Book excerpt: As we look to the Bible for all the answers we need, I discovered that there are two distinct laws, which has caused confusion to almost the whole world, throughout Christendom. These two laws are (1) the Holy Law of God and (2) the Ceremonial laws of Moses. Scriptures revealed that God gave Moses the instruction to write the Ceremonial laws that were in a book. But God wrote his Holy Law, the Ten Commandments, with his fingers on two tables of stones. Then God's Law was place inside the Ark of the Covenant. Moses' laws were on the outside, of the Ark of the Covenant, also within the Most Holy Place of the tabernacle on earth. This earthly tabernacle was a replica of the Heavenly Sanctuary. Moses laws were contained in the hand-writings of ordinances; as obtained in commandments, which consists of sabbath days, feasts days, holy days, and new moon. None of which had anything to do with the nature of God's Holy Law, that also contains God's holy Sabbath-Day, which was designed for us in the atmosphere of worship at creation. It's these ceremonial laws of Moses that did not make anything perfect. These are the same laws, which were nailed to the cross, and were abolished by Christ death on the cross. They were taken out of the way, through the recompense, of the consequence of sin. Eph. 2:15; Heb. 7:19; Col. 2:14,16; Lev. 1:1-3; Deut. 31:24-26. Not only is the Holy Law of God eternal, holy, perfect, just, and good, it will stand fast forever and ever. It is called the Royal Law. Christ did not destroy it, but provided it with magnification, of its divine purpose. God's Law will continue to give the knowledge of sin, because without it there can be no grace. Therefore, the lingering presence of sin will always be the result of transgressing God's Holy Law. James 2:8; Rom. 3:20; 7:7; Matt 5:7; Heb. 9:4; Psalms 19:7; 111:7,8. And this is the Gospel Truth of the Bible.

We're living in the "last Days," before Jesus "ascend from heaven with a shout." The Bible teaches us that when all the Gospel have been preached to all the nations, he will return for a remnant of people who have made themselves ready for His return. Jesus will, is that none should perish, but that, as many as will believe on His name, shall live with Him forever. There will be people walking around heaven that you would have thought would not have made it in. They will be the ones who for whatever reason found it hard to have the faith that it takes to endure trials, tribulations, and tests. Some of them believed, but had no foundation. Still others believed, but when touched by the enemy in certain areas, wavered and was told they needed to be "born again," or they were unable to endure persecution, and they temporarily left God. Others have known very little about Him and the things of this world became more appealing than seeking God, and there will also be those who have rejected Him, for reasons that only they know of. God will bring in all who receive Him. He will rebuild the desolate City with those who have been rejected, persecuted, despitefully used, and "castaway." He is no longer angry, but merciful, compassionate, longsuffering, forbearing, patient, graceful, faithful, loving, kind, and forgiving. He loves the world so much, that He waits for the latter rain: those who will be drawn in by Father God. The Bible also teaches us, "Judgment must first began, in the house of God." God has a fold that is sealed, but must endure to the end. He has other sheep also that he will bring, that's not of that fold. He's married to the backslider.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The prophecy of the judgment of the sheep and the goats, spoken by Jesus in Matthew 25:31-46, is perhaps the most misapplied passage of all Scripture. But it should be one of the most powerful, for revealing some of the key aspects of the evangelical model of God for His people, with regards to the Great Commission. The topic of the prophetic parable is concerned with the judgments of the Son of Man, towards people of all nations, when He comes in His glory, based on whether or not acts of assistance and support were provided to those He calls His 'brethren'. These acts include provisions of food, drink, clothes, and shelter, and the support involves care for the sick and visitation of those in prison. The Son of Man is the King of heaven and earth, who sits at the right hand of the Throne of God with all power and authority. The eternal judgments of God, for the righteous sheep or the cursed goats, on either hand, are the inheritance of His Kingdom or everlasting fire. The Son of Man is Jesus Christ, who is the King of the parable, and the irony is that neither party were aware of the decisive times in their lives when they ministered to him figuratively in the place of His brethren. The theme of the parable makes a figurative correlation between the brethren of Christ and Christ himself, in that He counts the treatment of His brethren as treatment towards Himself. To put this theme into context, as the Christian faith was first spread across the nations of the world, the brethren of Christ were those doing the will of God. His disciples sent forth out from Jerusalem on the Great Commission, bringing nothing with them to offer the world, but the witness of the truth of God and His Kingdom, under the miraculous power of the Holy Spirit. In some sense, Christ from heaven regards His brethren on earth, doing His will, as physical representatives of Himself in the world. This principle can be seen in such passages as John 13:20, where Jesus says to his disciples, "He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me". Ministry towards an unseen God, as expressed in the form of provision and care towards His people, is part of the broader biblical principle that love for God is seen in the love his people show for one another, as taught all throughout the New Testament scriptures. Yet, while it's true that those who are genuine in the faith will show such evidence, it's also important to remember that works themselves can never earn salvation. Scriptures such as Titus 3:5 could not be more clear, "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life". Thus, knowing the real nature and significance behind the visible works of righteousness, (that seem to be the basis of the judgment in the parable), is crucial with respect to reconciling all Scripture, and understanding what is truly required for a Christian to be saved under the only rightful condition of obedience to the Gospel - that is by grace through faith in Christ. A correct interpretation and application of this parable can bring about blessing and growth towards God's Kingdom, whereas a false and misplaced handling of this passage can hinder and misdirect God's people into unprofitable religious dissonance, undue bondage, and into serving other gods of this world. How is this passage suppose to be understood and applied without descending into a works-based salvation heresy? This study book will search the scriptures to foster a clear understanding and rightful application of this elusive and fearful prophetic illustration, that does not diminish the Gospel, but rather highlights and harmonizes it in-line with the most consistent of biblical truths.

When it comes to proclaiming the Gospel message, half-truths, vague notions, and generalizations can be dangerous.

What are the important truths we need to know and share with others?

  • Is it enough to believe that God loves us and wants a relationship with us?
  • Is it enough to “ask Jesus into our hearts”?
  • Is it enough to recite the “sinner’s prayer,” or do we need to repent of our sin?
  • Is going to church and serving others enough?
  • Is what Jesus suffered more than a gruesome death on a cross?
  • If Jesus, who is fully God, was crucified, did God die on Good Friday?
  • Is God mad at us when we sin and happy when we’re behaving? Can we lose our salvation?

If you’re not sure of the answers to any of these questions, you are not alone. There are a lot of false ideas out there about Christianity and the Gospel.

Join Christine Paxson and Rose Spiller as they explore the answers to these and many other questions about the true Gospel message in No Half-Truths Allowed: Understanding the Complete Gospel Message Learn what Jesus did for you, why He did it, and how you can articulate the Gospel to others.

Book excerpt: There are so many different 'gospels' today, each presenting significantly different views about the Messiah (Who He is and what He has done), that clearly the questions which should be asked by everyone who professes to be a Christian (that is, a follower of Jesus Christ) are, "How will I know a false minister from a true one?" and "How can I know whether or not I have believed a false gospel or God's Gospel?" How is a man saved? How can we know if we are true Christians believing in the only Gospel that saves? What is God's only Gospel? Jesus Himself asked the religious leaders of His day, "...What think ye of Christ?..." (Matt. 22:42). These are vital questions about which every professing believer should be concerned. With all the lies that abound in our day concerning the Gospel and true salvation the question should not be whether we have faith but are we in THE Faith: "Examine yourselves, whether ye be in THE Faith..." (2 Cor. 13:5).

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Where does a new believer turn to find truth? The Christian narrative today has morphed into a fluid and philosophical commentary centered around social injustices and motivational messages that rarely align with the gospel that Jesus preached. Sin is ignored and repentance is avoided by those who over exaggerate grace and diminish the holiness of God by suggesting he accepts us whether we are faithful to him or not. In a knee jerk response to the strict religious shackles of the early church many of today’s preachers bask in the hyper-sensitivity that accompanies the “cancel culture” that proclaims it will not be judged. In The Gospel Truth, Bezan has endeavored to dissect prominent Christian religious denominations in order to expose their internal theologies and scrutinize the details of their doctrine under the litmus test of scripture. He offers legitimate discernment to differentiate between truth and almost truth and conveys an intelligible recognition of the genuine vs the counterfeit in a detailed and comprehensive assessment that leaves the reader judiciously satisfied. We have an opportunity in this life to sincerely contemplate the things of God. We are provided with a window in time to question the hidden mysteries of scripture and truly discover who God is. The good news is that God has provided a path to salvation through Jesus Christ and the gospel contains the truths that solve the mysteries that have eluded men for millennia.

It reflects the unique insights of the man who was closest to Jesus while he was on earth, and is full of concern that we should not just know about what Jesus did, but should also realize who he was. It reflects, too, John's burden the believers in Jesus should not be side-tracked by erroneous teaching, whether concerning Jesus' identity or the veracity of his claims. He wanted believers to be absolutely sure that eyewitnesses, Jesus' own words and his astonishing works all point to one who was truly God come in the flesh, the living Word, the very glory of God among humanity. John's collected evidence and proof all make the most compelling testimony to Jesus' right to demand our on-going trust and obedience.'

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: And Jesus answered and said unto them, take heed that no man deceive you. (Matthew 24:4) Are Christians in today's churches being deceived? If we were, how would we know? We often accept doctrines of today's popular teachers at face value, without ever comparing their claims against the principles of Scripture. Taking for granted that everything we are hearing taught is truthful and sound doctrine, is to be very naïve. Jesus warns us in Matthew 7:15, "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves." We live in an age of rapid change and much deception. If the teaching of the church is going to remain sound, the responsibility rests with us. "Wolves in Sheep's Clothing" is a study guide, a reference source, and a thought-provoking look at many of the teachings prevalent in today's Christian church. The author exposes many of today's false teachings, often with a bold stance. The false teachers propagate their lies with boldness, therefore at times it is necessary to stand against them with boldness. After studying this work, the reader will be empowered to sort through the misleading and deceptive doctrines of today, and avoid the common traps set by most false teachers. Hopefully by the end of the study the reader will have learned practical ways to determine for himself whether a teaching is truthful or in error. At the very least this study will provoke the reader to deep spiritual thought, and at the most, it will set people free from the bonds of false teaching. This study will benefit the fresh new believer and the seminary student, as well as the seasoned Bible teacher. This work is a must read for pastors, teachers, Bible study leaders, and anyone who thirsts after truth.
