This research population was manufacturing company listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange that participated in PROPER 2012/2013 and 2013/2014. Based on the multiple regression analysis, audit committee partially had a significant effect on financial performance, while the others did not. Meanwhile, the analysis result shows that environmental performance and all GCG mechanisms simultaneously have significant effects on financial performance.

However, the percentage of state ownership has a negative effect on the relationship between Good Corporate Governance and Return On Assets.Novelty - One agency cost is monitoring expenditure by the principal. Privatization is one way to improve the performance of SOEs. Privatization is believed to improve the performance of SOEs, as a result of increased supervision of the performance of SOEs in Indonesia.

Book excerpt: The failure of conventional performance measurement techniques to measure and monitor multiple dimensions of performance, the growing importance of intangible assets, and the need for research to inform current corporate governance debates have motivated this study. Focusing on listed Indonesian financial sectors, this study aims to empirically determine if positive significant relationship exist between Good Corporate Governance (GCG), Intellectual Capital Performance (ICP) and Corporate Performance (CP) in Indonesia. VAIC method by Pulic was used as measure of ICP. This method indicates corporate value creation efficiency or corporate intellectual ability. A governance index based on five aspects of GCG was used, and a ratio composed of three different performance measures was likewise utilized as proxy of CP. Descriptive, comparative and causal research designs were used to answer the research problems, objectives and the hypotheses. All listed sub-sectors under finance sector in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) were included in this study, to wit: (1) bank, (2) financial institution, (3) securities company, (4) insurance and (5) others, as classified by IDX. This study reveals that in 2009, the overall mean of the GCG Index and VAIC among the group of banks was higher than the four non-bank financial institutions, while the overall mean scores of CP Ratio for group of financial institution were higher than the other four groups. There were no significant differences of ICP and CP in 2007-2009. The empirical findings fail to establish any significant relationships between GCG and ICP. The results suggest that in the Indonesian scenario, the implementation of GCG of the corporation relies on tangible assets rather than intellectual capital. Although there is no significant relationship between ICP and CP, the result however shows that GCG has a significant positive relationship to CP with R2 of 15% indicates that approximately 15% of the variance in CP is explained by GCG. In the opposite direction, the result also shows that approximately 15% variance in GCG is explained by CP. The findings suggest that GCG can lead to better CP and in reverse, better CP can lead to better CG.

This study using a sample of 30 primary sector companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2010-2013 which is chosen using purposive sampling method. The analysis used in this study is multiple regression analysis with the Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS) as its program. The results of this study indicate that CSR measured through indicators of employee has no significant effect on the company's financial performance as measured by ROA and Tobin's Q. Environment has a significant effect on ROA but not against Tobin 's Q. Community has a significant effect both on ROA and Tobin's Q. The results of this study can be used by managers for consideration to improve the financial performance by choosing environment and the community as a social activity.

The data used in this study are secondary data, the stock ownership structure data, the number of audit committee, the board of directors, the proportion of independent commissioners, the number and price of shares and the annual financial statement data of manufacturing companies listed on Stock Exchanges of Indonesia. The primary data were obtained through questionnaires distribution. The population are all listed manufacturing companies in Indonesian stock exchange and forty samples were selected by means of simple random sampling technique for the period of 9 years (2000-2009). The analysis procedure was path analysis consisting of four sub-structure. The study indicates that the ownership structure and corporate governance have a positive influence on investment decisions. On the contrary, both have a negative effect on the financial decisions. Meanwhile, the investment decisions have a positive influence on financial decisions. Both ownership structure and corporate governance have a positive influence on dividend policy, while making investment and financial decisions would negatively affect the dividend policy. Ownership structure, corporate governance, investment decision, financing decision, and dividend policy have a positive influence on the value of the firm.

Book excerpt: The study aims to assess the reaction of Indian stock market to the events of launch of SandP BSE CarbonEx and GreenEx and stock exclusion therefrom / inclusion thereto. It also attempts to advance a typology of EMPs (environmental management practices) followed by the firms listed on these indices. Further, it ascertains the relationship between corporate financial and environmental performance by deploying the panel regression method. The effect of each EMP is assessed on corporate financial performance indicators viz. ROE, ROA, Tobin Q, and sales growth. The analysis is conducted over a period of five years (2013-2017). The findings of the event study approach revealed that abnormal returns, liquidity, and volatility changes during these events were a result of price pressures. Event study analysis discredited liquidity, downward sloping demand curve, information, and investor awareness hypotheses. Six EMPs were examined after analyzing the content and typology was advanced through the demonstration of inter-coder reliability, a single category, and individual reliability. Their coefficients exceeding 0.5 confirmed the robustness of such a framework. A significant negative relationship was found between the EMPs and financial performance indicators. Because the present study is about an interface between environmental science and finance, it puts forth crucial theoretical and pragmatic implications for managers, academicians, and theorists. With a view to generalizing the findings of this research, the model advanced here needs to be tested in other contexts.
