Imagine the possibility we are all impaired at birth with the blessing of forgetfulness to the universal truth that separation is The Dance of Illusion and where there is love, Divine Love, there is no separation. This story calls humanity forward to awaken from an unidentified silent epidemic of an addiction to suffering caused by an underlying, unrecognized belief system rooted in separation. What is required as the entrance ticket to new beginnings in life? It is for the reader to answer an invitation to love, Divine Love that stands the test of time, with a resounding YES. Ultimately, The Dance of Illusion proposes a new way of living in the 21st century and beyond; to learn and live in joy, with suffering a distant memory of the past. This is a story laced empowerment, hope and new beginnings. This is one woman’s true story about awakening to something more in life and how to navigate through many sunrise and sunsets to find true love, Divine love that is found on a journey within. The basic universal truth offered for consideration throughout the story is that we are human beings having a spiritual experience. What is important along the way is to discover the building blocks of truth both personal and universal to rise out of tragedy to experience triumph. What is triumph you might ask? From the author’s point of view, it is the joy of living in freedom without suffering with great passion while consciously creating life with Divine Love as the foundation of faith upon which we stand. Every element of the story showcases an innovative, breakthrough process on how to thrive through difficult times of chaos and change, and how to quiet the passions of the mind in ways that are previously unimaginable and unavailable to millions of people today. The reader is encouraged to ask and seek the answer to a tough question, “How do we create peace in the world when so many millions of us are at war, an invisible war, an attack unrecognized within our own being, perhaps even sleepwalking through life?” The described paradigm creates the set up for denying the time to question the true meaning of life on earth beyond the obvious. In midlife, the author asked herself the question, “Who am I at the core of my being?” The answers sought were beyond the field of right and wrongdoing, beyond make a living and beyond material possessions. While this sounds serious and it is, there are many stories shared that will leave the reader laughing and asking for more. Time may just be the new currency of wealth in the 21st century. It is the author’s perspective; it is what we consciously choose to do with time, that is up for investigation throughout this story. In midlife, the author found herself in emotional and financial crisis which, unexpectedly led to a spiritual emergency. After experiencing great loss, she found herself experiencing deep depression, anxiety and nagging, never ending suicidal thoughts. Having been raised Catholic, she found herself feeling separate from God, family and everyone she loved. This is a story that has never been told before about suicide from a spiritual perspective. This is a must read for those who suffer from depression, anxiety and suicidal tendencies, those who love them and professionals who help them.

Book excerpt: Khenpo Ngawang Palzang, also known as Khenpo Ngakchung or Khenpo Ngaga, was one of the great masters in the late nineteenth and the first half of the twentieth centuries. He was an extremely influential teacher who taught some of the great lamas of the next generation, including Kyabje Chatral Rinpoche. Khenpo Ngaga was considered a living emanation of Vimalamitra and Longchenpa. In this autobiography, Khenpo Ngaga tells his life story through memories and reflections in a way that presents the entire Buddhist path, including the renunciation of worldly pursuits, finding and attending to a qualified teacher, engaging in mind training, practicing the preliminaries, studying the sutras and tantras, engaging in the generation and completion stages, and Dzogchen. Throughout he shares stories, visionary experiences, and advice that serve as a model for the reader on the path to emulate. The great Tibetologist Gene Smith considered this autobiography so important that he devoted the first chapter of his seminal study Among Tibetan Texts to it, writing that Khenpo Ngaga’s autobiography is significant as “a treasury of authentic instruction on the essentials of Buddhism and Rdzogs chen meditation.”

Book excerpt: This book is a theoretical examination of the relationship between the face, identity, photography, and temporality, focusing on the temporal episteme of selfie practice. Claire Raymond investigates how the selfie’s involvement with time and self emerges from capitalist ideologies of identity and time. The book leverages theories from Katharina Pistor, Jacques Lacan, Rögnvaldur Ingthorsson, and Hans Belting to explore the ways in which the selfie imposes a dominant ideology on subjectivity by manipulating the affect of time. The selfie is understood in contrast to the self-portrait. Artists discussed include James Tylor, Shelley Niro, Ellen Carey, Graham MacIndoe, and LaToya Ruby Frazier. The book will be of interest to scholars working in visual culture, history of photography, and critical theory. It will also appeal to scholars of philosophy and, in particular, of the intersection of aesthetic theory and theories of ontology, epistemology, and temporality.

This worldview allows us to count and measure objects without their having any innate value; it provides neat definitions and a sense of control over life. However, this approach also sets humans apart from each other, and from nature. In reality, in nature, everything is connected in a fluid, dynamic way. 'Separateness' is an illusion we have created -- and is fast becoming a dangerous delusion infecting how we relate to business, politi, and other key areas of our daily reality.Giles Hutchins argues that the source of our current social, economic and environmental issues springs from the misguided way we see and construct our world. With its roots in ancient wisdom, this insightful book sets out an accesssible, easy to follow exploration of the causes of our current crises, offering ways to rectify these issues at source and then pointing to a way ahead.

Book excerpt: The Drakari call him their savior. For 3,000 years, the pureblooded elven aristocrats of Imperial Arreth have subjugated their hybrid counterparts, caging their magick with suppressive devices, restraining them from the same rights as the purebloods, and forcing them to live in the slums of great imperial cities. Twins Vivani and Valyn Tyrea have no intentions of perpetuating the gory cycle, but they both know that to destroy a tyrannical body, they must sever the head. Born of noble, elven blood and something other, the twins hide in plain sight. Valyn has his mind set on conquering the empire through charm and manipulation. Vivani has her heart set on saving her people... somehow. When the Drakari, a rebel group of drakkin hybrids, surge forward from the slums of the capital city of Cylad, Vivani and Valyn meet Kraven Crausya, a drakkin with connections to the rebel undergrounds. Through him, Vivani learns of the Serpent of Civel, a legend to the hybrids, and their proclaimed savior. He was thought to be long dead, but the whispers of the oppressed sing a different tale. Once Vivani faces the Drakari's so-called savior, the illusion of her world is shattered. Unable to deny the truth, she must choose between all she has built over the years, or follow her heart and conscience.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Telling that the life itself it’s an illusion, might sound so damn … weird … and most probably … even like a depressive thought. But … you see … there are so, so many moments in life when the life itself just… sucks … and we ask ourselves … what the hell have i done that i deserve that?! And that was the moment when the karmic idea came into my mind … starting to believe that all the lessons of life, sometimes very difficult to handle … could be defined as karmic. All those abstract situations … which totally annoy us … and make our lives miserable… are repeating on and on and on. Believing we are the victims of circumstances … everything it’s never the way we want to be … or even worst. The funny thing that i tried all the time when i was in those weird abstract stories, having the impression that it was the end of the world … i was repeating to myself “It’s all an illusion … and it’s not what it looks like”. My karmic stories … being in fact my stories … and feeling them in such a powerful way … were … Well … don’t even know how to define them, but all i wanted was to get out of those situations and also get rid of the karmic people that i hated so much. And i tried everything … and nothing worked expect smiling … or even laughing in front of those illusions. Deciding to call them … simple … illusions … was probably the best idea i could come with. But the karmic illusions … were powerful messages i had to understand … and i was pretending i could not see behind the abstract. I actually love the abstract, but not when it was part of my life. It was all related with the concept of understanding the meaning of life … and even if i spent lots of time meditating over the subject … when i was on the scene of the real life, i was acting like a football player that studied all the strategies had been ever written about this sport … but … never practiced and in fact never tried to practice it in a good way. So … even if i knew theory … i acted like someone that never heard about spirituality … or about the forces behind reality. In fact …. in the real life, in so, so many karmic moments … i acted like an … idiot. I knew that all i had to do was just to smile in front of those illusory situations … cause there is no other way of fighting. But guess what?! Each time … i was failing. The only progress i made over the years … was that after a while … meditating over what happened … i somehow understood what … illusory … meant. …. that i had to react in a different way. … that was not what it looked like and the lesson of life had to be seen, understood deeper and deeper. But again … theory was so easy and i was failing tests all the time. On and on and on … I was such an idiot not applying all what i knew about life … on the scene of my own life. … and i was paying the price … of living a … miserable life … Everyday something happened and i was fucking my vibe … not realizing there were tests given to me by the Universe. Life was beautiful … and i thought it’s so … ugly. Hahaha … such a silly perspective. Well … it was all a decision of … changing my perceptions … and realizing that anything it could happen it was all a decision of the Divine Intelligence … God … Allah … or however we could name that entity that is everything it exists …. and it was all for our good. The fact that the karmic situations were repeated … was because i was not passing the tests … and i really had to pass those tests. It was all about … my awakening … and i had to start the … process.

They remind us that we do not see the world as it is, but only filtered through our own perceptions. This stunning collection captures the full breadth of the form, from composite images and trompe l'oeil to tricks of perspective and the absolutely impossible. There are ambiguous illusions with multiple meanings, depending on how you look, such as "Dance with Me": Can you see the ominous face gazing at a happy couple dancing among the trees? If you want to glimpse the magic in a topsy-turvy illusion, just rotate the page to reveal some hidden imagery. Viewed one way, "The Mysterious Island," painted by Hungarian artist István Orosz, shows a small ship sailing through an opening in some rocks. But turn it upside down and instead there's a portrait of the great author Jules Verne! And of course, there are illusions where things seem to be the same size when they're really not and others that seem to be in motion when, of course, they're completely still. From a twice-as-beautiful-as-one double rainbow to a fully intact wall that appears to have crumbled, these mysterious illusions will fascinate and enchant anyone who loves art, science, and magic. From the Trade Paperback edition.

Book excerpt: As the march of boots echoes from overseas, all nations that border the Pacific and beyond are invited to build pavilions on Treasure Island at the Golden Gate International Exposition, an event dedicated to the pursuit of world peace and brotherhood. Meanwhile, Lily Nordby, smart, strong-willed, and feisty, lands a job at the Examiner and is given a once-in-a-lifetime assignment covering the Exposition. There she meets Tokido Okamura, the host of the Japanese Pavilion—and despite being highly suspicious of his true purpose on the island, she’s swept up in a whirlwind of powerful emotions that lead her into unknown territory. Brilliant and enigmatic Woodrow Packard, a Mayan art scholar at the Expo, prefers remaining aloof and alone. But his infatuation and deepening relationship with Lily thrusts him into the limelight. He asks himself, could someone as smart and beautiful as she return the love of a man who is a dwarf? In an attempt to prevent Lily from spiraling into danger, Woodrow intercedes to help her uncover her family’s past—but when fate intervenes, they are both pulled into a destiny they could never have imagined. Mixing fact and fiction with a dash of noir, Beautiful Illusion is a story of love and deception that explores what happens when human hearts collide as the world is plotting war.

Book excerpt: In this new edition of a modern classic, Thomas Howard contrasts the Christian and secular worldviews, refreshing our minds with the illuminated vision of reality that inspired the world in times past and showing us that we cannot live meaningful lives without it. Howard explains in clear and beautiful prose the way materialism robs us of beauty, depth, and truth. With laser precision and lyrical ponderings he takes us through the dismal reductionist view of the world to the shimmering significance of the world as sign and sacrament. More timely now than when it was first written, this book is a prophetic examination of modern society's conscience.
