The popularity of Croatia as a tourism destination for Dutch travellers has been growing as well. Currently, Croatia is the ninth most popular Mediterranean destination for Dutch travellers. Remarkably, although Croatian coastal regions, Istria and Dalmatia, are often visited by Dutch travellers, the vast majority of Dutch travellers visiting Croatia are unfamiliar with the Croatian coastal region Kvarner, which is located between Istria and Dalmatia. Therefore, the purpose of this thesis is as following: To investigate whether the Kvarner region has the potential to attract more Dutch travellers visiting Croatia in order to provide recommendations for the Croatian NTO and the RTO of Kvarner. In order to research the potential of Kvarner regarding Dutch travellers visiting Croatia, the following research questions have been developed: - What does Kvarner have to offer as a tourism destination? - What is the positioning of Kvarner by the Croatian NTO and Kvarner's RTO? - What is the profile of Dutch travellers visiting Croatia? - Does thetourism offer of Kvarner match with the preferences of Dutch travellers visiting Croatia"
