every human being. To meet these desires, we have invested tremendous effort, yet the quality of life we have sought continues to elude us. The reason is shockingly simple: We have attempted to resolve an internal problem with external solutions. The outside world can never satisfy our deepest longings until our inner world makes a critical shift in perception and orientation. When this internal shift occurs, our experience of everything outside of us begins to change as well. This is the key to realizing and experiencing the quality of life we have been seeking for so long. Discover who you really are, recover your true self, bring your unique gifts to life, then share them with the world. This book shows you how to reclaim the life you were born to live by recovering the authentic love and deep fulfillment you came out of the Universe to encounter and extend in your own life and the lives of everyone you touch....

She was a 28-year-old American aid worker whose car had been ambushed in one of Baghdad's worst neighbourhoods. Andi was also engaged to the author, Newsweek's Iraqi correspondent Michael Hastings. Hastings charts the ups and downs of their relationship, a modern love story played out against the ultra-violent backdrop of Iraq. Book Synopsis A World of Lost Love by : Charles F. Sumner
Download or read book A World of Lost Love written by Charles F. Sumner and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2012-12-04 with total page 173 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A few minutes before my wife died, I found myself wishing for time to resolve our two issues, which we hadnt talked about. Falling in the bathroom and breaking her hip was one. She felt I should have run into the bathroom and saved her. I was not prepared to save her psychologically and didnt have time. The other issue was a rape eighteen months before at the city swimming pool in the dressing room. My lady was a young seventy-six years old with Hepatitis C and blind. She had no strength to defend herself from a large and muscular woman, assaulting her because of a failed friendship. I might have hurried to save her from falling, and I did not take her trauma from her with love and through Jesus Christ. I was inhibited and failed her in her fall. I would have no freedom to live on if we hadnt been saved by Christ by the understanding I carried in my face. I sat down near her and prayed for Jesus Christ to come into my sorrow in my face. My lady opened her blind eyes and saw my feelings with Christ of sorrow and smiled instantly, twice, with a huge happiness that Id never seen in her for over forty-five years of marriage. It was a smile of goodness and happiness, that she gave me an image of my wife ten years earlier, when she hadnt experienced rape. I thank my lady and Jesus for giving us this wonderful ending to her life and the resolution of our conflicts.
