Book excerpt: God's face is always shining toward us. Our God is not asleep, nor indifferent. But we don't always experience this nearness or the depth of how beloved we truly are--especially if we have experienced neglect, betrayal, or indifference in our formative human relationships. Drawing from the deep well of Scripture, attachment theory, and her own personal story, Summer Joy Gross invites you to experience Emmanuel, God-with-us, as the One whose love toward you is secure and unchanging. She teaches you simple, repeatable practices grounded in biblical teaching and our rich and ancient church traditions that will equip you day-by-day to build a secure attachment with the God who holds you in a sure hand. Because when you are rooted in God's nearness in the ordinary moments, you can rest in God in the midst of life's storms.
Book Synopsis How to Obtain the Promises of God by : Dr. Apostle Emmanuel Adebiyi
Download or read book How to Obtain the Promises of God written by Dr. Apostle Emmanuel Adebiyi and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2011-01-11 with total page 139 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Every true believer must daily live for the promises and by the promises of God. Whosoever does not live by these promises is living for nothing, without God in the world and is spiritually aimless - Now we, brethren as Isaac was, are the children of promise. Galatians 4; 28. Daily connectors to the throne of mercy, where grace is obtain and strength and power is given against each day's evil, are those that are standing on the promises of God. Everything is derived by grace. We are saved, sustained and accomplished by grace The God of all grace, which is also our sufficiency, has made grace sufficient for all things. Nothing can be received, nor obtained from the throne of grace, except through the provisions from the promising notes, which is the word of God. Any day you failed to connect to the throne of grace, you are on your own - Without him, you can do nothing. Hebrews 4; 16. John 15; 5. For some, the promises of God are 7, 500 and to another 13,000 and to another 9,999 etc. The scripture is very clear that the promises of God go beyond numbers, counting and quantity. They are given by divine love, which surpasses human understanding, and that is why Apostle Peter calls them, EXCEEDING GREAT AND PRECIOUS PROMISES. 2 Peter 1; 4. There is no counting, neither limits, to what divine power which has given unto us all things that pertains to life and godliness can accomplished through us and for us, for he is able to do EXCEEDING ABUNDANTLY ABOVE ALL THAT WE ASK OR THINK, ACCORDING TO HIS POWER THAT WORKS IN US O you that answered prayer, unto you all flesh shall come. When you want to gain the world without God in your world, youll end up losing all, including your own soul. This time around, it shall not be in a cave like lot, worst and much more, in the bottomless pit for all eternity - for what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his soul, or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul For those who have been faithfully waiting up to seven years or more for promises given yet unfulfilled, 2011 is your year of eleventh hour of divine reward, says the Spirit of God.

Author Judy Douglass knows these lovers of prodigals well. She is one herself and has created a large and growing community with others. When You Love a Prodigal is a collection of 90 essays--90 days of perspective on what God offers to you as you love your prodigal. At the end of each brief essay, response questions will help you process how God intends to use the wilderness journey to mold your spiritual life. You can work through it day by day, or you can read it straight through. Judy has traveled this road with her own prodigal--reading, learning, praying, and seeking God. Over and over he continued to give her wisdom, he sustained her, he covered her with grace, and he filled her with hope. Book Synopsis The Resurrection of the Son of God by : Nicholas Thomas Wright
Download or read book The Resurrection of the Son of God written by Nicholas Thomas Wright and published by Fortress Press. This book was released on 2003 with total page 864 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Why did Christianity begin, and why did it take the shape it did? To answer this question -- which any historian must face -- renowned New Testament scholar N. T. Wright focuses on the key points: what precisely happened at Easter? What did the early Christians mean when they said that Jesus of Nazareth had been raised from the dead? What can be said today about this belief? This book, third in Wright's series Christian Origins and the Question of God, sketches a map of ancient beliefs about life after death, in both the Greco-Roman and Jewish worlds. It then highlights the fact that the early Christians' belief about the afterlife belonged firmly on the Jewish spectrum, while introducing several new mutations and sharper definitions. This, together with other features of early Christianity, forces the historian to read the Easter narratives in the gospels, not simply as late rationalizations of early Christian spirituality, but as accounts of two actual events: the empty tomb of Jesus and his "appearances." How do we explain these phenomena? The early Christians' answer was that Jesus had indeed been bodily raised from the dead; that was why they hailed him as the messianic "son of God." No modern historian has come up with a more convincing explanation. Facing this question, we are confronted to this day with the most central issues of the Christian worldview and theology.
