Book excerpt: The Reidenbach Mennonites split from the Wenger Mennonites in 1942-1943 over the issue of sending their sons to camp (run by liberal Mennonites) or to jail during World War II. About 35 members led by David N. Hoover refused communion which in effect began the split.
