Book excerpt: New York Times bestseller What is Jesus worth to you? It's easy for American Christians to forget how Jesus said his followers would actually live, what their new lifestyle would actually look like. They would, he said, leave behind security, money, convenience, even family for him. They would abandon everything for the gospel. They would take up their crosses daily... But who do you know who lives like that? Do you? In Radical, David Platt challenges you to consider with an open heart how we have manipulated the gospel to fit our cultural preferences. He shows what Jesus actually said about being his disciple--then invites you to believe and obey what you have heard. And he tells the dramatic story of what is happening as a "successful" suburban church decides to get serious about the gospel according to Jesus. Finally, he urges you to join in The Radical Experiment -- a one-year journey in authentic discipleship that will transform how you live in a world that desperately needs the Good News Jesus came to bring.

Book excerpt: New from Best-Selling Author John Piper From Genesis to Revelation, the providence of God directs the entire course of redemptive history. Providence is "God's purposeful sovereignty." Its extent reaches down to the flight of electrons, up to the movements of galaxies, and into the heart of man. Its nature is wise and just and good. And its goal is the Christ-exalting glorification of God through the gladness of a redeemed people in a new world. Drawing on a lifetime of theological reflection, biblical study, and practical ministry, pastor and author John Piper leads us on a stunning tour of the sightings of God's providence—from Genesis to Revelation—to discover the allencompassing reality of God's purposeful sovereignty over all of creation and all of history. Piper invites us to experience the profound effects of knowing the God of all-pervasive providence: the intensifying of true worship, the solidifying of wavering conviction, the strengthening of embattled faith, the toughening of joyful courage, and the advance of God's mission in this world.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many believers see the book of Revelation as a book that is too hard to understand. The third verse of this book has a promised blessing: Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it because the time is near. The Lord would not offer a blessing and then turn it into confusion! So why is this book so difficult to so many? Because the average modern-day believer does not have a firm understanding of the Old Testament. The book of Revelation is explained in the Old Testament. The purpose of this book is to help the reader journey through the Old Testament into the clarity of Revelation. If you heard me say, We are going to celebrate like it is the Fourth of July, what would you think? When you hear that phrase, what mental pictures come to your mind? Fireworks? BBQ? Summertime? I did not mention any of those words. I just said Fourth of July. Theres an association there, and that association is key. However, if we lived in some other foreign country and you overheard me use that same phrase, what mental picture would you have if you had never been to America? Maybe none because there would be no understanding of the event or meaning. This is where many modern-day believers are when it comes to understanding the depth and meaning of the Old Testament. One may understand a story or two, but not many have the clarity needed to fully understand the meaning and purpose of the Old Testament language used in the New Testament, especially in the last book of the Bible. My goal is to help you understand and apply Gods Word in proper context.

Tuese likes to call these special occasions, The Sighs of Life because they have romanced him to write of the moment. He also feels a duty and obligation to compose for the soul of man in hopes that his words will resonate life, pleasure and enlightenment. This book is a collage of life, death, love, dumps, romance, purpose, meaninglessness, the funk, controversy, transformation, depression, salvation, worship and song. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Courageous bold David, a man of war after God’s own heart who killed Goliath, made himself a great enemy in King Saul who because jealous and did everything to kill King David. But through his struggles and wars with Saul and his house, David trusted and sought God in all things. As a result Saul and his son became a nonexistent thing and God gave to David Saul’s house and his master's wives into David’s keeping, as well as the house of Israel and Judah and told him, “if that had been too little, I also would have given you much more!” (2 Samuel 12:8) Consequentially David stated Oh, sing to the LORD a new song! For He has done marvelous things; His right hand and His holy arm have gained Him the victory.” (Psalm 98:1). I will praise You, For You have answered me, And have become my salvation (Psalm 118:21). David praised God for doing marvelous things for him and giving him with His right hand and His holy arm the victory and becoming his salvation in his real battle with Saul! Yes the word of God tells us that in this world, our enemies rise against us and devise plans to hurt and harm us (Psalm 41:7). But in these times, the God of Victory is powerful to crush our enemies. When we tell Him of our trials and tribulations, then God will help us and will make them as a non-existent thing. The Lord who gave David victory over his enemies and blessed him abundantly is no respecter of persons and shows partiality to no one. If we hold onto the Lord Jesus Christ like the psalmist David and we shall overcome all our problems and the people who rise against us in victory.
