Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Journal of Speculative Philosophy, 1885, Vol. 19 There is one other topic, the discussion of which will reveal the nature of Bradley's standpoint, but we might well hesitate to enter upon any consideration of it. That is the nature of the category of Subject and Attribute, which introduces us into the realm of inference. One might be disposed to think that already the nature of Bradley's fundamental doctrine had been taken from its concealment, and its connection with the principle laid down in the prolegomena ascertained. But while it can scarcely be expected to receive much new light, yet hitherto the question has been concerning judgment alone, and not inference. The work would be somewhat incomplete if the whole of inference were passed over in silence. Consequently, it will be our task in this section first to outline the connection of judgment with inference, and then to discover the general law which operates in every case of inference. Both of these will be in large measure but a repetition of what Bradley has himself done. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Book Synopsis Volume 19, Tome VII: Kierkegaard Bibliography by : Peter Šajda
Download or read book Volume 19, Tome VII: Kierkegaard Bibliography written by Peter Šajda and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-03-16 with total page 383 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The long tradition of Kierkegaard studies has made it impossible for individual scholars to have a complete overview of the vast field of Kierkegaard research. The large and ever increasing number of publications on Kierkegaard in the languages of the world can be simply bewildering even for experienced scholars. The present work constitutes a systematic bibliography which aims to help students and researchers navigate the seemingly endless mass of publications. The volume is divided into two large sections. Part I, which covers Tomes I-V, is dedicated to individual bibliographies organized according to specific language. This includes extensive bibliographies of works on Kierkegaard in some 41 different languages. Part II, which covers Tomes VI-VII, is dedicated to shorter, individual bibliographies organized according to specific figures who are in some way relevant for Kierkegaard. The goal has been to create the most exhaustive bibliography of Kierkegaard literature possible, and thus the bibliography is not limited to any specific time period but instead spans the entire history of Kierkegaard studies.

Download or read book John Lachs's Practical Philosophy written by Krzysztof Piotr Skowroński and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2018-07-10 with total page 378 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: John Lachs (1934-) has been one of the most interesting American philosophers for nearly sixty years. His philosophical, educational, and public activity has been an attempt to show the relevance of philosophy to life. This is the first book dedicated to his thought. International scholars have proposed different themes in Lachs’ philosophy, so as to present its enormous potential. Lachs’ responses to his critics shows that dialogue with his critics is an inspirational activity for both sides. Lachs’ way of philosophizing can be seen as exemplary for those who want to unify and present a clear and understandable articulation of moral and philosophical messages to everyone.
