Book excerpt: "We are truly in times of restoration. And, one aspect of restoration taking place in the House of God, is that of Honor. A culture of honor must function in the House of God for the Body of Christ to truly come to a place of maturation. Honor is an age-old principle practiced in many cultures and religions of the world. Yet, attached to these practices are legalism and false humility. When we discuss honor in the Kingdom, we will discover how this principle has many benefits for the one showing honor.Joseph honored his Father, and his family, which eventually brought him to a place of rulership. He even honored his master by refusing to sleep with his wife. Even though Joseph was a prisoner and falsely accused he showed honor to his imprisoners who made him in charge. We see God opened the door in the Spirit to Joseph, he begin to interpret dreams. He was able to interpret the dreams of the butler and the baker that eventually brought him into a place of rulership. Our rulership on the earth is determined by the ability to produce a culture of honor."

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Honor of His House In the first place, I plead for the woman in this story - the woman who erred. She was just an ordinary woman, without much time for leisure or cultivation; but there was a desire for development. She had ideals, as all women have, no matter what their station in life, but her ideals were not clearly definable; she was ambitious without having any avowed objective. Her greatest need was sympathy. The craving for sympathy overwhelmed her; the longing for sanctuary from what she believed to be the oppressive was too insistent to give the more rational faculties an opportunity to exert themselves and save her. The sanctuary she sought has been found by thousands of misunderstood women - and the world is full of that class; but in her case there was Interposition - the sanctuary was denied. Book excerpt: Megachurch pastor Allen Jackson invites readers on a 100-day adventure of experiencing God through ten biblical practices that will reignite their faith and transform their lives. Many Christians experience low points in their faith, times when their spiritual lives have grown cold, stagnant, or routine. They feel frustrated and desperate to reconnect with God. Yet encouragement alone is not enough. We need God's power to bring transformation, and we need specific tools and a focused intent to know the Lord. Drawing upon years of pastoral ministry and his own experience, Allen Jackson has developed a 100-day plan to reinvigorate a believer's life, organized around ten declarations of intent, including: I Intend to Grow Spiritually, I Intend to Read the Gospels I Intend to Pray Daily I Intend to Honor God in My Home, and I Intend to Work with Integrity. A simple investment of twenty minutes a day will create an unstoppable momentum in readers' lives. Their hearts are opened to new possibilities with God where his purposes unfold and where the fruit of his rewards are found.

Book excerpt: Émile Gaboriau (November 9, 1832 - September 28, 1873) was a French writer, novelist, journalist, and a pioneer of detective fiction. His first detective novel, Monsieur Lecoq 1869, which featured an amateur detective and a young police officer (Monsieur Lecoq), was a success and the Lecoq was the hero in Gaboriau's 3 later detective novels. The character of Lecoq was based on a real-life thief turned police officer, Eugène François Vidocq (1775-1857), whose own memoirs, Les Vrais Mémoires de Vidocq, mixed fiction and fact. It may also have been influenced by the villainous Monsieur Lecoq, one of the main protagonists of Féval's Les Habits Noirs book series. Gaboriau was a pioneer and a great success in his time until Arthur Conan Doyle created Sherlock Holmes which diverted global attention from his Monsieur Lecoq. The story was produced on the stage in 1872. A long series of novels dealing with the annals of the police court followed, and proved very popular. Gaboriau died in Paris of pulmonary apoplexy.

Book excerpt: Another lovely and complicated novel by Emile Gaboriau that connects to prior works and closes a previously abandoned story with intriguing potential for continuation. Emile Gaboriau was a pivotal character in detective fiction history. He was a French journalist and author who developed the "Roman police" with a logical series of books starring private investigator Monsieur Lecoq. Lecoq is based on the memoirs of a real-life thief-turned-cop named Francois Vidocq (1775-1857). Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes vanquished Gaboriau's huge cult. Interestingly, Holmes may be modeled on another of Gaboriau's characters, the detective Father Tabaret, whose tactics Monsieur Lecoq imitated in the first Lecoq book.
