Book Synopsis The Holy Spirit and the Renewal of All Things by : T David Beck
Download or read book The Holy Spirit and the Renewal of All Things written by T David Beck and published by James Clarke & Company. This book was released on 2010-03-25 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book sets out to change the starting point for theological conversation about the work of the Holy Spirit. Protestant theologians have associated the Spirit's work almost entirely with believers and/or the church. The Spirit's role is to apply Christ's atoning work to God's people. In contrast, early Christian reflection saw the Spirit's main role as bringing about the eschatological rule of God, which reaches beyond individuals or even the church and extends to all creation. This volumes explores the shape pneumatology takes when we develop the theology of the Holy Spirit within an eschatological framework that has a universal scope and an unlimited history. When we do so, we find that pneumatology deriving from questions about what the Spirit doesfor us needs to give way to pneumatology that derives from questions about how the Spirit can draw us into the saving history of the triune God.

Download or read book Spirit, Soul, and Body written by Andrew Wommack and published by Destiny Image Publishers. This book was released on 2018-12-18 with total page 176 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Have you ever asked yourself what changed when you were "born again?" You look in the mirror and see the same reflection - your body hasn't changed. You find yourself acting the same and yielding to those same old temptations - that didn't seem to change either. So you wonder, Has anything really changed? The correct answer to that question is foundational for receiving from God. If you lack this basic understanding, you'll forever ask yourself doubt-filled questions like: "How could God love somebody like me?" and "How can I possibly expect to receive anything from the Lord? I don't deserve it, I'm not good enough!" Spirit, Soul, and Body will help you eliminate those and other doubt-filled questions that destroy your faith. If you have trouble receiving from God, this is a must-read!
Book Synopsis Renewal Theology by : J. Rodman Williams
Download or read book Renewal Theology written by J. Rodman Williams and published by Zondervan Academic. This book was released on 2011-05-03 with total page 1473 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Renewal Theology deals with the full range of Christian truth from within the charismatic tradition. Previously published as three separate volumes, Renewal Theology represents the first exhaustive, balanced articulation of charismatic theology. Renewal Theology discusses: Book One--God, the World, and Redemption - Book Two--Salvation, the Holy Spirit, and Christian Living - Book Three--The Church, the Kingdom, and Last Things. As theology, this work is an intellectual achievement. But it is much more than that. The author urges the church to undertake its task of theology in the proper spirit: - an attitude of prayer - a deepening sense of reverence - an ever-increasing purity of heart - a spirit of growing love - a theological approach rooted in the glory of God. Done in such a spirit, theology becomes a faithful and powerful witness to the living God.

Book Synopsis The Expulsive Power of a New Affection by : Thomas Chalmers
Download or read book The Expulsive Power of a New Affection written by Thomas Chalmers and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2020-10-02 with total page 40 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Thomas Chalmers was a Scottish Presbyterian minister who served most of his life at St. John's parish in Glasgow—a congregation that was both the largest and the poorest congregation in the city. Known for his extensive charitable work in caring for the poor and downtrodden, Chalmers was also an astute theologian. One of his most notable works is The Expulsive Power of a New Affection, in which Chalmers inspires his readers to remove the tangles of sin through the expulsive power of a new affection—desiring God. As a result of the fall, human feelings of love are often misplaced on the creation rather than the Creator. This classic work of the faith reorients our affections toward him.

And most of us know He’s a part of the Trinity, but misunderstandings, confusion, and contention abound. And it’s keeping us from the abundant, satisfying life God has for us. The solution? We need a biblical understanding of the Holy Spirit. Transforming Presence walks you through ten vital practices that will help you have a new experience of the Holy Spirit. You’ll learn how our relationship with the Holy Spirit changed from the Old Testament to the New Testament, what common misconceptions of the Holy Spirit are, and how to think, speak, (and sing) rightly about Him. It can be hard to discern what’s right and wrong in a world of gray scales, differing preferences, and emotional highs, but when we start with the Bible, all the secondary things fall into place. Discover the transformational, personal, and joyful relationship that comes from meeting the Holy Spirit on His own terms.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The classic "All Series" books have graced the shelves of pastors, students, and laypeople alike for decades. "All about the Holy Spirit" continues in the series tradition of offering a faithful and comprehensive treatment of biblical subjects. In this work, Dr. Lockyer examines virtually every biblical reference to the Holy Spirit. He explores the Holy Spirit as part of the Trinity and the Holy Spirit in relationship to the believer. As part of the divine Trinity, the Holy Spirit is one with the Father and the Son and yet has a unique personality and function. "He who is the breath of God" also has a special relationship to the believer; He enables the believer to live a Spirit-filled life evidenced by the fruit and fullness of the Spirit. Lockyer's careful study is coupled with a warm pastoral approach, making this book food for the mind and heart.

Book Synopsis The Holy Spirit: 592 Scriptures Examined by : Katheryn Maddox Haddad
Download or read book The Holy Spirit: 592 Scriptures Examined written by Katheryn Maddox Haddad and published by Northern Lights Publishing House. This book was released on 2014-08-05 with total page 108 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There are numerous books on the Holy Spirit, but they are based on only a few Bible verses. This study was not done to prove the author’s or anyone else’s pet assessment of the Holy Spirit. The study was made with the desire to forget all pre-conceived notions and opinions, and discover only God’s opinion. The Bible has 592 verses on the Holy Spirit and God’s Spirit. This is the only book of its kind to cover all verses. All other books take a few ideas about the Holy Spirit and elaborate on them. To make sense out of all 592 verses, they were categorized according to what you see in the table of contents in this book ~ the types of people affected by the Holy Spirit. Within each category, are sub-categories, usually based on how the Holy Spirit connected with each person, and how each person reacted. The same subcategory terms will sometimes appear in each category of the people the Holy Spirit affected. At first those little words may seem to have no special significance. But as you progressed through them, you will see that even little words like “within” and “upon”, and “full” sometimes had big significance. All those word studies prepare you for the even more dynamic later chapters in the book. The study is based on the New King James Version of the Bible. Read through these chapters, not to prove what you already believe, but with an open mind and heart that perhaps you don’t believe in enough things the Holy Spirit does, or you believe in more things than the scriptures actually teach. Let us be careful that we do not go beyond what is written (I Corinthians 4:6). Now, let us gear up for all things God’s Holy Spirit does, and get ready to be amazed.
