Book Synopsis A trade-off optimization model of environment impact and manufacturing cost for machining parts by : Lei Zhang
Download or read book A trade-off optimization model of environment impact and manufacturing cost for machining parts written by Lei Zhang and published by OAE Publishing Inc.. This book was released on 2024-03-21 with total page 26 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Motivation: Throughout the life cycle, the environmental impact and manufacturing costs of a part are largely determined at the design stage. Therefore, a part design optimization method considering these two factors is proposed in this paper. At the same time, the comprehensive benefit is taken as the trade-off of these two factors. The reduction of the comprehensive benefit indicates that the optimized part has achieved better environmental and economic performance results. Methods: Firstly, the model is reconstructed using the dimension-driven method, and the feature information of the new part is extracted. Then, machining process planning is carried out based on the feature information. Secondly, a design optimization model for the comprehensive benefit is established based on the genetic algorithm. The model takes the dimension parameters of the part as the optimization variables and the reduction of the comprehensive benefit as the optimization objective. With the help of the Simulation plug-in for SolidWorks, the static analysis of the optimized model is conducted to determine whether it meets the performance requirements. Finally, the design optimization prototype system oriented to comprehensive benefit is established. The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method are verified by taking the intermediate shaft of the belt conveyor reducer-sixth order step shaft as an example. Results: The case study shows that the optimization result of comprehensive benefit is 1.63%, which verifies the feasibility and effectiveness of the part design optimization method proposed in this paper.

Download or read book UI is Communication written by Everett N McKay and published by Newnes. This book was released on 2013-05-24 with total page 379 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: User interface design is a challenging, multi-disciplinary activity that requires understanding a wide range of concepts and techniques that are often subjective and even conflicting. Imagine how much it would help if there were a single perspective that you could use to simplify these complex issues down to a small set of objective principles. In UI is Communication, Everett McKay explains how to design intuitive user interfaces by focusing on effective human communication. A user interface is ultimately a conversation between users and technology. Well-designed user interfaces use the language of UI to communicate to users efficiently and naturally. They also recognize that there is an emotional human being at the other end of the interaction, so good user interfaces strive to make an emotional connection. Applying what you learn from UI is Communication will remove much of the mystic, subjectiveness, and complexity from user interface design, and help you make better design decisions with confidence. It's the perfect introduction to user interface design. - Approachable, practical communication-based guide to interaction and visual design that you can immediately apply to projects to make solid design decisions quickly and confidently - Includes design makeovers so you can see the concepts in practice with real examples - Communication-based design process ties everything from interaction to visual design together

Book Synopsis Dynamic Neural Networks for Robot Systems: Data-Driven and Model-Based Applications by : Long Jin
Download or read book Dynamic Neural Networks for Robot Systems: Data-Driven and Model-Based Applications written by Long Jin and published by Frontiers Media SA. This book was released on 2024-07-24 with total page 301 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Neural network control has been a research hotspot in academic fields due to the strong ability of computation. One of its wildly applied fields is robotics. In recent years, plenty of researchers have devised different types of dynamic neural network (DNN) to address complex control issues in robotics fields in reality. Redundant manipulators are no doubt indispensable devices in industrial production. There are various works on the redundancy resolution of redundant manipulators in performing a given task with the manipulator model information known. However, it becomes knotty for researchers to precisely control redundant manipulators with unknown model to complete a cyclic-motion generation CMG task, to some extent. It is worthwhile to investigate the data-driven scheme and the corresponding novel dynamic neural network (DNN), which exploits learning and control simultaneously. Therefore, it is of great significance to further research the special control features and solve challenging issues to improve control performance from several perspectives, such as accuracy, robustness, and solving speed.

Book Synopsis Optimization of Structural Topology, Shape, and Material by : Martin P. Bendsoe
Download or read book Optimization of Structural Topology, Shape, and Material written by Martin P. Bendsoe and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-14 with total page 278 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the past, the possibilities of structural optimization were restricted to an optimal choice of profiles and shape. Further improvement can be obtained by selecting appropriate advanced materials and by optimizing the topology, i.e. finding the best position and arrangement of structural elements within a construction. The optimization of structural topology permits the use of optimization algorithms at a very early stage of the design process. The method presented in this book has been developed by Martin Bendsoe in cooperation with other researchers and can be considered as one of the most effective approaches to the optimization of layout and material design.
