The articles collected in Newell G. Bringhurst and Darron T. Smith's Black and Mormon look at the mechanisms used to keep blacks from full participation, the motives behind the ban, and the kind of changes that have--and have not--taken place within the church since the revelation responsible for its end. This challenging collection is required reading for anyone concerned with the history of racism, discrimination, and the Latter-day Saints.
Book Synopsis Jaredites: the Missing Civilization X by : Jim Hendleman
Download or read book Jaredites: the Missing Civilization X written by Jim Hendleman and published by Author House. This book was released on 2013-05-20 with total page 487 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book covers the origin and archaeological development of selected categories of civilized elements identified as being Jaredite in origin. It is an attempt to elevate the Jaredite civilization into the light of day from the heretofore dark mists of history where science has forced it for the last 2,500 years. The Jaredite civilization spanned a possible 2,530 years, and its known achievements have far exceeded those of modern mans in many regards. In c. 2800 BC, the Jaredites built a pair of concrete superhighways over 2,700 miles, complete with paved exits and a secondary road network, nearly the entire length of the South American continent. Their civilization could answer the riddles of the Sphinx, the questions of who built the pyramids and why, the mystery and likely origin of UFOs, prove whether or not George Lucas had the only ET, detail what Noah brought aboard the ark besides three sons and their families, and provide an answer to the question posed to Dr. J. Robert Oppenheimer by a student as to whether Alamogordos nuclear bomb in July 1945 was the first ever atomic bomb explosion in history. Many other possible but likely Jaredite achievements are incredibly fascinating and await only an honest archaeological effort to prove them. The historical facts exist; they are real and three-dimensional, but to date, standard classical science has relegated them to the dustbin of historys forgotten basement closet. Satan has made a tremendous effort since mankinds beginning to keep man blinded to the historical facts of our heritage, causing the deliberate destruction of millions of artifacts, scrolls, books, and whole libraries throughout the world to do so. This book is but a small effort to expose and make known a portion of mankinds previously hidden but rightful heritage.

Book Synopsis The Mormon Church and Blacks by : Matthew L Harris
Download or read book The Mormon Church and Blacks written by Matthew L Harris and published by University of Illinois Press. This book was released on 2015-11-15 with total page 233 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The year 1978 marked a watershed year in the history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as it lifted a 126-year ban on ordaining black males for the priesthood. This departure from past practice focused new attention on Brigham Young's decision to abandon Joseph Smith's more inclusive original teachings. The Mormon Church and Blacks presents thirty official or authoritative Church statements on the status of African Americans in the Mormon Church. Matthew L. Harris and Newell G. Bringhurst comment on the individual documents, analyzing how they reflected uniquely Mormon characteristics and contextualizing each within the larger scope of the history of race and religion in the United States. Their analyses consider how lifting the ban shifted the status of African Americans within Mormonism, including the fact that African Americans, once denied access to certain temple rituals considered essential for Mormon salvation, could finally be considered full-fledged Latter-day Saints in both this world and the next. Throughout, Harris and Bringhurst offer an informed view of behind-the-scenes Church politicking before and after the ban. The result is an essential resource for experts and laymen alike on a much-misunderstood aspect of Mormon history and belief.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “...Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six, 666.” (Revelation 13:18) I was born on 06/16/1956 (666.) I am destined, ordained, blessed and bestowed by the Lord to reveal the truth and to be an instrument in restoring the ancient Kingdom of Israel to its past glories as God’s covenanted people. The Kingdom of Israel had always existed in our midst but was lost and concealed from our knowledge for many centuries while we multiplied in various regions of the world. It is now the time for the Lord to restore the Kingdom of Israel as his precious and anointed people of God. God shall ultimately graft back all the Israelites worldwide to their original tree and they shall all identify themselves as the covenanted people and heirs to the blessings of God This book is a testament of God and I wrote it with the aspiration and revelation of the Lord. The Lord and his blessed Son, Jesus Christ, shall be worshipped and revered by the entire Israelites all over the world when they come to the knowledge of the truth and to the knowledge of themselves. I have proven that Africans and Europeans are indeed the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and are the covenanted people of God. Both blacks and whites shall rise and grow together and they shall both be the blessed people of God from henceforward. This is the end of time when the whole world shall be renewed and would be led by an entirely new perception as the authenticated Israelites. This book has established that task. It is the era when Satan shall be tied down for a thousand years.
Book Synopsis Saints, Slaves, and Blacks by : Newell G. Bringhurst
Download or read book Saints, Slaves, and Blacks written by Newell G. Bringhurst and published by Greg Kofford Books. This book was released on 2018-04-10 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Originally published shortly after the LDS Church lifted its priesthood and temple restriction on black Latter-day Saints, Newell G. Bringhurst’s landmark work remains ever-relevant as both the first comprehensive study on race within the Mormon religion and the basis by which contemporary discussions on race and Mormonism have since been framed. Approaching the topic from a social history perspective, with a keen understanding of antebellum and post-bellum religious shifts, Saints, Slaves, and Blacks examines both early Mormonism in the context of early American attitudes towards slavery and race, and the inherited racial traditions it maintained for over a century. While Mormons may have drawn from a distinct theology to support and defend racial views, their attitudes towards blacks were deeply-embedded in the national contestation over slavery and anticipation of the last days. This second edition of Saints, Slaves, and Blacks offers an updated edit, as well as an additional foreword and postscripts by Edward J. Blum, W. Paul Reeve, and Darron T. Smith. Bringhurst further adds a new preface and appendix detailing his experience publishing Saints, Slaves, and Blacks at a time when many Mormons felt the rescinded ban was best left ignored, and reflecting on the wealth of research done on this topic since its publication.
Book Synopsis The African Bible by : Embaye Melekin
Download or read book The African Bible written by Embaye Melekin and published by Author House. This book was released on 2011-03 with total page 615 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The African Bible is the record of the Abyssinian prophets who came to Africa from Jerusalem in around 600 BC. The Sabeans (Nephites) and the Agazians (Lamanites) will become the ancestors of the African people. The prophecies of the African Bible have been entirely fulfilled upon Africans, Jews and Gentiles. The Agazians or black Africans were prophesied to dwindle in unbelief as was apparent in the history of the continent. Also, black Africans were prophesied to be scourged, slaved and scattered by the Gentiles, and that was the experience of Africans. The African Bible, the Book of Mormon, was prophesied to be hidden from the African people, until God's own time, and will first be discovered by the Gentiles. Hence, the prophet Joseph Smith translated them into English from the Sabean script and the Mormon Church had them for almost two centuries without knowing the authentic owners of the records. The records were then to be revealed to the African people by one of their descendants, and that is what I am doing now. I have convincingly proven the Book of Mormon to be the record of the African ancestors and is therefore an African Bible. Hence, Africans are the remnants of the house of Israel and descendants of Manasseh.

Book Synopsis 80 Reasons Why the Book of Mormon Is an African Bible by : Embaye Melekin

This book was released on 2017-10-23 with total page 358 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book, I have presented eighty reasons to prove that the Book of Mormon is that of the history of Eritrea and Ethiopia, and its prophecies encompass the entire continent of Africa and the black race in general. I have also successfully identified who the authentic Israelites are in the world. The Book of Mormon contains the ultimate revelations the world has been waiting for many centuries. Its prophecies are incredibly very accurate and reveal the ultimate truths that were hidden from mankind for many centuries. When the Book of Mormon’s true messages are finally made known to mankind, as I am doing now, the world would marvel at the contents of its records. The perceptions of the white and black races especially would change dramatically. They shall view their relationships with each other from different perspectives when they come to the full knowledge and understanding of the truth contained in the Book of Mormon. The prophet Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon very accurately from its Sa’bean script. However, the Mormon Church was not expected to know the truth about the valuable contents of the Book of Mormon until God’s own appointed time and did not do so for many decades. I am prophesied in the records of the Book of Mormon to reveal the final truth contained in the book at God’s appointed time, which is now. I am therefore doing the work the Lord designated me for, as prophesied in the Book of Mormon, and I am bringing to revelation the ultimate truths of the records of the book to the African people and our descendants all over the world. The African people and the black race especially are the primary beneficiaries and heirs to the records of the Book of Mormon. However, the truth contained in the Book of Mormon will not only benefit Africans but also the entire human race and especially the Gentiles or the white race.

Download or read book How We Were All Fooled written by Victoria Reilly and published by Page Publishing Inc. This book was released on 2024-02-14 with total page 190 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book covers many questions about how we as a country got to Black American racism. As I found more and more answers, I realized how many of them were totally new to me and how I felt that I had been so deceived about so much of our history. After talking to many people, Black and white, I knew that it wasn't just me who had been deceived. There is so much that has been done to Black Americans over the ages, not just slavery, that I felt everyone could understand better if various truths were revealed. One Black young man I discussed this with seemed to visibly feel better about himself just hearing some of these basic truths. Eugenics, I believe, was worse than slavery. Eugenics founder, Galton, was a first cousin to Charles Darwin. This was all related to Malthus, who decided in 1795 that overpopulation was a dire emergency. Eugenics was the answer to who should be allowed to live or reproduce in order to keep the world population down. The geologic timetable, evolution, overpopulation, and eugenics all came about in the early 1800s before any carbon dating. Who is still pushing this, and how does it all relate to American racism?
