Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Rejection is one of the most harrowing and common human experiences. While there are some psychological, emotional, and counseling resources to deal with rejection, I have found few spiritual resources. Yet, in Deuteronomy 1:26-33, the Lord revealed to me 12 ravages or destructive effects of rejection. These ravages are the residue of the Israelite's slavery in Egypt. To be sure, these ravages have many negative effects upon the Israelites, but one of the seldom mentioned effects is the demonic stronghold of rejection. God said in Exodus that He would execute His judgments against all the gods of Egypt. Furthermore, in the Song of Moses, in Exodus 32:17, Moses sang that the Israelites had displeased God by sacrificing to demons who were not God. So, the question becomes, "How do we combat the satanic stronghold of rejection?" In The Ravages of Rejection, we'll be describing the destructive effects of rejection and then developing a glossary of Scriptures to undergird our primary spiritual weapon: praise! p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; text-align: justify; font: 11.0px 'Adobe Caslon Pro'} Bishop F. He is the author of eight books. Bishop Johnson's calling is to provoke deep biblical consideration of bibical realities that people habitually prefer not to consider. Is rejection ravaging or refining you?

The process is called the rejection syndrome, one of the most destructive forces on earth today. We are all on a quest for meaning in life, which we seek in the acceptance and identity to be found in other people and in other things. When circumstances take away our "things" and when people withhold their acceptance, life loses its meaning and destructive processes begin -- unless something or someone can help us break the pattern. - Back cover.

Book excerpt: An entertaining and inspiring account of conquering the fear of rejection, offering a completely new perspective on how to turn a no into a yes. Jia Jiang came to the United States with the dream of being the next Bill Gates. But despite early success in the corporate world, his first attempt to pursue his entrepreneurial dream ended in rejection. Jia was crushed, and spiraled into a period of deep self doubt. But he realized that his fear of rejection was a bigger obstacle than any single rejection would ever be, and he needed to find a way to cope with being told no without letting it destroy him. Thus was born his "100 days of rejection" experiment, during which he willfully sought rejection on a daily basis--from requesting a lesson in sales from a car salesman (no) to asking a flight attendant if he could make an announcement on the loud speaker (yes) to his famous request to get Krispy Kreme doughnuts in the shape of Olympic rings (yes, with a viral video to prove it). Jia learned that even the most preposterous wish may be granted if you ask in the right way, and shares the secret of successful asking, how to pick targets, and how to tell when an initial no can be converted into something positive. But more important, he learned techniques for steeling himself against rejection and ways to develop his own confidence--a plan that can't be derailed by a single setback. Filled with great stories and valuable insight, Rejection Proof is a fun and thoughtful examination of how to overcome fear and dare to live more boldly.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: WINNER OF: Frantz Fanon Outstanding Book from the Caribbean Philosophical Association Canadian Political Science Association’s C.B. MacPherson Prize Studies in Political Economy Book Prize Over the past forty years, recognition has become the dominant mode of negotiation and decolonization between the nation-state and Indigenous nations in North America. The term “recognition” shapes debates over Indigenous cultural distinctiveness, Indigenous rights to land and self-government, and Indigenous peoples’ right to benefit from the development of their lands and resources. In a work of critically engaged political theory, Glen Sean Coulthard challenges recognition as a method of organizing difference and identity in liberal politics, questioning the assumption that contemporary difference and past histories of destructive colonialism between the state and Indigenous peoples can be reconciled through a process of acknowledgment. Beyond this, Coulthard examines an alternative politics—one that seeks to revalue, reconstruct, and redeploy Indigenous cultural practices based on self-recognition rather than on seeking appreciation from the very agents of colonialism. Coulthard demonstrates how a “place-based” modification of Karl Marx’s theory of “primitive accumulation” throws light on Indigenous–state relations in settler-colonial contexts and how Frantz Fanon’s critique of colonial recognition shows that this relationship reproduces itself over time. This framework strengthens his exploration of the ways that the politics of recognition has come to serve the interests of settler-colonial power. In addressing the core tenets of Indigenous resistance movements, like Red Power and Idle No More, Coulthard offers fresh insights into the politics of active decolonization.

Book excerpt: NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • “A thoughtful defense of traditional conservatism and a thorough assault on the way Donald Trump is betraying it.”—David Brooks, in his New York Times column In a bold act of conscience, Republican Senator Jeff Flake takes his party to task for embracing nationalism, populism, xenophobia, and the anomalous Trump presidency. The book is an urgent call for a return to bedrock conservative principle and a cry to once again put country before party. Dear Reader, I am a conservative. I believe that there are limits to what government can and should do, that there are some problems that government cannot solve, and that human initiative is best when left unfettered, free from government interference or coercion. I believe that these ideas, tested by time, offer the most freedom and best outcomes in the lives of the most people. But today, the American conservative movement has lost its way. Given the state of our politics, it is no exaggeration to say that this is an urgent matter. The Republican party used to play to a broader audience, one that demanded that we accomplish something. But in this era of dysfunction, our primary accomplishment has been constructing the argument that we’re not to blame. We have decided that it is better to build and maintain a majority by using the levers of power rather than the art of persuasion and the battle of ideas. We’ve decided that putting party over country is okay. There are many on both sides of the aisle who think this a good model on which to build a political career—destroying, not building. And all the while, our country burns, our institutions are undermined, and our values are compromised. We have become so estranged from our principles that we no longer know what principle is. America is not just a collection of transactions. America is also a collection of ideas and values. And these are our values. These are our principles. They are not subject to change, owing to political fashion or cult of personality. I believe that we desperately need to get back to the rigorous, fact-based arguments that made us conservatives in the first place. We need to realize that the stakes are simply too high to remain silent and fall in line. That is why I have written this book and am taking this stand. —Jeff Flake

Psalm107: 20 A person can never determine if something or someone is destructive unless there is something to compare it to. Destruction means to injure, harm, or wound. I did not understand how rapidly I was destroying my life and became a threat to my very own soul. Virtually living on the edge as if there was nothing in my future to look forward to. Without the proper guidance and affirmative action, I had become reckless and slowly but surely degrading the core of positive values that existed in my upbringing. Not noticing that the trials of life can at times change a rational person to one that is capable of destroying everything and everyone in their reach. Destructive behaviors can be derived from negative experiences and oftentimes prey on the fears of life causing a sense of insecurity. This insecurity caused me to seek attention in all the wrong places and in all the wrong people. When we lack guidance and self-control our flesh has the potential to creatively destroy that, which is dear to us such as our family, friends and relationships and most importantly, jeopardizing our spiritual walk.

Book excerpt: Do you struggle with anger, fear, anxiety, depression, addictions, or other out-of-control behaviors? Do you fear failure or the rejection of others? Do you live feeling that God is not pleased with you or that those around do not love you? Are you frustrated because nothing you've tried seems to help? It may be that you have been going after the fruit without getting to the root of the issue. Rejection Exposed demonstrates that rejection is at the root of most struggles in your life. Rejection is a spiritual force from the enemy of your soul that seeks to bring separation and make you believe you are less than perfectly accepted and loved by God and those you love. From personal experience and years of ministry, Anthony Hulsebus has discovered there is way to defeat this cycle in your life. You will learn how rejection works in your life and how you can live free from the fear of rejection, fear of failure, and fear of being alone. You will learn, for perhaps the very first time, how to truly be a son or a daughter of God and not just a servant. Rejection is a powerful spiritual force, but there is a greater spiritual force: the love of your heavenly father. Also see the Rejection Exposed Workbook, which takes an action-oriented approach, helping you to put into practice what you learn in Rejection Exposed.
