Book excerpt: "The Father Touched Me" serves as a compelling compass that sets sail with an evocative recollection from Joseph’s formative years. It begins with Joseph painting a vivid and heart-wrenching picture of her time as a vulnerable child, naively exploring the world around her. Her words transport readers into the depths of emotions she felt during those formative years, laying bare the raw realities of victimhood in its cruelest sense. This literary masterpiece delves into the tumultuous trials she underwent, that plagued her being for many years. However, instead of shying away from these daunting experiences, she valiantly tackled them head-on and probed deeper - ultimately emerging victorious through the saving grace and power of none other than Christ Jesus. Joseph offers strategies, including journaling, to empower and equip readers to safeguard minors. The book promotes effective communication for engagement that inspires protection of children from predators.

Book excerpt: Meredith Maran lived a daughter's nightmare: she accused her father of sexual abuse, then realized, nearly too late, that he was innocent. During the 1980s and 1990s, tens of thousands of Americans became convinced that they had repressed memories of childhood sexual abuse, and then, decades later, recovered those memories in therapy. Journalist, mother, and daughter Meredith Maran was one of them. Her accusation and estrangement from her father caused her sons to grow up without their only grandfather, divided her family into those who believed her and those who didn't, and led her to isolate herself on "Planet Incest," where "survivors" devoted their lives, and life savings, to recovering memories of events that had never occurred. Maran unveils her family's devastation and ultimate redemption against the backdrop of the sex-abuse scandals, beginning with the infamous McMartin preschool trial, that sent hundreds of innocents to jail—several of whom remain imprisoned today. Exploring the psychological, cultural, and neuroscientific causes of this modern American witch-hunt, My Lie asks: how could so many people come to believe the same lie at the same time? What has neuroscience discovered about the brain's capacity to create false memories and encode false beliefs? What are the "big lies" gaining traction in American culture today—and how can we keep them from taking hold? My Lie is a wrenchingly honest, unexpectedly witty, and profoundly human story that proves the personal is indeed political—and the political can become painfully personal.

In A Father’s Touch, she narrates her life story, focusing on her faith and communicating that no matter what you experience, God always covers you. McMichael chronicles her trials and tribulations and all of the times she’s been tested, and she shares examples of how God has walked beside her. Through her story, she provides inspiration, encouraging you to follow your dreams and not allow others’ plans for you to overpower what God has in store for you. Don’t get too busy in life that you forget to pray, study the word, and make your request known to God. Be still and hear from God. Focusing on McMichael’s relationships, A Father’s Touch offers insight into one woman’s life but also delivers important lessons about putting God first.

This straightforward, gentle book offers a tool parents, teachers, and counselors can use to help children feel, be, and stay safe. The rhyming story and simple, friendly illustrations provide a way to sensitively share and discuss the topic, guiding young children to understand that their private parts belong to them alone. The overriding message of My Body Belongs to Me is that if someone touches your private parts, tell your mom, your dad, your teacher, or another safe adult.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: M.F. Sadler was an Anglican priest. He served as rector of Honiton, England, and wrote several other commentaries, including volumes on each of the four Gospels. SADLER, MICHAEL FERREBEE (1819-1895), theologian, eldest son of Michael Thomas Sadler [q. v.], was born at Leeds in 1819. Educated at Sherborne school, he entered St. John's College, Cambridge, after a short interval of business life. He was elected Tyrwhitt's Hebrew scholar in 1846, and graduated B.A. 1847. He was vicar of Bridgwater from 1857 to 1864 (during which time he was appointed to the prebend of Combe, 13th in Wells Cathedral), and of St. Paul's, Bedford, from 1864 to 1869; he was rector of Honiton from 1869 till his death. In 1869 he received an offer of the bishopric of Montreal, carrying with it the dignity of metropolitan of Canada, but refused it on medical advice. He was a voluminous writer on theological subjects, and a strong high churchman. His works, which had a large circulation, did much to popularise the tractarian doctrines.
