Book Synopsis A Transistor Amplifier with 500-Mc Bandwidth by : David Willis Howell
Download or read book A Transistor Amplifier with 500-Mc Bandwidth written by David Willis Howell and published by . This book was released on 1964 with total page 80 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The design, construction, and evaluation of a lowpass transistor amplifier having 50-db insertion power gain and 500-Mc bandwidth are discussed. The amplifier, useful for i-f, rf, or fast-pulse amplification, consists of seven common-emitter stages, each having collectorto-base feedback. A generalized design procedure is given which should be useful for the con struction of other lowpass amplifiers having bandwidths of 500 Mc or greater. (Author).

Download or read book Single and Cascaded Wideband Transistor Amplifiers written by J. B. Payne and published by . This book was released on 1966 with total page 104 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With the realization of high frequency transistors having current and power gain-bandwidth products in the gigacycle region, ultra wideband amplifiers are now possible. This report presents an analysis of the basic high frequency transistor configurations along with experimental data obtained from both single and multiple stage amplifiers having bandwidths ranging from 200 to 800 MHz. Included is a discussion of the important parameters that determine transistors high frequency response along with problems associated with layout and component selection. Various techniques for trading gain for bandwidth are treated and experimentally reported. A new approach for designing wideband cascaded amplifiers that require a minimum of adjustments yet yield near optimum performance is given. (Author).
Book Synopsis Op Amps for Everyone by : Ron Mancini
Download or read book Op Amps for Everyone written by Ron Mancini and published by Newnes. This book was released on 2003 with total page 470 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The operational amplifier ("op amp") is the most versatile and widely used type of analog IC, used in audio and voltage amplifiers, signal conditioners, signal converters, oscillators, and analog computing systems. Almost every electronic device uses at least one op amp. This book is Texas Instruments' complete professional-level tutorial and reference to operational amplifier theory and applications. Among the topics covered are basic op amp physics (including reviews of current and voltage division, Thevenin's theorem, and transistor models), idealized op amp operation and configuration, feedback theory and methods, single and dual supply operation, understanding op amp parameters, minimizing noise in op amp circuits, and practical applications such as instrumentation amplifiers, signal conditioning, oscillators, active filters, load and level conversions, and analog computing. There is also extensive coverage of circuit construction techniques, including circuit board design, grounding, input and output isolation, using decoupling capacitors, and frequency characteristics of passive components. The material in this book is applicable to all op amp ICs from all manufacturers, not just TI. Unlike textbook treatments of op amp theory that tend to focus on idealized op amp models and configuration, this title uses idealized models only when necessary to explain op amp theory. The bulk of this book is on real-world op amps and their applications; considerations such as thermal effects, circuit noise, circuit buffering, selection of appropriate op amps for a given application, and unexpected effects in passive components are all discussed in detail. *Published in conjunction with Texas Instruments *A single volume, professional-level guide to op amp theory and applications *Covers circuit board layout techniques for manufacturing op amp circuits.
Book Synopsis Evaluation of Feedback Amplifier Design Techniques by : Edward Walter Pullen
Download or read book Evaluation of Feedback Amplifier Design Techniques written by Edward Walter Pullen and published by . This book was released on 1961 with total page 132 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An investigation was performed to determine which of two basic feedback-amplifier design procedures, the Bode method or the root-locus technique, would result in the better amplifier in terms of the amplifier's gain, bandwidth and desensitivity. Five amplifiers were considered, two using the Bode procedure and three using the root-locus techniques. Each represented a prominent variation within the Bode or root-locus method. The modifications were performed to give a ''best-versus-best'' comparison of the design methods. To obtain an equitable comparison the same requirements of over-all gain and bandwidth were applied in each design, and the same transistors and transistor model were used for all calculations. In each case the amplifier was designed and constructed, and its performance was evaluated. The results of the experimental work show that the best amplifiers designed using the root-locus technique give a better performance than the best amplifier designed by the Bode method. Qualitatively as well as quantitatively, the root locus produced the better amplifier because of the versatility of the design procedure with respect to the various types of requirements it can accommodate. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This work covers two bases, both performance optimization strategies and a complete introduction to mathematical procedures required for a successful circuit design. It starts from the basics of mathematical procedures and circuit analysis before moving on to the more advanced topics of system optimization and synthesis, along with the complete mathematical apparatus required. The authors have been at pains to make the material accessible by limiting the mathematics to the necessary minimum.
