Book excerpt: This journey to the beginnings of the physician's art brings to life the civilizations of the ancient world--Egypt of the Pharaohs, Greece at the time of Hippocrates, Rome under the Caesars, the India of Ashoka, and China as Mencius knew it. Probing the documents and artifacts of the ancient world with a scientist's mind and a detective's eye, Guido Majno pieces together the difficulties people faced in the effort to survive their injuries, as well as the odd, chilling, or inspiring ways in which they rose to the challenge. In asking whether the early healers might have benefited their patients, or only hastened their trip to the grave, Dr. Majno uncovered surprising answers by testing ancient prescriptions in a modern laboratory. Illustrated with hundreds of photographs, many in full color, and climaxing ten years of work, The Healing Hand is a spectacular recreation of man's attempts to conquer pain and disease.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1924, the United States began a bold program in public health. The Indian Service of the United States hired its first nurses to work among Indians living on reservations. This corps of white women were dedicated to improving Indian health. In 1928, the first field nurses arrived in the Mission Indian Agency of Southern California. These nurses visited homes and schools, providing public health and sanitation information regarding disease causation and prevention. Over time, field nurses and Native people formed a positive working relationship that resulted in the decline of mortality from infectious diseases. Many Native Americans accepted and used Western medicine to fight pathogens, while also continuing Indigenous medicine ways. Nurses helped control tuberculosis, measles, influenza, pneumonia, and a host of gastrointestinal sicknesses. In partnership with the community, nurses quarantined people with contagious diseases, tested for infections, and tracked patients and contacts. Indians turned to nurses and learned about disease prevention. With strong hearts, Indians eagerly participated in the tuberculosis campaign of 1939–40 to x-ray tribal members living on twenty-nine reservations. Through their cooperative efforts, Indians and health-care providers decreased deaths, cases, and misery among the tribes of Southern California.

Book Synopsis Healing Hands of Jesus by : Rekha Vidyarthi
Download or read book Healing Hands of Jesus written by Rekha Vidyarthi and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2012-03 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Archangel Michael taught interactive healing to author Rekha Vidyarthi; through this technique, she has assisted the healing process in people for sixteen years. Michael said to her "You need to heal yourself in order to heal others." Written with Jesus's guidance, Healing Hands of Jesus illustrates how you can choose to change the karmic things and past lives that are happening right now. Angels heal many lives at once by healing one personality and integrating one fragment at a time into the higher self, shortening the incarnation of a troubled past and present. Every experience in life is created by unconscious thoughts. Your outer situation triggers your innermost emotions and feelings. The mind requires answers in order to change one's perspective. Because most answers lie either in childhood or in a past life, it is necessary to look within. The angels trigger our memories to identify the connection, which is when healing begins. Such things as parental imprinting, family karma, ego, anger, fear, guilt, sadness, depression, or learned behavior perpetuate from one life to the next. These issues repeat themselves through many lives until we learn how to heal the issues. Healing Hands of Jesus explains that we must ask forgiveness for the negative things that are happening to us now in order to heal ourselves.

Book excerpt: They team up to find a healer, but the truth could tear them apart. After six quiet months, the Wilcox clan’s witch-finding software finally gets a ping. The article is cloaked in careful, journalistic neutrality, but Laurel Wilcox knows a solid lead when she sees one. Soon Laurel’s headed for Lake Tahoe to hunt for a healer who mysteriously appears when he’s needed, then disappears into the forest. She hopes she won't screw up her first solo mission — and betray her clan’s trust. Which is why it’s the worst possible time to be attracted to a handsome, non-witch civilian. Jason Ludlow’s dual abilities of altering his appearance and hiding his spark of magic from other witch-kind make him ideally suited to hunt for the elusive healer his clan desperately needs. He never expected to meet another witch — a distractingly pretty Wilcox witch — on the same mission. Both hiding their motives behind white lies, Laurel and Jason team up to find the healer…and give in to an attraction that’s both comfortable and sensually intense. But their idyll can’t last. When the truth comes out, they could lose everything…their clans’ trust, their mission, and each other. Book Synopsis The Gift of Healing Hands by : Marina Mangano D.C. RYT
Download or read book The Gift of Healing Hands written by Marina Mangano D.C. RYT and published by Balboa Press. This book was released on 2021-07-20 with total page 188 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As the gatekeeper for a world of unknown healing techniques, author Dr. Marina Mangano sees a fine line between the helplessness that brings a patient to her and the accessible relief that is waiting for each of them. Just as she reminds each of her patients, she doesn’t want you to give up. In The Gift of Healing Hands, Marina explains the science she hunted during the stages of her own clinical enlightenment. Her work uncovers hidden practices that modern providers are using to treat the consciously aware patient. Honest, personalized, and empowering, this accessible guide encourages you to question why you continue to use the term “alternative” for such sensible techniques. This guide is an introduction into the world of subconscious medicine. Marina reveals the freedom that techniques such as chiropractic, yoga, and energy medicine can offer, in the same tiers in which she learned them. Reading this will ignite a sustainable journey through the world of subtle healing, where “diving in deeper,” describes ascension. Emotional and physical healing can be acquired at home, but there is something magical about sharing that experience with a trusted provider who will direct you towards the next phase. Through each chapter, you will learn what questions to ask, and which providers will start your healing today.
