The rubber product manufacturing industry is basically divided into two major sectors: tyre and non-tyre. The tyre sector produces all types of automotive and nonautomotive tyres whereas the non-tyre sector produces high technology and sophisticated products like conveyor belts , rubber seals etc. The wide range of rubber products manufactured by the rubber industry comprises all types of heavy duty earth moving tyres, auto tyres, tubes, automobile parts, footwear, beltings etc. The rubber industry has been growing tremendously over the years. The future of the rubber industry is tied to the global economy. Rapidly growing automotive sector in developing economies and increased demand for high-performance tyres are expected to contribute to the growth of the global industrial rubber market. The current scenario reveals that there is a tremendous scope for the development of rubber processing industries. The global market for industrial rubber products is projected to increase 5.8 % per year. Investment in rubber industry is expected to offer significant opportunities in the near future and realizing returns to investors willing to explore this sector. This book deals with all aspects of rubber processing; mixing, milling, extrusion and molding, reclaiming and manufacturing process of rubber products. The major contents of the book are rubbers materials and processing, mixing technology of rubber, techniques of vulcanization, rubber vulcanization, rubber compounding, rubber reclaiming, manufacture of rubber products, latex and foam rubber, silicone rubber, polybutadiene and polyisoprene, styrene butadiene rubber, rubber natural etc. The book contains addresses of plant & machinery suppliers with their Photographs. Book Synopsis Blends of Natural Rubber by : K.C. Jones
Download or read book Blends of Natural Rubber written by K.C. Jones and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 270 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Blends of natural rubber with speciality synthetic rubbers, such as nitrile rubber and ethylene propylene rubbers, have, in the past, failed to combine the best properties of polymers, resulting in a poor return in terms of added value from the blending process. The idea of blending synthetic rubbers with natural rubbe is certainly not a new one, but it is only now that this can be shown to be possible with consistently positive resluts, but eh use of novel techniques which this book describes, giving valuable information on the technology required and the results which can be achieved. Blends of Natural Rubber is an invaluable source of information for all those working in the area of rubber technology and polymer blend technology.

Book Synopsis Mechanisms of Reversible and Irreversible Loss of Mechanical Properties of Elastomeric Vulcanizates which Occur at Elevated Temperatures by : Thor L. Smith
Download or read book Mechanisms of Reversible and Irreversible Loss of Mechanical Properties of Elastomeric Vulcanizates which Occur at Elevated Temperatures written by Thor L. Smith and published by . This book was released on 1962 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Strength characteristics of five elastomeric gum vulcanizates were investigated over a wide range of conditions. Results from continuous and intermittent stress-relaxation evaluations made between 100° and 200° C showed that the thermal stabilities of the vulcanizates decrease in the following order: hydrofluorocarbon, resin-cured butyl, silicone, sulfur-cured butyl, and natural rubber. Tensile properties of each vulcanizate in the absence of thermal degradation were determined with an Instron tester at about 10 strain rates and 10 temperatures. Except for natural rubber, the ultimate tensile properties of each vulcanizate could be characterized by a time- and temperature-independent failure envelope which results from a plot of log sigma sub b 273/T vs. log epsilon sub b where sigma sub b is the tensile strength and epsilon sub b is the ultimate strains. No fundamental differences seem to exist in the strength characteristics of the various vulcanizates provided they are compared in corresponding temperature and physical states. Stress-strain curves for natural rubber were analyzed to separate time and finite- strain effects. Between -20° and 100° C, the stress-strain data were time independent although they are temperature dependent.
