Then George Johnston and his son, built a second mill, a saw mill, on New Hope Creek. This would lead to a law suit with Robson in 1823. Original documents, including many depositions and a letter to Judge Ruffin, tells the whole story. This book covers both of these mill sites and even a third mill site - Charles Johnston on New Hope Creek near Turkey Farm Road. This book has all the deed records, plats, pictures, maps and many drawings, describing the mill operations, and locations. Some basic genealogy is provided on the Johnston, and more so on for the Robson family. Cemetery locations, images of tombstones, and even the slaves burial sites are shown.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Created in 1746, Johnston County is located along the fall line between North Carolina's Piedmont and Coastal Plain regions. Smithfield, on the Neuse River, has been the county seat since 1771. In 1856, Johnston County became part of the Fertile Crescent along the east-west North Carolina Railroad, which spawned the thriving towns of Princeton, Pine Level, Selma, and Clayton. In the 1880s, a north-south rail line, eventually known as the Atlantic Coastline, brought Kenly, Micro, Four Oaks, and Benson into existence. Johnston County boasts film legend Ava Gardner, bootleg kingpin Percy Flowers, Vicks VapoRub, and other local claims to fame. It is still a farming county, although recent growth from the Research Triangle region has brought marked changes to the rural landscape. In recent years, Wilson's Mills and Archer Lodge have gained corporate status. These historical images tell a story not only of the extraordinary people who have called Johnston County home but also of the ordinary, everyday individuals who have left their mark.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Originally published in 1956, this book is a full account of General Joseph E. Johnston (1807-1891), a career U.S. Army officer who served with distinction in the Mexican-American War and Seminole Wars, and was one of the most senior general officers—second only to General Robert E. Lee—in the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War. Although heartily disliked by Confederate president Jefferson Davis, who often criticized him for a lack of aggressiveness and took every opportunity to sully his opponent’s name, General Johnston’s patriotic devotion to the Southern cause prevented him from resigning, and he rose to gain enormous respect from his major opponents for his actions during a number of campaigns—including General Ulysses S. Grant and Union Maj. Gen. William T. Sherman, who became close friends with Johnston in subsequent years. A leading text for Civil War enthusiasts. Illustrated with 6 detailed maps.

Book excerpt: This book includes full-color illustration, personality traits and descriptions of the genealogy races, it is the companion book to a Galactic Genealogy Chart, also included in the book. The Chart and booklet are designed to help you find out what your Galactic Genealogy origins are. I have listed them in alphabetical order. Since photographs are not taking of the Extraterrestrials, both the drawings from the experiencer's and the other illustrations are meant to be an example of the different races and beings that are in our Universe. Some of them have the ability to appear in your mind and memory as whatever they want, and this induced "image" has nothing to do with their real appearance. They may have you see and remember them as a human celebrity or family member. A ball of light, a gray, a dwarf or even animals such as deer, owl, dog, monkey, because they want you to remember that. Most of the time they may want you to completely forget anything about you're experience with them, so you think it's just a dream. So, we can never be sure that they really look the way we see them. I was asked in by my galactic family, in downloads and channeling to put this information together with full-color illustrations, descriptions of our family and special traits about ourselves. The illustrations and info have been accumulated from many people and sources. Dare to find out what you Galactic Genealogy is!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Thomas Varker Keam owned and operated a trading post in Keams Canyon, Arizona Territory, from 1874 to 1902. He was the first trader to develop American Indian arts and crafts as part of his business and the first to suggest that Native artists modify their techniques to increase sales. Keam had a major impact on the evolution of Hopi pottery. Involved in early archaeological work in the Southwest, Keam was the first trader to develop lucrative contacts with museum curators and anthropologists. He sold enormous collections to the Smithsonian Institution, the Field Museum, and the Peabody Museum, as well as several European institutions. An advocate for the Indians, Keam represented the Hopis and Navajos in confrontations with the U.S. government over “civilizing” programs between 1869 and 1902, when the Indians tried to maintain their political and cultural independence. Thomas Varker Keam revised Indian trading so that he and American Indian artists profited.
