Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is another reason I am writing this book. Many people are being deceived to think that they can get into Heaven by their own goodness or righteousness, but they have never really made Jesus Lord of their lives. Many people have done a lot of things in the name of Jesus, but it was their ideas, not His. A lot of people wear the cloak of religion to make themselves look good, but they fail to obey and serve the Lord. Unfortunately, this leads to judgment, not true salvation. So I ask once again, are you a righteous man or woman washed and cleansed by the blood of Jesus? This truly and simply is the only way to become a righteous man or woman. The rest of this book is just to see if we are heading in the right direction as a result of what Jesus has done for us. Be blessed in your journey and remember how much He loves you and pours His grace out on you. The main thing we need to realize is what makes us righteous. The only thing that makes us righteous is the blood of Jesus. When we accept His blood as payment for our sins and turn away from our sin nature, then we can claim righteousness but only because of Jesus. Then we can receive the Holy Spirit and become one with the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. This makes us a righteous man to be able to go to the Father with our prayers. Obedience is the next part of answered prayer. It is very essential that we hear God's voice, because obedience is not just obeying the Bible laws and principles. Obedience comes from us doing daily what God reveals to us for furthering His kingdom. He will reveal His will to us daily if we just listen and stay in that one-on-one relationship with Him. The more we walk in it, the more exciting life becomes. Then we just need to trust and believe what He tells us. Amen.

Beloved Bible teacher Sheila Walsh teaches readers how the daily spiritual practices of confession, meditation on God’s Word, and prayer result in fresh freedom in Christ. In her long-awaited book, Sheila Walsh equips women with a practical method for connecting with God’s strength in the midst of struggle. From daily frustrations that can feel like overwhelming obstacles to hard challenges that turn into rock-bottom crises, women will find the means to equip themselves for standing strong with God. Using the spiritual applications of confession, prayer, and meditation on Scripture to form a daily connection to Jesus, women will learn how to experience new joy as a child of God who is fully known, fully loved, and fully accepted. In In the Middle of the Mess, Walsh reveals the hardened defenses that kept her from allowing God into her deepest hurts and shares how entering into a safe place with God and practicing this daily connection with him have saved her from the devil’s prowling attacks. Though we will never be completely “fixed” on earth, we are continually held by Jesus, whatever our circumstances. Sheila Walsh acts as our guardian in In the Middle of the Mess as she shows us we’re not alone in our struggles, guides us through a courageous journey of self-discovery, and reminds us where to find hope, comfort, and strength in tough times.

More than a testimony, here is a motivational tool that will put readers on the right track and keep them there. In addition to practical advice, Candace offers a biblical perspective on appetite and self control that provides encouragement to women, guiding them toward freedom. Book excerpt: In The Necessity of Prayer, Edward Bounds, a 20th century pastor and lawyer, suggests that prayer is an essential part of the Christian believer's life. He writes, "the Christian soldier, if he fight to win, must pray much." Bounds' book, however, is not simply a list of prayers for one to work through, but also a discourse on the very nature of prayer. He connects the nature of prayer to other features of the Christian life, such as faith, reverence, patience, hope, character, conduct, and faithfulness. Bounds' passion for prayer--which compelled him to write nine books on the topic--shines through in this work, and cannot but help motivate those who read it to also see the necessity of prayer. Perfect for individual study, Bounds' book is sure to change the way one prays. -Tim Perrine, CCEL Staff Writer

Book excerpt: Born the son of a clergyman on October 18, 1662, Matthew Henry was ordained into the British Presbyterian Church where he held the pastorate in Chester from 1687 to 1712. He was widowed, married again and had 10 children, three whom died in infancy. Henry died in 1714. Henry began work on his commentary as "Notes On The New Testament" in 1704 and the monumental work was completed shortly before his death in 1714. Remembered as a caring pastor, a passionate lover of the Word of God, and a man of great personal integrity, Matthew Henry has left his mark on the hearts of countless Christians who seek a deeper understanding of the riches that Scripture contains. This edition of Matthew Henry's Commentary on the Whole Bible uses the King James text and is abridged from the original six volumes while faithfully retaining all of the vibrant themes of that classic work. Everything here is in Matthew Henry's own words and nothing relevant to today's reader has been omitted.
