From time to time, temporary alliances were formed, but none that endured the sands of time. They were a prideful people with every action being done for the good of the whole. Foreigners, who had but little contact with the Indian, considered the Squaws to be the work horses of the village giving little credit to the warriors, considering them lazy. Nothing could be further from the truth! The warrior s role was that of daily hunter, protector, and fighter. These were often performed with their life on the line! Blood shed, grief, crippling injuries, were a way of life and common place among the warriors. It was a common belief among most western Indians, that in the beginning, all Indians were as one, united and strong. Over time, influenced by Evil Spirits, they had split into many factions, creating prideful jealousies that had in turn brought on war and conflicts, that pitted one against the other. It too was believed that one day the Great Spirit would send a new leader that would reunite the western Indian. The Comanche Buffalo Horn had a vision. In his vision he was told by the Great Spirit that he had already sent a new leader and that the time had come for him to be revealed. This new leader would become known far and wide as The Keeper of the Horse. His vision also told of the coming of a great foreign foe that would end the Indian way of life should they not unite in defense of their lands. It soon became apparent that his own son, Wise Council, was the prophesized Keeper of the Horse seen in his vision! From adolescence to adulthood, Wise Council proves himself to be that of a born leader. He is endowed by the Great Spirit with many attributes that draw others to him. His horse, Amigo, a magnificent black stallion, proves to be the catalyst in which his growing legend spreads from villages to being the talk around campfires spread across the west!
